Golspie for its technical climb, truely awesome descent and cracking views, Laggan for cakes 😉

Apart from that, there's not a great deal of trails up here, so I wouldn't bother with the drive up north 😉

Golspie!!! I've yet to clean the Lactic Ladder and the last time I tried I managed to go over the bars. Twice. WTF!!

Next time we'll do it on steel Pete 😉 Make it more of a challenge

The tail end of the Lairig Ghru is awesome as you descend into Rothiemurcus. We did a loop last year starting at Loch Morlich, riding up the trail adjacent to the Ski road, through the Chaliman pass (which is a carry through a boulder field) onto the Lairig Ghru and into Rothiemurcus. Cracking ride.

Apart from that, theres not a lot to see up here, not worth the trip 😉

Got out on it today. Rides as good as it looks. Had a bit gear skipping at the back, but I reckon a new cassette will sort that, as the rest of the chainset is brand new, apart from casstte which came of another bike.
Looking forward to taking it to Golspie on saturday!

Heres my Choclate brown 456. Finished the build yesterday. Hopefully give it a blast round the Puffer course tomorrow.

I know the steerer is too long!! It will be cut down once Ive got it set at a good height

The steerer is staying like that until I get the position just right, I will then cut it to size.

I ordered a Choc Brown 456 last friday. My frame arrived on the Tuesday, but on opening the box I found they'd sent me a Pink 456!!! As nice as it looked, I wanted the brown frame. A quick call to them at 4.30pm on the Tues and they promised Id have my Choc frame with headset fitted on the Thursday. True to there word, it arrived by courier on thursday morning. The lass I spoke to on the phone was great, and couldnt do enough to get it sorted. Always worth a quick phone call.

Was up the Puffer today and speaking to the guy driving the catapillar plough. He has cleared the first 1km of fireroad from the Torachilty carpark up to the first turn off the fireroad onto the first little stretch of singletrack that cuts the fireroad corner off. He said he is clearing the fireroad out to the farm first then will be clearing up to the saw mill. The snow has been taken right back to the hardcore in places on the fireroad, but there are some big sections that are like glass underneath!!

The rest of the fireroad climb is badly rutted at the minute due to some tracked vehicle going up it, and its frozen solid, feels like riding over a cattle grid constantly. but this should be ok once the plough has been up it.

Got to the top of the fireroad climb and up to the singletrack which is no better than it was. Still un-ridable on this side of the hill.

Not long to go now 😀

Cullen-bay, the pics are the fire road climb up from the Torachilty car park in Contin, and a pic of the river walk descent back down to the car park.

Going for a spin round the full Puffer route tomorrow with the dogs.

I rode round parts of the puffer route yesterday. You can ride in the tracks on the firetracks, but underneath the snow it is solid ice. Will take an age to thaw completely. The singletrack is ridable in areas.

    A few pics from yesterday
