BKXC (Seems mortal..not doing tail whips 50ft in air all day)
Singletrack sampler (but too much stoke sometimes)
Nate Hills (him and his boys can ride, try the Slickrock one for starters)
    Seth bike hacks
(Have just about got over the Americanness of the above now..)

Tnt did seem slow to update for me too.

Anyways despite moaning about squeaky shock i have enjoyed being overbiked on some über foggy overbiked commutes this week and owe this thread some pics, thanks OP 🙂

TPT with some Steetly Quarry tracks on the way home to test the 140 travel, compared to a hardtail it was a blast and did a couple of lines that I normally chicken out on, those brought on big grins 😀

Looks like the locals had been having fun too, was still smouldering 🙄

Nice bike, coming from old hard tail and 08 specialized fsr xc (yes, harrythespiders comments egged me on to buy too!)
It does work well, did the TPT 16 mile each way commute with no trouble, despite it feeling quite heavy to shoulder it really does have an efficient peddling feel with no bobbing and feels light peddling despite the weight when picked up. Then when doing some proper stuff in 140 mode it eat it all up!
Wolverine tires seem ok so far with just a couple of slides when pushed but have only been in dry conditions so far.

    Hope the pics work!

Wouldn’t linkages be made up with sealed bearings and dry bushes, would they be ok to lube?
TBH it seems to be just as it rebounds and sounds more like something from the shock as if it’s venting something. Hard to explain…

Thorpey. My Trigger 4 has a squeak in rear suspension, thinks it the rear shock trying to get round to calling Paul’s and will see what they suggest.

Let us know if you find anything out

You say going with saloon for practicality but just be aware fold down rear seats seem to an option and aren’t present on many saloons, makes it rubbish to chuck bike in. I have a e46 coupe m sport and have been looking at the newer e92 coupe. All the coupes seem to have split folding rear seats making it more practical for throwing my bike in with front wheel off, or anything long! (cant be arsed with racks!)
And don’t worry about kids too much boot is plenty big enough for most push chairs and putting a baby in a baby seat is actually easier when approaching from the front!
I have had my coupe for 5 years with 2 boys from 1yrs up to 11, no complaints.. In fact they prefer going in that vs our more spacious cmax.

The coupe feels loads more special, try one!

You on the right track with straight 6 BMW petrol, still not bored of mine!

130i for awesome drive (so i hear) while you have no kids, 3 coupe if you want something a bit practical still with a bit of X factor!
You can sell that to the boss too ‘we have to get the coupe, it’s more practical than the saloon!’

The Inception sound track was awesome on this mornings misty atmospheric ride in and the dramatic bits spurred me on down the overgrown singletrack when my legs started slowing past 10 miles!

….and I just go with the natural stuff some days, as you should with 16 miles of tpt all the way to work… No roads and no brummm..brummm at all….! Get fed up with saluting magpies tho 😀

Cutgate is 20 mins away (start at Langsett barn car park) and warncliffe woods just before, am sure google will show you the routes. Both great fun for mtb. Cutgate is best done in the dry, an out and back, long climb and then blast back down.. Great fun. If trying warncliffe then get chatting to locals in the carpark as nothing’s really waymarked.

A bit further gets you to derwent water res, loads of good stuff there to!

    Good luck, have fun.
