Lasercock, sounds like a James Bond weapon.

He could not only use it to eliminate ivana tossuoff (top female Russian agent).
But also later could use it to cut his way through the upturned hull of a sinking cargo ship.

I have decided, the revs are definatly going on the five and I will build the marley with the sektors.

I definatly will get in touch with loco with regard to upgrading the sektors but will ride them as is for a while just to decide wether or not to have them dropped to 140 or not.

    Thanks for the input.

The more I think about it the more I like the idea of the 140 revs on the five , if only because I have less far to fall when it tries to kill me (which it does often).

Making the sektors 140 and upgrading the rebound dampner also, on the marley would be good, how hard would it be to do myself and what parts would I need.

if pikes came with a straight steerer I would.
I was thinking another set of revs, but everywhere I have looked want actual money.

I would not run them at 120 accept for climbing as then you lose the use of the shorter softer spring.

I really not sure what to do, as the five is my “big bike” it should be more capable but that said it does not get used a quarter as much as the hardtail and I only have it because my bad back does not allow me to use the hardtail on anywhere really rough without paying for it later.

But then again the hardtail in question would not be the voodoo but the marley I have finally decided to build.

    So my options are a

    Five with 140 revs
    Marley with 150 sektors dpc

    Or

    five with 150 sektors dpc
    Marley 140 revs

Will I miss the 10mm from the five or will it feel better at 140.
Ether way I will look into the moco tune.

As said above I always use crc as they have always been consistently quicker than the competition, if this changes and someone else proves to provide a better service, I will start using them instead.

    Proper impatient me.

Once I have placed my order, I need that part like a fat kid needs cake.

Crc are always my first choice for parts, even if a few quid more I will go with them due to there Superb service.

But lately they have been slacker than usual , items taking longer to arrive some not picked for days, one no despatch notice for a week and had to put a call in.

I hope this is not a sign of things to come.

Growing up I had a genuine belief I was unbreakable and was absolutely fearless as a result.
I used to shimmy up 5 floors of drainpipe to the top floor of a block of flats and then hang down from one balcony dropping into the next back down to he ground floor.

At 28 I was seriously injured in a motorbike crash, it’s legacy being a bad back and the seeing of pain and injury everywhere.
I now feel fear deep in the pit of my stomach when stood on the ground staring up at a tall building and every now and again when flying down the motorway it occurs to me one wrong move and I could have my lower extremities crused to a pulp by a red hot engine while entombed in a ball of mangled steel.

But I try not to let it bother me. 😀

Being fat does not make you lazy, although laziness may contribute to getting fat,
But if you are fat it is because you are putting too many calories through your face.

Some people can eat like a horse and not put on a pound, others can’t so don’t, don’t do, and then blame your metabolism.

I was lucky enough to be able to stuff face and stay lean , but not anymore.

Peter shiltons wife said he has always been a lazy bugger and if armchair sitting was an Olympic event he would bring home the gold every four years.

To me lazy means lack of motivation.

You get fat when your calorie intake is more than you use, this does not make you lazy.
I am sure there are fat lazy people as there thin lazy people.

We as a nation are getting fatter due to snacking and fast food.
In the not to distant past you had breakfast around the table before work , took a packed lunch and then had an evening meal around the table and not much else.

Now people eat a lot of crap when ever it takes their fancy.
Trouble is lots of what is not the healthiest option is so damn tasty and quick and easy.
You have to excercise self control as it is very easy to put on weight if you are not carefully about what you eat.

If you are running the same tyres front and rear then it is worth switching the rear to the front as is wears and put the fresher front tyre on the rear. Can’t really see swapping the direction of tyres as especially helpful…

Never do this as this will give less grip at the front and if any tyre is going to lose grip I would rather it was the back.
I run xr4s front and back on one bike and it’s best when the rear wears to stick the front on the back and buy a new one for the front.

Take the bike back, have them repair it then pick it up and thank them kindly.
And if you believe Evans are incompetent don’t use them again.

I don’t see what else you hope to achieve.
A grovelling apology or money in way of compensation ?

Seriously if you go in and smile and thank them as said above you will actually feel better on leaving. If you create a scene ranting and raving you will only wind yourself up and leave with the hump.

What bike someone rides or how much money they spend on it, there field of work, age, how many inches is printed on there waistband or car they drive has nothing to do with anyone but them.
And if they are not doing you any harm, the only reason behind anyone judging or making any negative remarks or comments is because they are mean people.

If I have a billion pound in the bank and have a six grand bike in the four car garage or earn £250 a week in a fish finger factory and live in a crumbling bedsit with wallpaper falling of the wall behind my six grand bike in the corner of my room , it’s got sod all to do with you, mind your own.

Anyone can enjoy a mountain bike ride, providing they have two things, a mountain bike and the ability to ride a bike.
You could have a good day out on a 15 year rock hopper.

That said it is nice to have nice things but not having the best does not stop you enjoying what you have.
There is no qualification required to own a six grand bike, regardless of skill, profession, age or bodymass index,
All you require is six grand.

I am far from Gnarr core in my riding, and people were riding where and how i ride not to many years ago on forks worse than what now come on the cheapest BSO mountainbikes and loving every minute of it.
So there is no reason I can not do the same on my current set up.

I try to buy the best I can afford, and if someone can afford to pay a shed load of money on components then fair play to them.
But realistically would a £1000 set of forks make a huge difference to my mtb experience over a £300 set, apart from satisfying a little bike envy, no.

But a long as people keep buying them , it will fuel progress and I will benefit, as trickle down technology means I get to ride the the same top end stuff, just I am a couple of years behind.

It is very easy to get get starry eyed over the latest gear but there is a lot to be said for ride what you got and then worry about it when it breaks.

Bun fight and bakery come to mind.
If the person who went on to take the prize home had anything about her she would have returned the prize to the organisers on the day the moment it was apparent there may be a problem, to be re presented when a decision was made.

If she had left before the problem came to light, the organisers if they had anything about them should have let her keep the prize as it was their mistake not hers and presented the actual winner with another identical prize.

Wether the mistaken winner now returns the prize or not should have no bearing on the organisers now giving the actual winner her prize as advertised that she won .
If not I would suggest that they are indeed a shower with no integrity and their events should be avoided as such.
