The small amount of play will be the Bushing, they dont give a lot of play unless its well and truly worn, if you lift it up and get a small tap then its the bushing on the way out. Should be no need to change the top just the bottom.

Just make sure you have a big enough vise to do the job yourself, its easy.

Bottom Bushing!!! Had the same on my Cube so got the bushings and tool from TFTuned, a vise to push it out and new bushing fitted SORTED….no more play.

    Chakaping,

The Original frame was the 2009 one and after coming down the Snowdon Rangers and hitting a small jump the rear stay snapped next to the weld on the brake side.

One thing i will say is on a Cube its very rare, so much so iv never heard of one until i broke mine and there Warranty service was top notch, my local cuvbe dealer just sent the pics to them and they accepted the warranty without ever looking at the frame in person.

Here is my Fritzz, the frame was a replacement under warranty amd a few changes since this pic. Iv got a 70mm stem and Easton Monkeylite DH bars which is a great set up for me.

XT Crank replaced by the SLX Double
RS Lyrics replaced by Fox 36 Van RC2

Overall its still a Bike i love to throw around on the trails and great in corners.

    More details now coming through.

It has been a while since the last TransUK newsletter and we have been busy preparing for the 2011 season. The locations are still being sorted but the GORE BIKE WEAR™ TransWales powered by Mercedes-Benz Vito Sport will take place on the 13-20th August 2011 and start/finish once more in Builth Wells.

John Lloyd is in the process of creating a new course offering all the return riders some new challenges while presenting the newcomers with some excellent riding throughout the week.

The event will have again 5 special stages with the last one being run on the finishing Saturday. That will keep the event open till the last minute and should turn the Saturday (20th August) into a real highlight of the event.

    New for 2011

New for 2011 is the GORE BIKE WEAR™ Prologue Marathon which will take place on the 13th of August at the start location of the TransWales. The approx. 40 km long marathon is not obligatory for the TransWales riders and open to non TransWales riders. The Prologue marathon will give the TransWales riders the chance to get their legs ‘warmed-up’ for the week ahead and non TransWales riders to find out what the GORE BIKE WEAR™ TransWales powered by Mercedes-Benz Vito Sport is all about. Riders will have the chance to test their ‘racing skills’ on a special stage which is based at the finishing location the marathon so that they can get a real flavour of the unique setup of the event. The Prologue Marathon is included in the entry fee of the TransWales or is £ 25 for non TransWales riders. Entry for non TransWales riders will open in the New Year.

Yes food included and if yor doing it without a support crew id recomend it, the food this year was really nice. The Gold opion means they put up a pop up tent but i much prefered taking my own with plenty of space to do my admin, only downfall was the rain but thankfully we stayed in a nice dry barn. 😀

Cheers for the advice Ironhide, i try not to get into pointless arguments 🙄

The simple solution, if you can clear the Doubles on the skills area no problem and do the drop offs on there too then your nearly ready to release youself onto the Freeride park, if you cant then dont do the freeride park until you can SIMPLES 8)

    Pedalhead,

None of it is really technical, it uses trail centres, fire roads,Roads,Double Track,Singletrack, mooreland etc, there is a lot of Fire road but thats to link the stages together but also some lovely natural tracks in the wilderness. By the end of 7 days you will notice a big difference in your fitness well i noticed anyway as there is a LOT of climbing.

    matt23,

Only thing to remember is your riding between 50-85km a day for 7 days, so if your happy to ride the Whyte around over that distance you will be fine but i would recommend a short travel Hardtail thinking of it or if your lucky a Bike with rear lock out, it was a god send on the climbs this year :-).

Sadly they can only work with the space they have and now pretty much all of that is used up with the Skills/Pump Track/Freeride Park.

Well yes i rolled the last and it didnt end very well but cleared the first and i was on a DH Bike so not ideal for a freeride park. TBH if you cant jump then its not ideal as thats the whole purpose of the trail is to provide ample opportunities for the rider to become airborne, throw tricks, and create new and imaginative lines on and over the terrain.

    Less Extreme – Black Trail
    More Extreme – Freeride Park

    Sorted!

In general its all rollable anyway, theres is Big double just before the log section but theres already tracks going around it now, a drop off by the Bridge and oh yeah another at the end which i didnt see 😯 the only downfall and this is what most others thought, its very pedally PEDAL PEDAL PEDAL and most by half way were to knackered to go all the way down. Hopefully it will bed in quick and faster lines wil develope.

When i set mine i wear the kit i would normally wear on the trails on that Bike, that way the sag is set to your riding weight.

Moving from the front to the back, how easy is it to convert a 9mm rear to the 12×142 using the conversion kit. Hope have a video to do the front but not the rear?

Yeah its been out for a while but just a note it DOES NOT affect Wales its only the English Forestry commission which works under a different body to that of Wales.

Well i dont know if it was anyone on here up Snowdon today that i bumped into on the way down while they were walking up but that was awsome, the wind was something else as it was blowing over 60mph at the halfway House so i guess near 100mph on the summit and at some point near impossibe to move forward but it was nice and sunny up there and warm 😯

No pants especially if your in the saddle for a long period of time, i found out the hard way on the TransWales 😆 then again i did forget my assos cream which was not the greatest thing to leave behind 😳

On short rides like a trail centre you can get away with wearing them.

Cheers WBC, i have a feeling i might be feeling a bit simialr to you last year 😀 but its the achievement after last years misery of not riding for 9 months that will drive me on.

I will be on a Scott Spark 20 and in a Vango Beta 250 tent so say Hello if you see me.

Hopefully it will be dry(ish) although looking at the current weather it might not be.

I will always be smiling regardless 😆

I was hoping some of the Old ones that have done the Transwales would be able to help the new ones with advice but obviously no one is doing it 🙄

    Roll on the 14th 😀
