Yeh I’ve ruled them out on reach. I’ve just sold a 2016 sb6c as I’d bought a medium and was finding it cramped.

    Cheers for that.

I probably need to save for a few months and sell some stuff and just go for one.

    They’re what I really want.

Bit unsure on sizing too, could do with sitting on a medium and a large.

I’ve got everything except frame as it’s all bolted on a Solaris max at the min (lyrik is at 150).

Haven’t managed to get anything off one to make it viable.

Im also dubious about the warranty.

I’ve already got a top end 51mm Lyrik so would rather a frame designed around a 51mm offset.

I’ve looked at the Bird. I find them ugly and that’s a deal breaker.

Same with the ripmo. Really don’t like the look of them.

    Thanks for the ideas thougb

That Byron looks like a rip off of the Bodum ones. Unlikely to fit I think. Cheers for all the suggestions.

Pretty sure not killing someone is low down on the list of the main tick list of running a successful business that people rate. In fact I doubt its even on the list.

Not annoying your customers to the point they talk about it together on the internet affecting future sales should be pretty high though.

My refund landed on my card yesterday.

17 days since I ordered the wheels originally I can now afford to order some from elsewhere.

    Don’t these bob horrendously?

I thought a single pivot near a BB was a recipe for a bungee like ride?

Good sales pitch- it’s got me looking at them! Do you work for them?

What are people pairing with this on the rear?

Wish they did a Rock Razor 2.6 in 29!

    Assume so.

Prob also end up being on a wave of new ofset Fox 36/Lyrik and everyone will have to fork out £1200 to move to the new latest fancy standard (pun intended)

In theory you should be able to use the boostinators that are for 15mm hubs bu not use the end caps (just the disc spacer and longer rotor bolts).

I’ve not heard of this new 110 20mm boost though, just the 15mm Boost which is kind of the norm now.

Other than length are all the m8000 cranks the same? As in boost and non boost? Its the offset made by the ring or are they actually different q factor?

Some bargains on the 2x ones to be had if all you need to do is swap the chainring out for a single boost one?

Budgets are made to be broken.

By all means ask but don’t expect that much off.

don’t go in saying ‘what’s your best price

    And that!

PS. Do you really want an Evil? Really? Plenty of better ways to spend that kind of dosh IMO

I’m all ears for an alternative?

Similair geometry, work around about a 150mm 29er Lyric. Boost, threaded BB. Low standover for length. Carbon £2.4k budget MAX, that’s stretching my actual £2k budget.

Not aluminium unless it’s VERY light.

I’ve gone part time this year. I’ve got Monday’s to myself…

Left the house at 10am on the mtb. Rode to Sherwood pines. Busted out a couple of laps and rode back. Hit 60 miles 😀

    Legs hurt now!

If there had been an end cap I’d have gone for it as there’s some on ebay for 70 sheets.

As I said I’m gonna buy some 350s

    chilled76

Cheers guys. Just gonna buy 350s and save a ton. I was trying to get a budget 240 front to work as id.managed to source a 240 rear for £70 more than a 350.

I’m building them- got the rims already.

Cool. Thanks- confirmed what I thought.

In which case… where is the best/cheapest place to buy a set of boost 350 28h hubs? Yes 350. This rules 240s out.

Can anyone tell me in basic terms what running this wrong ofset on a sentinel is likely to feel like at low and high speeds?

+1 for buy a brand x. I’ve had a number of reverb and a ks lev.

Bar being maybe a touch heavier the brand x seems as good really at 1/3 of the price.

Won’t be paying £300 for a dropper again in the future

Funnily enough fotorat I normally do build my own. I bought theirs as the 40% off made them super cheap- which I guess caused half the issues in the first place with so many people ordering them.

Scratch that, shows as Pending in Paypal.

    Rant over I guess.

Next question, how long for a pending refund to actually appear?

Emailed me to say order cancelled. No refund has appeared yet. Breathe in and out slowly!!!

I felt like they were replying promptly until I asked for a refund.

Will see I guess. I’ll give it 2 days then go back to PayPal if no response

Not quite how you’ve put it. Bit take your point, chill for a few days and see.

I’m supposed to be doing a big ride next weekend and needed these wheels, ordered them on the 1st. Getting wound up as can’t order new ones until they issue the refund.

My first email refund was in response to them asking as well… which coupled with the last email telling me they don’t have time to respond has wound me up I guess.

Yeh it’s an ironic username. Get wound up easily.

Looks like I’m taking them to small claims court then. They have to pay costs when they lose right?

Hob nob. I’m not so sure. Think of how heavy a camelbak feels with 2litres. You know about it when you put it on.

If you strap that to the frame then you’ve got that permanently on the frame.

Not that fuased about travel. 125-160 as I can change the travel of my Lyrics. Sounds vague I know but will have trade offs depending on whether I’m hauling it around the peak district or using a ski lift.

I can get a Sentinal for a touch over a grand new with warranty. Maybe I should lose 2kg and then it’ll be light?

To be honest if it wasn’t the fork Ofsett being marketed so much eaving a doubt over if it will ride funny I’d just buy it.

470 reach+ on a frame with a sub 460mm seat tube. Slack 66 or less.

    chilled76

Thanks folks. Lots of really useful responses.

Think this is the first time I’ve posted a question and not got half the responses full of sarcastic dribble!

The fork I have is a top end Lyric and I can swap the air shaft out to different lengths.

I’ve gone part time so £3k carbon frames are out these days, trying to find something to have as my one “do everything except xc” bike.

Really want it to be 29, long and slack. But not too fussed on travel if it’s light. But big travel and heavy isn’t really an option.

Anything else I should look at?

Can anyone show me a diagram that clearly shows why reduced offset increases trail please?, my head says it should be the other way around…. which means I have a misconception of what trail is!

Can’t believe how cheap these are in aluminium form? What’s the catch…. weight?

Extra tokens and less pressure will make small bumps nicer. Will ramp up more at end of stroke as a trade off

    Cancelled my order.

They emailed me once to.confirm.whatnit was I ordered. Then emailed me today to say they are out of Stans flow rims and would I wait a fortnight.

Not the end of the world but when stuff is advertised as in stock it annoys me when companies take my cash then turn around and go oops sorry we haven’t got that!

    chilled76

No but after ordering they have emailed me to confirm my order saying they’ve been having issues. Could I confirm I wanted boost basically.
