what paint you using yunki? plus what john said.

i find tamiya acrylic paints dry far too fast (i.e even on the needle), need quite a bit of thinners

Games workshop paints are ace, again need thinning down to get the right consistency.

play play play, is the only way to get better at airbrushing, load up the pot and dial up different pressures and spray up old bits o newspaper, going round the photos etc to get the feel of it.

i use the finest needle for my modelling work.. 0.3mm or something.

Thanks for the kind comments guys, i’m quite pleased how the sherman has turned out, especially with my sausage fingers!

Seems like some of you guys better dust off the boxes, get the gloo fumes rising and crack on with those half-finished German tanks and planes!

..and let see some more pictures!! 🙂

how can a fix for a website bug be against any rules?

apart from the problem being a deliberate admin approved spammer-type thing?

deliberate attempt by admins to get more page impressions?

very quiet from them, absence is deafening

Apparently its called Barford St Martin because..

the name “Barford St. Martin”, this nickname stemming from the regiment’s practice of christening tanks with the names of public estates in their home county of Wiltshire

I assume other regiments named their tanks for different reasons.

I have airbrushed it, with a cheepee kit, but a reasonable compressor, from ebay.
I’m a bit of a noob still with the airbrush, but practice is making me better.

This is my 4 or 5th attempt at a model since last year, of various types, each one finishing up a little bit better than the last.
All i would say Matt, is ‘have a go!’ Try something cheap but not too small to start with, build up your paint stocks/tools etc slowly. research youtube for tips on weathering etc.
i also like the tanks and bots from games workshop, plus the paints.. you can really experiment with colour schemes, effects etc.

Make sure you show us your plane mikkel, i’ve already started my next one, a BF109 emil, in 1:32 scale.
I like bigger scale planes, less fiddly tiny bits for my fat fingers!

    I struggle with long sentences.

when going outside after dark there are two well known hazards that the average person should mitigate for every time.

    bad drivers and zombies.

you KNOW that you are likely to be run over by a stupid SMIDSY driver so you must help them to see you, and also help yourself avoid being inconveniently dead, by wearing something bright.

For Zombies, you need a chainsaw.

If you come off worse in a confrontation with either, without heeding this sound advice, you must accept some of the blame.

great, I wear em all year round.. exmoor summers etc.

some may moan that they aren’t as waterproof as they’d like, however if my feet get wet for whatever reason (riding across tarr steps).. at least my tootsies don’t get cold.

oilstone and tea towel for me, plus a good steel, keeps my Dick in tiptop condition.

sharpening machines/gadgets are for sausage fingered sheep.

oil or washing up liquid on stone, using a ‘cross the blade’ motion, never along. keep both sides at the same not-too-shallow angle and take your time.

    oh, and mind your fingers!
