    Here I go..!

    TurnerGuy – Member

be aware of cyclists and motorcyclists who may be passing on either side

they may pass, and I need to be aware that they are passing so I don’t swerve into them but if they cut in and take my braking distance and cause me to break, they would fail their test.

    Next?

    Turnerguy,
If you spot a motorbike with your excellent all-round observation, why wouldn’t you increase your braking gap to accomodate the inevitable overtake?

Theres nothing else to talk about before the spears get chucked, the bikes get rode and the sweat starts to fall.

Once the gun goes off all the ‘wifi not working’ ‘big queues at macdonalds’ and ‘theres illegals guarding the venues’ will be forgotton.

Shame we wont all have to get up in the middle of the night to watch the canoeists winning gold. That was kinda fun!

im sure someone will be along to correct me, but aren’t disc brakes supposed to work with heat dissipation?
roughing up the discs will wear pads quicker but not neccessarily enhance braking.

surely cleaning the crap off discs without scratching them is better?
i use the rubber-type blocks as already mentioned to clean/polish my discs. these are more for buffing than ‘roughing’

when i have had a couple of redbulls in the past, they were on nights out, with vodka.

The side effect was that i woke up without a hangover early the next day but then the hangover would kick in mid afternoon, with an accompanying bout of un-characteristic aggressiveness, not violent but definitely more argumentative.

i didn’t like that so stopped with the redbull and upgraded to gin 😀

Could it be that BT engineers take on the role of ‘socket fitter/ technician’ as part of their duties, rather than delegating the task to lesser mortals?

Over 800 innovations were submitted as new ideas last year, most came from your grunt ‘technicians’.
Perhaps they didn’t realise that according to you, ‘thinking’ is not part of their job description.
But then there we have it, the job description actually contains the word ‘engineer’ not technician.

Are you a desk jockey letters-after-your-name engineer sitting sucking your pencil with feet on desk dreaming of solutions to problems that don’t exist?

I think it’s your perception of a bt engineers job that is the issue veedub.

what happens when situations fall ‘outside of paramaters’?

does the bt engineer call the ‘super-engineer’ to find a solution, or does he find a way to get a successful conclusion by himself?

BT engineer technician was due at 8.30am – he phoned at 8.15am to say he’d be 15 mins.

    FTFY

    How is that fixed?

Whats the difference between an engineer and a technician, in your opinion?

cant see any comparison myself, two completely different vehicles. different control techniques, different speeds, different risks, different risk control measures, different laws governing.

    different*

*except for number of wheels – the same, mostly.
