    Rudeboy, what an apt name.
Things are much more relaxed up in Leeds. You southerners need to take a communal sauna together and sort out your pent up aggression with some towel whipping and a baby oil rubdown.
    Seriously here are the rules:
    1. If he’s fat then you should be able to drop him.
    2. If he’s inconsistent in speed then slow down let him past and then overtake at the next long clear stretch.
    3. If the lights are really so close together that you can’t make any distance on him, then relax as you are all going to arrive at your destination at the same time.

Locking your back wheel is a stupid thing to do.
And before you say “Things are different in London”, yes I agree. It appears many of you are testosterone laden t0$$ers, Captain Flash excepted who appears to be a fine gentleman.

Is that Peavey system 100w RMS per channel? OR is it PMPO or is is 100W combined on both channels?

Also for a large room, I would say getting the speakers above head height is important, otherwise you are just deafening the dozen people next to the speakers, and nothing travels to the back of the room.

Thats not far off the size of my village hall!
Its about 10x the volume of my living room, and I have a big living room (7×3.5×2.5).

I reckon you will need a PA. I am sure Michael will check his revision notes tonight and give you a definative answer 8O

Michaels right though to suggest hiring a PA system, they are really not expensive.

which is why I asked for the dimensions!

    rough dimensions of room are?

40w RMS will easily fill most rooms, but might struggle with a village hall type room.
You might be better trying to buy a stereo amp with two pairs of speaker outputs if you can. That way you can have 4 speakers working at half power in different spots of the room.

Right to be sacked. I work in purchasing and every freebie I get goes to the company charity raffle. Mind you the best I ever get is a bottle of whisky or wine, never a telly.
The bloke is a dishonest plonker to think he could get away with stealing a telly.

I would say yes is the answer.
I think (Chemistry degree modules over a decade ago!) that a monomeric fluid is NOTHING to do with the molecules being made of monomers, rather to do with the homogeneity of the liquid.
I would say that a monomeric liquid is composed of a consistent uniform molecule.
The molecule would have the same formula, but would also have the same branch structure and configuration. Also I think it would have the same number of double bonds etc and arrangement of CIS/TRANS components.

Please let us know the the proper answer when you find it.

JUNKYARD…BLACK WEDNESDAY. Not “Black September” or “Black 1992” or even “Black, oh poo our kids are gonna be paying for this in 20 years time”.

The Tories made a mess at the end of the 80’s and very early 90’s, but the collossal screw up that Broon and his muppets have led us into will dwarf anything in the last 30-40 years. And yes I know it’s partly global, but you only have to look at the £ today to see that Labour have left us knackered as a country.

Not hard to improve on the Texan corrupt monkey.
He inherits a tough “gig” though.
Its kind of the reverse of the UK a decade ago.
Labour stole the credit for John Major fixing the economy. Now I only hope that the Yanks memories are not so short that they start baying for Obamas blood in 2 years because the country is still feeling pain caused by Dubbya.

Oi…el bouf! Thats the white trash sink estate that spawned me.

You sound foreign with a name like el Boufador, wouldn’t be welcome in seacroft.

Maybe I need to try it again, and savour it a little more. I think it’s a bit like Krug champagne, bloody nice but not much different to stuff costing a lot less.

Toxicsoks lists many of the worst areas, but misses many of the really grotty bits near the Uni. For example I would much rather live in Seacroft than Woodhouse moor!

Ton ride would be a good idea. You know where I live (next door to Dan and Gill, you had just gotten the beige on-one when we met at their house once!).

    8 bikes since 1992.
    Sold one (Old Marin Palisades)
Built a bob jackson racer, but swapped it for a Orange Clockwork (still in service).
Bought a custom 853 framed MTB made by a guy callet clarke I think, but sold it to fund my bestest bargain ever…a vitamin T with full XT for £600!
Had one stolen (my beloved Vitamin T).
Then bought a Merlin Rocklobster, still in regular use.
Then added a Stumpjumper FSR in 2005 (still in use).
More recently added a road bike to the list.

I think thats pretty restrained…8 bikes, four of which I still use.

You need local advice on where to live.
If wanting to live in North Leeds near the Uni then Meanwood has some nice bits and is good for trails.
Avoid at all costs the area near Chestnut avenue, its the most burgled street in the UK and is in the centre of a grotty area.
Cookridge and Horsforth is also nice.

If looking for a slightly different feel, try south Leeds. I live in Woodlesford and can be in centre of Leeds in 10 mins by train.
Much of south Leeds is crap though. In fact me and Ton live in the only nice areas!
If minted, then the area north of the ringroad is the area of choice, but its a fortune.

Avoid east leeds (I grew up there…Seacroft/Crosgates/Gipton) as there is nothing for a student other than the 56 bus into the centre of leeds.

Leeds is a nice City and if you come I hope you enjoy it. I had a great time at the university there.

Surely taking the kids out on bikes is one of the best bits of being a parent?
Seeing them get better every year at an activity I (we) love is a great feeling.
Reckon I have a couple of years left before the eldest (10) leaves me for dust.

Only ever tried Blue Mountain once, in Bettys.
Thought it was OK, but not even close to being worth the money.
    Now a good Sumatran coffee…yum!

Never had a proper bike as a kid (made up for it since!). I bought my first proper bike, a 1992 (1993?) Marin Palisades with luminous yellow forks for £350. Never looked back since and have always considered myself a cyclist ever since then.

no need to waxoyl or anything. Steel used for frames is not really susceptible to massive corrosion due to the alloy used and treatment of it.
You have to really abuse a frame for it to corrode in this way.
