You have perhaps confused the term/role with dictator?

Is bi-monthly twice a month or once every two months?

Listen boy there’s a new sheriff in town. The days of you bowling round here like billy big bollocks, flashing your rusty badge, with your “questions” and appeals for clarification are over.

You’ll do well to remember, when the votes come, your name could be the only one on the ballot for as long as I see fit.

The power vacuum means one thing, granny porn is a go.

I’ll put myself forward on a manifesto of more granny porn per thread. Bi-monthly witch hunts/community voted banning of a single member, can’t be voted out two terms in a row! Annual award for most unwarranted, inappropriate and offensive use of language. Flounce of the year etc…

    VW Polo G40.

    G40

A rare small supercharged Q car that packed a serious punch (easily tuned) for it’s displacement. The brakes were dangerously under powered though!

Bought mine off Jet from Gladiators……..not really but she did have one.

    These people hold actual power.

Nah…that’s the beauty of the parish council. Full of power-crazed **** wielding the sum total of zero power, unless this year’s Britain in Bloom entry counts as such

Thank ****. All the people on here who have utopian dreams of local politics run by progressive thinkers, dream on, this is what you get!

    Jacket

I posted a PSA about these jackets way back when I got the older design above, as it was very good for the money. I was comparing it to the top of the range Maddison Addict jacket (has some better design features) with an RRP more than double. Incidentally all the zips failed on my Maddsion jacket!

Ironically I missed the sale (by a week) of the less popular colours, 40 quid a piece (RRP 60). I should have bought a few! TBH I’m not sure the new design is a improvement.

For personal use I’ve used older versions that came boxed on DVD no subs. Office 7 (this one needs updates to run but works once done) and 10. Put-em on multiple machines across different Windows OS’s. Used OpenOffice and Libreoffice so don’t really have a preference, I’ll use whatever’s going.

SH copies of Office 10 must be kicking about cheap. Used previous versions after several OS revisions and out of support, my house did burn to the ground though!

Mines never been snappy fast from new but worked.

When it wouldn’t return under it’s own steam, used to stick about 1/2 way up. I replaced the top bushing under the collar with a Igus bushing (grey instead of white) for a one up dropper and it’s worked fine ever since.

Anyone else hoping that social media is regulated to within an inch of its life❓

Nope. Educating to within an inch of their lives maybe. It’s already happening. My son was educated on bias and other manipulative practices at a publicly funded high school.

I think the current mess will run for about 20 more years. The generations coming up aren’t going to accept or be taken in by the same things. That’s not to say they won’t be taken in!

I think the divide is fine as is. Commercial parallel universe with it’s Ridiculous Retail Prices and the let’s have a **** row (heated debate) about everything.

I think there is one of those divides on this issue. Those who work in corporate environments seem ecstatic and can’t wait (OMG money is such a pain blah blah), the rest not so much.

It’s a favourite telly box news feature thing about every fives years or so with jubilant reporters, banking people and government officials claiming a glorious new dawn is imminent.

They seem so desperate to get the public on side.

I’ve ended up with a old overpriced (a bit cheaper than the big names) MSI 1050 Ti because of this shortage. My existing card fried itself last week.

Was going to buy from Aria PC but they shut their showroom a couple of years ago after some dodgy financial dealings and there are reports of them not accepting returns or issuing refunds. The second big Manchester based supplier with a dubious history, the other one disappeared without a trace!

Perfect storm of covid, bitcoin miners and scalpers/arseholes inflating prices to silly levels.

If it fits you those Octane One Zircus frames are hard to beat for the money. These type of bikes usually have short chain stays 385-400mm not what trail bikes typically have!

The top hats might be OK, but if it was me, I’d replace the lot. TF will be the best place to start.

Yup do that it’s not worth **** about putting it back together to find you still have some play!

As you have an industry standard 15mm eyelet shock. You could replace the tops hats with a solid dowel (3 piece hardware), top hats and ceramic bushing/s (harder wearing alternative of what you’ve got) or roller bearings if high rotation. All you need to know is the width (should be in your bikes spec) and the bolt size, most commonly 6 or 8mm.

Make sure the new eyelet bushing and hardware is properly centred and don’t forget to blue loctite the bolts (just the threads!) or they will keep working loose and damage the bolts, shock and/or your frame!

Ruling out the pedals and BB itself……. when I have had loud cracking sounds coming from my various (four bar horst link) FS bikes, nine times out of ten it has been seized main pivot bearings. I find it is the main pivot (next to the BB) and the ones next to rear axle that go first, whilst the upper linkage ones last a lot longer. Of course this varies with different designs, uses and operation hours.

If the shock bolt has got bad fretting wear you should replace it when changing the hardware/eyelet bushing. This is one of the reasons frame bearing replacement costs so much. The fasteners are mostly soft alloy and it’s not unusual to find damaged hardware, especially where things have seized or worked loose during operation.

Good luck getting to the bottom of it!
