I nearly ordered one on eBay the same for a saving of 20 odd quid, it would have meant retuning this one to CRC.
But I decided CRC had been good to me in the past and have proven customer service.

I have not used mine in anger yet but think the way you can easily change the settings depending on anticipated burn times is very handy.

My ex brother in laws brother died of an ingrowing toe nail.
Caused some sort of infection which was left untreated untill he collapsed, by which time it was too late and he died.

For commuting I personaly would not want a bright light on my head through concern of blinding drivers and instead would have some thing that would just get me seen. Clicky

But if you must have something more powerful on your canister I would go for a macro duo.

I run the macro duo on my bars when commuting as the flashing red light on the back lights my already bright jacket up like a Christmas tree.Clicky

I have developed a light fetish this year. Bought a lezyne mega drive for commuting and road as I like the ease of just clipping on and off.
And for the mtb I bought a new 6 cell battery from mtbbatteries to use with my solarstorm x2 and joystick mk10 for on my helmet.

The battery was not cheap £76 (compared to 6cell eBay prices)
But I believe you are getting a quality product in comparison at a fair price.
I would not hesitate in buying from them again if/when my solarstorm packs up.

Feel for you OP, I have been suffering this year too with all the same symptoms as you plus constant anxiety.
I have been on antidepressants for six months or so, citalopram for two months before being changed to sertraline.

I was expecting a quick fix hoping they would literally be happy pills but no such luck.
It has been a long road road but I think I am starting to see the light.

See your GP and give what ever they suggest a fair wack as it will take time.

    Wish you well.

people are only buying newer replacements now because they’re bored and like buying stuff.

Ain’t that the truth, last night ordered the x3 in a moment of madness without checking with the internet first.
But now regretting it as unlike the x2 which has lots of t’internet praise posted it is hard to find a good word said about the x3.

Anyone know where I can buy the x2 headband separately.

Have just ordered a six cell jobbie and new charger from http://www.mtbbatteries.co.uk/ to use with my old x2.
A bit expensive but hopefully worth it.

As a side note does any one know how many lumens the ssx2 actually puts out.

Where I live lots of tree lined unlit lanes, the main one cuts through a wood. And are very dark as little moon light gets through the trees. That twinned with the pot holes and my irrational fear of escaped mad axe men makes me glad of the excessive lumens as every one knows rouge lunatics do not attack powerfully lit cyclists.

    It has 300,600,1000,1400 lumens settings,
I thought 300 would be ample for when the roads were lit and and for the unlit country lanes 600, or 1000 which ever suits best.

Why the hell did I buy one of these, I have xt cranks on my good bikes and alivio on my commuter and mud bike so I can use the life time supply of un55s I have amassed.

It would not be so bad but I have only rid a bike once in the past four months due to depression.
On the bright side the fact I am wasting money on bike parts I am pretty sure I will never use may be a sign I am getting better. 😀

These are great little lights, I have one on the bars when on the road. The light on the front is good enough to see where you are going and the red light on the back on flash points back at me lighting me up.

I have heard the best treatment for smelly hands is to wash with toothpaste for that minty freshness.
So I am sure it would work wonders on a stinky helmut.

Sorry to hear you are having such a hard time of it FFJA.
Agree with the above about having a chat with your GP.
Do you have friends and family you can talk to and receive some support.
Can’t comment on your work situation as don’t know how that works but would have thought the emergency services would have support networks in place.

What ever happens I wish you well.
