I due to what must have been temporary insanity. Bought several torches which I have dispersed around the house. I can only hope that 2018 goes down in history as the year of the powercut.

And I need to take up night time trail running as I bought some head torches too.

I remember when my dad asked me to replace a bald tyre on his car with the spare. Then after putting the bald tyre in the boot I pulled out my work knife and sliced it.

He went potty. “What the **** did you do that for, what am I going to do if I get a puncture” I explained that it was illegal to have a bald spare and he could get three points for it.
And when he asked why I said for exactly the reason you just said, you would use it if you got a puncture.

If the tyre has plenty of tread and the puncture is in a place on the tyre that can be repaired I think a tyre place will do the repair cheap enough with a plug. Why not get them to do it.

Come on, a black guy in a puffer jacket. That’s practically an Arab in a suicide belt. No wonder everyone panicked.

I would not take it apart yet, I would photo the strip in situ. Then take it apart once you have the replacement.

Unless you wish to take it apart to see if you can fixit.

To remove the strip You will have to remove the barrel first by removing a long machine screw that holds it in place through the door edge, then using the key to turn it slightly and it will slide out.

If the locking mechanism is kaput and you can get it open you will need a new locking strip.

It’s screwed up almost the ntire length of the door edge.
It should have the lock manufacturers name on it, takes some photos as that system may not still be readily used and send some emails with photos to the look manufacturer and they may be able to help you source the new part.

When I search for WiFi on my phone for instance my phone displays several possible WiFi sources from which I choose the relevant one to connect too.

Is your WiFi connection the only one that can be found in the office, if not tell her so she can feel permanently ill.

I did not get pocket money, I had a Weekend job from the age of 11 (1985) helping my brother and his colleague fit double gazing for a fiver a day. I did it till 16 when I think I was getting £15 a day.

I remember turning up at school on a Monday with £30 in my wallet I felt like Richard Branson.

In 2000 I did a little travelling and when in Geneva I stayed a couple of nights in a Christian hostel where 95% Of there stayers were the homeless with the odd traveller, me and two American girls while I was there.

It opened its doors at a certain time in the evening and the beds were filled first come first serve. There were washing facilities and a warm bed. The homeless stayed for free, I payed a small free ( small compared to Geneva prices.)

You had to be out early in the morning which every one did. The man running it said it again opened for a couple of hours in the afternoon to serve soup for free and I was welcome to come back, Which I did.
While eating lunch i sat and spoke to many homeless people who were all friendly and happy to talk. All the ones I spoke to had presviusly lived a fairly normal life before hand, marriage and kids, one guy an American said he had had it all including a very highly paid job but got into a load of debt which put him under a lot of mental strain and literally did the im just going out, walked out of his front door never to return.

That experience really opened my eyes to being homeless it was not something I had considered before.

They are not some sub species they are people who due to often unfortunate circumstances have ended up with no where to live. And I should image if your life involves sleeping in a shop doorway the thought of getting out of it for a bit on strong lager is quite appealing.
