Thanks guys, yes to padded shorts Terry, it’s a bontrager one that came as stock (trek emonda sl). It looks about the same width as ones I’ve had in the past. It’s not chafing, it’s more making me feel bruised.

Cheers guys, the leasing thing I’d never considered.

Few people mentioned my budget… Don’t recall disclosing that but it’s anywhere up to 8k for something nice and 12k for something really special.

I was looking at a 350z yesterday afternoon before I came back and wrote that rant.

To be honest I hadn’t asked anyone to do any work as what I’ve seen has been such a bad starting point that I’m not interested.

Thanks for all the help folks, I’ll have a look at the cannondales although I’m not a massive fan of the brand. Thanks for clarity on the frames akira… I guess the question now is is there much difference between 3000 and 5000 carbon?

Can anyone confirm which is correct about the frames then?

I’ve got one person saying they are the same, one saying they are different and the sl is better and the other saying the 2016 frame is better?

    chilled76

Yes the 2016 s. That’s a massive help thanks, I’d been told the sl was a better frame. It’s a no brainer then.

Are you 100% they are the same frame? The guy in Evans was who told me they were different… He could easily have been wrong.

Just had a look, any thoughts on a carbon Bianchi with 105? Would need to top up a touch if theyle let me

Thanks for the help, I’ll have a look what they have got

I’ll find out, I think it is c2w but don’t quote me on that. Just text a mate who used it last year.

Thanks for that, I’d heard as much about topping up.

Only at rrp… That’s a bit pants! can anyone recommend a shop that’s good at being helpful in these matters?

I run Hans Dampf front and Old nn rear, not sure what the difference is between old and new? But really rate the set up I have for general trail riding in the peaks and at trail centres.

They might be bomb proof but you are getting towards mileage where piston rings start to wear… I’d pay £1000 more and get one with half the mileage

£1500, just put it in the classified section.

It’s mechanically perfect cosmetically almost new.

Guys thanks for the replies, I’ve decided to sell it as its just a bike and its provoking unwanted memories.

Cheers for the input, that’s exactly it… I’d put it all to rest and its what it’s stirred back up.

Sod it I’m going to sell it. Anyone want a medium banshee spitfire?

I agree junkyard, having had cars nicked in the past its different to having someone enter your private residence in the middle of the night. Anyone who’s been burgled will vouch it affects you for a while afterwards, lying awake listening to every small noise etc.

Having an alarm fitted helps etc straight after but it’s not nice.

My post wasn’t intended to spark a debate about the ins and outs of different thefts anyway, I was wandering if anyone else had experienced similar and if they felt different about the bike after a while?

They didn’t have a brace on the smaller ones iirc… However weren’t 2007 proper four bar where as the one above is a faux bar.

Nice one matey. I’m normally a 43 but went for a 44 as every pair of shimano shoes I’ve ever had are too small.

My dad told me to not jump ships too many times as each time you jump you start from further back. I’m sure he gave me.other advice but this is one piece that struck a chord. It was career advice and although it seems to have put me in a good financial position I now feel salary trapped in a job I’d really like to leave.

Brake fluid is incompressable so shouldn’t be the volume. Might be that there’s less fluid to potentially contain bubbles though but a degassed/demoisturised fluid (straight out of a new bottle) shouldn’t make a difference. Left in a bottle it absorbs moisture from the air in the bottle.

I just hope she can pull a u turn on the scraping of A*-G grades which is completely fit for purpose and didn’t need changing.

It’s good to see she is wanting to pull the free school idea too.

Things can only get better for teachers with Gove elsewhere.

Thanks Tony but I really like the c class estates with the big merc symbol in the grill, REALLY like them. Just don’t have 10k to play with :-(

That E class is butt ugly.

This is what I’m thinking… I’m aware I’ll not be able to sell it on but intend on running it for a few years until it drops.

I was thinking 200k at 6 years old with one owner means it’s sat on a motorway for long periods of time regularly.. which is basically no wear at all?

But I’m also aware it might be a potential money pit?

Cheers guys. No definitely no fraud here. Just bought a lot of kit that I have no proof of purchase. I’ve got photos though and proof I bought the banshee frame.

I’ll guess I’ll find out tomorrow.

Wheelies? Is that a company that will provide replacements? I’d rather have a cash settlement as I don’t want to replace them. I’m giving the sport up as a result of this, not intrested in keeping bikes in the house and I’ll be damned if I’m going through this emotional rollercoaster again by putting 6-7ks worth of kit in an outbuilding again.

If they do insist on replacing them then I may have a brand new bike or two for sale soon. Whole things made me feel sick!

Edit: Two of the posts above didn’t show before I sent this making me sound a bit thick.

I hope thats the case. I’ve got a bucket load of photos and some evidence of purchasing.

Need to get hold of cotic and see if they can re-issue a receipt for the Bfe as that was bought new.

Police have been useless on this. Two of the Bikes have been spptted on the Notts to Derby train 7:40pm journey last night and they aren’t even properly pursuing cctv. Absolutely despair :-( keep your eyes peeled Derbyshire folk please.

Banshee has changed a bit since that photo (so has the kitchen) but it’s similar.

would anyone mind doing that for me please. Need to go and re-secure the garage (not that it stopped anyone in the first place)

The two On-ones weren’t stolen due to one having already been sold and the other not being in the garage.

Prob not, most people did it to get rid of the 24″ rear wheel. Judging by trends at the minute a 24″ rear wheel would be more likely to put people off.

I’d ebay it or put it on pinkbike, doubt he’ll get a buyer on here.

Oh and the boxxers are 04 I think.
