My first go is under way in the fermentor. It is Brewkit Linthwaite Pale Ale I think. A 2 can kit. I am considering getting a second fermentor and syphoning into that for a week. I was told this was a good way to avoid sediment.
    Good thread

The Beach Boys have no need to present anything new. They are a piece of pop music history. I am not even a big fan but I know that they made some of the most elegant mind-blowing records of all time. It was amazing to see them together after all the ups and downs they have been through.

I also think PIL are brilliant.

Muse dont do it for me

So each to his own and bravo to Jools Holland as ever

I love it. Very original and mildly funny.Seems like the Norwegians are pretty good at taking the p out of themselves.

Im on 9 points at the moment. Obviously respecting the limits at all times now. It’s amazing how many people don’t like sitting in the queue behind me and go blazing past at double the limit into the endless empty road ahead.

Im now so jaded by them that I can only enjoy the most hardcore argentinian snuff deathbiking clips. It amazes me how much time, money and effort so many people expend for a few minutes exposure on You Tube.

There’s absolutely loads of good riding around Shipley, Bingley, Baildon, Ilkley Moor,Ogden Moor, Oxenhope, Hebden Bridge without really needing to drive.
I’m not that local anymore but I’m sure someone will be along with route info.

I don’t care one way or another about strava.

    I do care about:
People who publicise and thereby threaten access to cheeky riding.
People who straighten out lovely, narrow, flowing singletrack.

Guns don’t kill people, rappers do.

I agree with a lot of what you are saying in this thread kaesae. I believe that our species will have to undergo massive changes in the direction of peace and co-operation instead of conflict or we will not see this millennium out.

My wife broke her ankle 13 months ago and while the bones healed up nicely (6 weeks in plaster)she still has a variety of painful soft tissue problems and lack of ankle mobility. To be honest she hasn’t been very keen on physio stuff which may have been a factor so I would advise you to get some good physio and stick with it.

You can see why there is a massive market for good coaching. So many riders feel they are lacking in bike skills, me included.

I would urge perseverance to anyone taking on Infinite Jest. I just run out of superlatives describing it – used to think it was the best book I’d read by a living author but sadly that’s no longer the case.
It can turn into a ballache if you’re dipping into it each evening. if you’ve got a clear run at it, like on a holiday say, then you’ll steam through it.

Thanks for the wise words, I will try harder.
