@funkmasterp PM sent re Loft Lyriks

Unlucky I made him an offer he can’t refuse. Let’s just say it involves a night at Cheadle Premier Inn!

This has been done several times over the years. There used to be few apologists who used to act like it’s all brilliant, like there’s never any problems.

You’re just not jumping through the right hoops. You know like juggling water in a hurricane on a unicycle, subject to change when the intermediary site owners see fit! It’s like a triple whammy of shit dealing with corporate arseholes variable fees/terms and entitled braindead dickheads.

Let’s face it not many on here will be priced out.

It’s the home of spare Lyriks in the loft, barn conversions, holiday lets, designer watches, Audi RS6 and tyre mountains.

STW is responsible for market over valuation/hype/RRP due to buying double/triple just in case and cleaning everything out in sales!

One thing the pandemic has proven is that desperate consumers will climb over each other to purchase at any price.

Part of the Range Rover shuttle districts. Dull and pretentious in equal measure.

Does have a decent BMX track, a cycle network that links to equally dull suburbs and unremarkable parks.

Edit: There’s a nice set of office suites next to the bypass and John Lewis down the road.

    Not going to happen

    shame.

One thing that I have noticed over the last couple of years is that some people expect you to take a side on everything.

Yes it has got worse than it was. There was always a handful of misinformed big mouths, but now there’s tag teams high fiving each other in and out of threads. Certain threads send them into PR/propaganda overdrive!

The prevailing view in some quarters is that the lever reservoir volume is insufficient once the pistons start extending. Leading to air being drawn into the master cylinder.

This is what I think. Both my Shimano brakes are completely dry at the caliper end, including numerous sets of pads over years and yet I still end up with an air gap, at the master cylinder, after as little as a ride. I’m constantly bleeding them!

Both sets (Deore and SLX) produce bubbles constantly at the lever. I’ve tested it by bleeding it for lengthy periods. A lever pull instantly produces little bubbles in the bleed bucket, it never completely stops, no matter how long you persist!

One small (Hopefully) request. If I report a post would it be possible to get some vary brief feedback or even just an acknowledgement?

LOL yeah so they can pick holes in it.

I’ve not reported any posts since I’ve been on here. Had a few of my full and frank exchanges deleted without any direct insults coming from me.

I don’t always agree with moderation decisions but understand it’s a difficult thankless task and is not always going to fall in line with my view of things.

I’d be interested to see who reports and what frequency displayed next to their username!!!

When you live on a diet of vampire/zombie/espionage/superhero films and US streaming services it tends to rub off. As opposed to the British pensioner box with it’s baking, knitting, ballroom dancing and handicrafts. All the other channels now doing variations of how to get rich, isn’t it great to be rich and aren’t the poor feckless ****, it’s all their own fault isn’t it!

Don’t worry as long as it’s in private hands you won’t be getting it at cost or anywhere close to it.

Not seen the Jimmy Carr thing. Although he never struck me as being stupid enough to drop himself in it without context.

Humour around racial issues can be done. Very NSFW though…..

Basically they don’t trust people in construction to pay their tax, so take it at source.

A system to get tax off people in the bottom echelons of employment yet there is no workable solution to rich people not paying, who’d have thought it!

Thatchers and Blairs early years,no real change that made a difference.

The Blair government picked up the baton from the Tories and carried on with slum clearances (Regeneration), RTB sell offs and selling off sections of council estates to private developers with gusto. They blanket condemned perfectly serviceable housing up and down the country (mainly up), in areas which had been intentionally underfunded for years. They paid residents peanuts, less than what a garage costs in some cases! They also accepted fronthanders from developers.

We may all be a bit poorer than we are now but we’ll still be a darn sight better off than most of the planet I expect.

Funny isn’t it how we are encouraged to compare ourselves to conditions in third world countries as though we should be bloody grateful, as though no further progression is on the cards. It’s like we are being conditioned to put up with any old shite.

    Already mentioned:

    Titanic Plum Porter – Obviously!!!
Williams Bros Fraoch – Great session beer
Wye Valley Butty Bach – +1 nice easy drinking
Tiny Rebel Stay Puft – +1 might be a bit too sweet for some
Weetwood – Eastgate – Sweet and malty.

    I’ve been mostly drinking….

Bradfield Brewery Farmers Blonde, Brown Cow and Belgian Blue
    Gower Power
Isle Of Arran Sunset or Blonde
    Cross Bay Sunset
    Hopback Summer Lightning
    Summer Wine Oregon
Faversham Steam Brewery Whitstable Bay Red IPA or Organic Ale
    Exmoor Gold.

All of the above are top quality and amongst my favourites. You won’t go wrong with any of them!

Pitching up was common BITD. Pitch control on a turntable was pretty limited, with no time stretch. So you were somewhat penned in, without reverting to cuts or it sounding silly in a mix of other tracks!

Double and halftime (like Dubstep) was a thing even then.

Perhaps STW can start the revolution.Stranger things have happened.

First we must define what revolution means in this day and age. What constitutes a revolution. Apportion blame then then then then change the subject.

We’re keen to get away this year on a big holiday

You and nearly everyone else. I predict a mass exodus this summer.

Back to Bodrum, Zante, Shaggerluf, Ibeefa, Benidorm and the Dominican Rep. The indignities of a British holibobs with a caravan shower curtain stuck to you whilst washing your body with a dribble of water inside a cupboard. The glorious days out in howling gales and pissing rain no more. 24hr cheap booze, all-you-can-eat and perma sunshine around the pool.

No one mentioned landbanking and the effect of dwellings being treated as investment vehicles. They were lightly regulated (less so now) and in some circumstances subsidised and given tax breaks, therefore encouraged by successive governments for years. Why build council housing when you can get the private sector to ruthlessly manage these people.

We have a generation of politicians with the same conflict of interest as their core voters!
