Have not used mine in anger yet, I think I will empty the shock now and see wether it fouls the seat tube.

Thanks all, not quite as risk free as I hoped, will do my best to make sure watford get him northwick park on Monday for his scan and then see what the doctors say.

My school career was a laugh which I never took seriously much to the dismay of some of my teachers (recognised genius when they saw it). But if I could do it all again knowing then what I know now I would at least try to be a doctor as to be able to make a real difference to peoples lives must be a wonderful thing.

I think that’s why it annoys me so when I come across the occasional useless one and I value those who are brilliant.
As I have learnt through my association with my friend that not all doctors are equal.

Those helmets have been that price for weeks, bought a green one myself.

I had tried to stay away from CRCs website recently as I did not need owt else.
But decided I needed a new helmet, so when I saw the very one I needed int sale it was like it was meant to be.

Still a t that price can’t moan Black Friday or not.

Nitromorse used to be mustard but useless now.
Ring around local powdercoaters as you may be surprised how cheaply they will do it for you.

Ginger pubes and beard despite brown hair.
But now with age the grey flashes in my beard match the grey flashes in my hair, so it worked out well in the end.

After last year my local asda said lessons had been learned and protocols had been put in place to guarantee the fairest way of offering the customers this years too good to be true Black Friday deals.

Fred would’ve done it with a fag in his mouth
I’m not taking nothing away from these guys, they’ve clearly got some stones. But I think a lot of it is mind over matter. When I was a youth, I used to do stuff like this (nothing that high), and I was completely fearless. I’d always think – If you painted a four inch wide stripe on the floor, you’d jump around all day on it without ever falling off, so there should be no difference doing it at height (wind factor excluded). Then at some point in my 20’s, I ‘became scared’. No idea what happened, would be interested to know. But watching stuff like this these days leaves my palms sweating!

I know exactly the day I went from fearless to scared, I was twenty eight and it was the day I broke my back in a motorbike accident.

I was known as a kid for doing ridicules dares and regularly climbed blocks of flats using the down pipe.
But after my crash I felt fearful if I stood at the foot of a tall building looking up.
It’s like my subconscious suddenly became aware of my mortality.

I fricken loved fred dibnah, a man who made a TV series where he drove a steam engine from pub to pub stopping to have a pint in every one, and no one said ” fred, that’s eight pints Bruv, step away from the traction engine”

But instead watched as he lit a tab before pulling his greasy rag from his pocket. That is the mark of a real man, keeping a greasy rag in your pocket.

    Bloody Black Friday,
I have just ordered two urge AM helmets and I only have one head.

Those carbon wheels look tasty for the money but I have not long replaced the wheels on all my bikes or I would be in like Flynn.

My single ring is where my middle used to be and I used all my cassette with my middle ring.
But saying that a narrow wide ring does not allow the chain to angle towards the cassette once on the first tooth so ever so slightly shortens the distance the chain has to deal with sideways forces, as would the larger rear sprocket.

Chain wear or stretch is wear on the pins so as a narrow wide makes contact with more of the surface area of the pins effectively spreading the load so I would expect the pins to wear better.
Unless of course they are made of softer material in order to protect your very expensive cassettes.

Don’t do Facebook or Twitter, this forum and a little bikerader are the only social media I partake in.
But I hate being with out my phone, not for gassing but think when I don’t have it I might breakdown or find my self in a situation where I will need to call an emergency service.

It’s completely irrational but since the mobile phone phone boxes are dying out.

My bikes are finished accept maybe when 1×11 becomes affordable (for me, being a peasant) I will adorn my 2010 last of the straight steerer fives with it, apart from that only replace things when they break.

I could happily ride my current bikes as they are for the next twenty years as I am forty and it’s all down hill for me now.
Do I feel my riding experience would be improved by a new bike, no.
I will never be that toothless chap who rode with no rear tyre, and I am happy to rattle up and down my local trails as is.

I don’t think a 2015 five would be much better than mine, in fact mine is built to a better spec than most of there range anyway and I don’t buy into 27.5 being better than 26.
So In short I think my bikes are blooming fantastic and i am not daft enought to believe they are the limiting factor in our working partnership.

I bought an old gold super tuff tear drop frame, nitro morsed the gold coating off and built it up with acorns as my disposable income as an eleven year old would not stretch to skyways.

Read a review of the rear yesterday from when they were first released where they claim they paid £18 for a rear mudhugger. I paid £30 last week for my five specific rear mudhugger.

Now specific my arse, if it was five specific it would Hugg the back wheel like in all the nice press release pics and ads finishing almost horizontal. Were as on the five it juts up in the air at a jaunty angle seriously cutting down its effectiveness and giving the impression I am on an offy run.

It really needs a redesigning for the five, more semi circular to come back down over the rear wheel due to the shallower angle of the swing arm.

I got one of the ones from merlin last week for my ragley.
I wanted a hilo but they had gone from £130 what I paid for my last to £170.
So the reverb was bought as it was £20 cheaper .

Fitted, hose shortened and works a treat.

Had to cut the hose off the doodaar to shorten which I believe they have now changed.
    But as said works great.

I’ll give that a couple of months at best before your though the heli tape and eating paint.

then it will be off to orange for a change of coat, I fricken love that apple green.
and the mud hugger will get licks.

Tsk, have a word with yourself.
your mate is a lucky chap, and I hope he treats better than you ever did by getting it really dirty.

That’ll slide down when its wet

the ties are tight enough to have cut in to heli tape slightly, so I am fairly confident it will hold.

any gyp and it will feel my wrath.

I have allowed as little clearance as I dare, 10mm-12mm at a guestamation, I haven’t let the air out of the shock to check if it hits the seat tube.

Right guard fitted, I had some 1″ 3M helitape so ran that on the top and bottom of the swing arm where it wrapped around a little also.
When the box was delivered there was cable ties hanging out and on opening only 4 in the box so went to halfords for more and as said by another poster the ones supplied are some sort of obscure standard (bike company obscure standard shocker) so bought smaller ones and put six on each side.

Don’t sell it to a friend, as you will regret it every time you see them togeather, in bars, nightclubs and even around town. And when you see how happy they are togeather you will remember the good times and wish you were still togeather and wish you had not neglect it but instead cherished it and had ridden it at least every other weekend before giving it a good rub down with a soapy sponge.

    Stick it in the classifieds.

Good restaurants should be busy especially at the weekend, and if it’s foreign nosh and there are quite a few punters of the same ethnic persuasion as the food claims to be, that is always a good sign.

If a restaurant is empty, unless it’s just opened its doors go elsewhere.
This goes for the humble greasy spoon too, a good cafe will always be packed.
