Should be absolutely fine. I’ve been collecting late 80’s, early 90’s bikes for over 15 years and never had a problem getting a headset out. Bottom brackets and seat posts are a different matter!

My sister uses a sim as her only internet at home as the wired broadband was slow. It’s faster and more reliable than Mum’s BT next door.

Absolutely brutal HIIT and Core class yesterday so today will probably be an extended dog walk.

If you haven’t seen, Orange have some good deals on the gravel frames on their website so you have a choice of a few colours. X9 is the same as the RX9 iirc, just sold with suspension. The Speedworks on sale is an older RX9 too from memory? Don’t forget to add the code for another 10% off.

Can’t paste the link for some reason?

I think you get something from the mods. Go chat to them.

    Yay!

Orange are out of admin and back to normal.

Ultimately comes down to which geometry you prefer but having looked at both when I had a gravel bike the Orange was better finished than the Sonder. That’s not to say the Camino isn’t great but it’s built to a price point.

Do I win a prize for suggesting a Stage Evo on the other thread? Looks great and be interested to hear how it rides as I may be in the market for one.

Do they sell well? Seems to be being heavily pushed by manufacturers but I don’t see many out and about?

One of the £900 Orange Stage Evo frames and get it built up to your spec? Merlin were knocking out half price SLX group sets inc brakes recently.

Maybe it’s just me, but that looks like something you’d buy out of Kay’s catalogue

Not just you. The Ripmo is in theory exactly what I need… but look at it?! I’m a visual person so I need a bike that looks nice to me.

Me too, awful. Can only assume it looks better up close? That, or they’re not bothered about shifting the aluminium model as the carbon version looks decent.

Maybe I’m slightly biased against orange, but 3500 quid for that compared to the above linked rocky mountain, the orange doesn’t come close for vfm Imo

It does a little bit when you don’t mention the worse spec Cotic for similar money. This is STW though so that’s okay.

Depends what you want OP I guess? The RM’s are stonking value if that’s all you are bothered about but not if the geometry is not what you want? Out of the bikes listed the Scott’s made me raise an eye.

I’ve got a Pace ht and it’s a lovely thing, built to a high standard and very comfortable. To be honest, I don’t think there will be a million miles between the bikes mentioned so just pick the one you think looks best! Doubt you’ll be disappointed.

I’d agree with the above, it’s in a bit of a funny location, away from the centre and the student life. Not a million miles away but there’s plenty closer. Don’t know much about it but noticed a big block opposite the Merrion Centre that looked nice enough, when I was in LGI with my boy. Near the Arena, Queen Square? As mentioned before, there’s loads that cover all budgets so probably best to go and have a wonder about.

My mate has a 9.6 and really likes it + reckons the Iso-thing does make a difference. He replaced the stock forks with some slightly longer (120mm?) SIDS. I had a quick go and it felt really comfortable and smooth. Front’s a bit low though. He got it to replace a gravel bike too.

I’m in! Hopefully make the hundred after having to drop out with illness with the finish in sight last year.

We used to have the same problem with ours. Turned up the pipe had disconnected from the top and once put back in place it’s been fine. Maybe the pipe needs to drop from the high point to work properly? Sounds like yours doesn’t?

Got my lad a Sky branded one second hand last summer for £150. Very well built and a solid little thing so well worth the money. His is a 20″ one and the only problem we found was that he seemed to grow out of the wheel size before the frame, if that makes sense? Changed for a Cube Acid 24″ this summer which fits better and is also decent.

Same price as earlier in the year but still a good buy.

Backing up what others have said, mine was around 6 weeks and longer than expected. Mine was salary sacrifice though so from memory the delay was down to administration between the parties involved (Work/Lease/Garage).

Cheers guys. Spur was on the list but maybe a bit more trail than I want? Anyway, that’s for a future thread when I’m in a position to buy!

It’s a gravel bike / XC hardtail replacement so wouldn’t be subjected to much abuse. We’ll see…..

Just picked up a Cube Acid for my 10 year old. Chunky tyres, hydraulic discs and reasonable forks + not too heavy. He’s very slight but has no problem chucking it about!

Defo worth going to one of the lakes. Orta is nice and can be reached on the train. Lecco too, my brother lives there and commutes to Milan.

I’m a huge Shimano fan, have it on all my bikes and if the SRAM was mechanical I’d say Shimano no worries. Be tempted by the ASX though, especially if the rest of the kit is similar between the bikes.

I’m like you op and most of my bikes have fitted in to the ‘trail’ category over the years. Scratched the gravel, modern rigid and xc carbon ht in the last few years so current itches are:

Big bike, not dh, possibly electric.
    Properly light carbon full suss.
Maybe a dj for arsing around with my lad.

Still can’t seem to be able to quote but following the reply above and my post on a previous thread, the chap I spoke to in the specialized Store in Harrogate reckoned that the better Chisel was a touch lighter than the cheapest Epic Evo 8 according to their scales.

Without a doubt the initial smoking ban had a negative effect on the pubs in the village I lived in at the time, especially the mid week trade. The pub quizzes and games nights weren’t so much fun when half the attendees stopped coming! Within a few years at least a third of them had shut, a large part down to the drop in trade caused by smokers staying at home.

Things change though and in my current town the pub scene is probably as busy as it ever was, albeit in smaller bars rather than the tradition big pubs. The surviving pubs in my old village seem to be doing reasonably well too these days.

As for an out right ban, from my experience so few people seem to smoke now that I’m not sure it’s worth the agro, is it? If you included vaping I might be more interested but that’s unlikely to happen. I certainly don’t have strong enough feelings to get over excited either way tbh. Having spent a good portion of this year coming in and out of Leeds General Infirmary though, I have also witnessed the people standing outside smoking who are clearly dying from something that smoking isn’t going to help. Blows my mind that one!

For the record, one time 15 a day Marlboro Light smoker, stopped 12 years ago, never been tempted to vape.

Your problem is going to be salary sacrifice I’d imagine as you’ll already be paying for it and the shop will have the money from your employer so I doubt you could back out now?

Mate of mine tested both recently and plumped for the Colibri. He wanted it for similar stuff to you.

Saying that, can’t you just go test them both? They run a demo fleet out of my local Alpkit.

I’d be asking for the £180 or cancelling and going elsewhere tbh.

Defo go with the heart if you are spending a chunk of money. Buying white goods is for functional bikes, bargains and lower end imo. The sort of bike you can let go without any worries or high financial cost and move on to the next.

From memory it was actually labour who changed the rules regarding inspections, after the 2003/4 strikes? We used to spend most afternoons inspecting the main risks in our area but then RRO’s were brought in and the responsibility handed to the property owner. Don’t need so many Ff’s then! Tories are certainly no friend of the fire service but Tony and his tubby, punchy mate did just as much harm and started the race to the bottom.

Just park on the road at the far end of the pleasure beach? That’s where we did last time we had a trip over.

I’d say so. Felt beaten up after the first ride on my latest ht but not really noticed since. 2.6 tyres help!
