I used to have a reoccurring dream for many years from a child untill ten years or so ago that there was a knock at the front door of the house I grew up in, And on opening a group of men would be stood on the door step holding large shiny knives.
At which point I would turn and have it on my toes into the house and they would then give chase.

The chase would go on for sometime as the three bedroom council house would turn into a huge house that started at the top of a cliff but through a great many rooms and staircases led down to the sea.
I always woke up before they caught me, sometimes just as they were about to.
Then one day they knocked and I thought its them **** with the knives and did not answer the door, and have not had the dream since, although I sometimes still dream I own the same big house that starts at the top of the cliff and works its way down to the seafront sometimes via a massive water slide.

Just out of interest what was the narrowest 650b they looked at?

Vittoria goma tnt at 2.25 but it scored badly.

    The 29″ winner was,
Specialized storm control 2bliss in the 2.0 with a resounding 10 out of 10.

And the 650b winner (drum roll please),
Maxxis shorty 3c exo in 2.3 with an ‘andsome 9 out of 10.

Just get the 26″ version of the tyre they tested.

But the range of 26″ tyres is greater so there may be a better 26 tyre that they did not test due to not being available in 27.5:

I built my five a couple of years ago with no prior knowledge of the mechanics of a modern mtb.

But I am not thick and had google, more specifically parktools guide I found through google.
It’s not rocket science, and the most important tool I bought or two, were a 2-10 nm torque driver and a 10-70nm I think torque ratchet as I am a ham fisted git.

But the park guide if you take a minute to read and understand what it is that you are doing and why you can’t go wrong.

I bought and fitted a five specific hugger to my 2010 last of the straight headtube fives.
Mounted it as close to the tyre as I dare 10-12mm clearance.
Then on depressurising the shock found it fouledthe cable stop end do-berry that is mounted on the back of the seat tube for the front mech cable.

If I drilled a large enough hole in the guard at the point of contact it would have solved this as my do-berry is redundant due to 1×10 but chose instead to remove the guard.

If you believe you are hard done by surely it is best to lodge a complaint, if only because if this officer genuinely went around stopping people for no good reason and all of his victims did the same surely their unreasonable behaviour would then become apparent to their superiors due to a disproportional amount of complaints levied against them.

Is this a road you are not familiar with, if not and you know this road I don’t understand why you would brake aggressively for the potholes if you know they are there.

    Just saying like.

As we neared the car park I instinctively put out both hands to my sides expecting one or both of my kids to take hold. On feeling a small hand grasp my left hand I started out to cross the busy road when I heard a shriek and felt a sudden tug to my left.
Cue one very shaken mother looking accusingly at this would be child abducted who had tried to drag off her little boy

That old chestnut, I suppose that was a banana in your pocket too.

“He obviously didn’t accelerate hard enough” yeah a clear example.of where a fast car would be way safer.

When I was a youth In a borrowed little turbo jobbie took a right at a four ways junction a bit lively causing the tyres to make an “American tyres” sound as I went around.
As I did I saw the police car that stopped me waiting to cross the lights from my right.

Do you know why I stopped you.
I went around that corner a bit fast.
A bit fast, that squealing noise your tyres made meant that they were crabbing and you could have lost control at any time.
    I don’t think so.
I know so, why was you going so fast.
    Because the lights changed.

You’re telling me the reason you were speeding was to go through a red light.
    Yes.
(Laugh) well at least your honest, don’t let me catch you driving like that again, on your way.

I have never had a bad experience with the police even when I have been arrested as I am of the it’s a fair cop rather than it was not me school of thought when I get caught out.
