That mileage is amazing. Well done!!

How much bodyweight have you lost in a year doing that?

Colorado is supposed to have some great riding. Never been myself though and of course there’s the upcoming American civil war.

I’ve just re-read and read the whole thread and get the question now, agree with Scardeypants solution.

    2 x sqrt(5^2 – r^2)= Chord length

r in the above is the small circles radius.

Could you maybe start a thread on help with Grammar first? Then we might be able to understand what you are asking?

Just to throw some balance to this as inevitably people will respond if they’ve had negative experiences with xyz…

I’ve had a reverb on the last bike for 4 years, never serviced it and it still works fine (it’s in my spares box).

Got a ks lev integra on my bike currently and work faultlessly.

Another hive user here. Had some teething issues on initial install but once sorted it’s been brilliant.

How’s your nutrition? Are you getting enough carbs post ride to replenish stores?

Drinking alcohol any more than normal?

Sorry to be bumping this, it’s easier than re-posting. Anyone got any recommendations on jackets at all?

    Breathable is a must

Anyone got any good links to ways of altering metabolism to be better at burning fat when riding? I’m presuming fat burning stops being feasible at higher intensities?

    Anyone?

Pasta the night before then 2 eggs 2 wholemeal toast and a banana in the morning for a 4 hour ride with a few gels and a pork pie mid ride usually does me up to a 5 hourer. The pork pie is slow release and lines the stomach to stop yo-yo blood sugar that gels sometimes give me.

I bought used pikes that needed work. Never again, I’ve ended up spending more than a new set would have cost me in sales.

Always worth having 1st owner warranty on forks imho now.

Oh and you can’t bring 85 for a from the previous diagram. If you look on the question on the left a and c complement to 180 but on the right question a and c are 2 out of 3 angles in a triangle so they have to be two separate questions.

Im finding mistakes in questions not quite daily but certainly on a weekly basis at the minute as all the new GCSE material has been rushed in so fast that text books etc have hit press without proper checking.

Loads of mistakes on the pre-release exam material too and on the testable and exam.pro software for building tests. Wouldn’t be too harsh in your note to the teacher, it’ll be the first time they’ve used this question and just glanced at it without noticing the missing angle. Sometimes mistakes happen.

This is aimed at about grade B GCSE. Modern grade 5 (don’t confuse that with levels). You don’t aim work at ages, for example a top set year 7 student is already brighter than some students in year 11. You set work according to ability.

    Have fun debating this chaps.

There is no info stating the non parallel sides of the trapezium are congruent. Which means they can be different lengths.

Agreed if they are assumed the same length you can solve… but that’s an assumption and the diagram would have info indicating it if the author wanted that to be the case.

You can’t use a sine rule you don’t have any lengths. And it’s not to scale otherwise you’d just use a protractor.

In fact just to illustrate, put a ruler along the Base of the right problem. You can change the angle of the ruler and that would change where the line is with 4 unknowns still being labelled the same.

You’ve effectively got two similar (mathematical definition not coloqualistic) one inside the other with only one angle known. The other two must complement to 180 but that’s all you can say unless there is scale in the drawing. But the point of these problems generally is that they aren’t drawn to scale to avoid students measuring the angles.

Original OP, trust me there’s info missing.

Except gone fishing it’s so simple I’m not going to get burnt. If it was a tricky further pure question I’d be cautious.. but this is as plain as adding up.

Seen literally 100s of similar questions aimed at gcse students to test if they understand alternate and corresponding angle rules on parallel lines. Draw it out, you can draw infinite versions of the same problem with the information presented.

Gone fishing, everything you’ve said is right but it doesn’t change the fact you need one more angle to solve the right hand side presuming IT ISN’T DRAWN TO SCALE.

I can confirm what has already been suspected the right side is missing an angle to be possible to solve. I’m a Maths teacher.

First outing on the FAST upgraded ones today and I can honestly say they are the best forks I have ever ridden. Thanks again for the input Tom, really impressed with how supple they are but the damping manages to stop them diving.

    Really controlled and confidence inspiring.

Thanks guys I’ve worked on loads of cup and cone axles. Just looking for advice as I’ve never worked on and xt freehub before and wanted to know if there is a known issue that’s fixable.

Found some videos on replacing one and that’s straight forward.

It’s got lateral play in just the freehub not the whole axle. The first person made it sound like you could nip up the freehub with cup and cone but from the rest of the responses and the video I’ve seen Tey are independent of the axle.

I’ve only seen a video message of it, at first we thought his cassette was loose, theb after removing the cassette you can still see the play in the video when you pull on the freehub.

Next question.. are all shimano xt freehubs the same or does the year matter?

It’s only 2 months old. Does the cup and cone on the axles affect the freehub too?

Yeh it’s so you can get a position that gives fresher legs for running after the bike leg.

    Strange breed

Couldn’t be bothered to read all the responses so apologies if this has been said..

Go for a load of nice scenic rides. And ride to get fitter for progression rather than faster on technical descents. Different take on the same sport for a while.

Zip tie it to my back wheel.

You have to put it close to the hub though or it really slows you down… refer to recent thread on rotating weight for more clarification.

Don’t bother with spacers, it’s messy and not structurally as sound.

Buy a wolftooth boostinator for the rear wheel. Try worldwidecyclery.com

    Info here too

    Boostinator

I’ve done my rear recently for a new frame. Just need to true the wheel over 3mm to compensate.

Thanks op. You have just made me skint lol… not buying the chainset but I now need a frame forks and brakes to go with the wheels and other drive train bits I have lying around lol

Went yesterday an it was running beautifully. It’s often too dry there and the slight damp meant I got a load of PBs

I’m not convincEd this hand anything to do with what handed you are.

You have a foot you favour forward in lots of circumstances. One way to find out which it should be is to stand feet slightly apart and get someone to shove you from behind, you will naturally put one foot forward and it will always be the same foot.

That foot should then be your tenancy when putting it forward on a bike/skateboard etc.

Right handed people and left handed people can favour one foot or the other.

Yeh I was thinking that, seller has already agreed to send them off for warranty in the last couole of minutes but I reckon Tom should be on commission for Fast Suspension as I’m really fancying this upgrade now anyway

I’ve emailed the seller saying do you have the receipt so I can maybe try warranty?

Not me who hilghted anything of the sort matey. If you want to see what standard I am look at the Avalanche Cup Oz En Oisons round from 2006 ;-)

Just had a look back through and can’t find what you are on about. Anyway, far from a beginner but as I said earlier I’m no Gees Atherton either. Probably don’t need the upgrade but whilst I’m paying £90 for a service it’s worth considering on top.
