For comparison, anyone care to count the sensors that keep the engine running on my A2 FSI:

Car currently off road due to injector problems. Main problem is that you have to half remove the engine to get to the injectors!
Lovely car when it works though, much better than the N reg Fester that the garage have lent me.

Saw it yesterday. A return to form for me.
Crazy-legs above sums up the problems with the recent Bonds perfectly.
Took the family (who are not Bond fans). They all enjoyed it so much they said ” can we watch quantum of solace when we get home”……oh dear, my wife summed it best by her surgical observation “This one has a different director”

So, go see skyfall. Let Sam Mendes do the next 3 Bonds and we will all be happy.

    Very common occurence are miscarriages.
Its horrible and emotionally draining, and hits you with a wave of suddenly none existant potential and plans.
Its normally because of solid biological reasons, like natures reset button when things go wrong.
If its any consolation ( and I doubt much will be at the moment), every single person that I have known that has miscarried has gone on to have at least one beautiful healthy baby in the years that followed.

Good luck and thoughts to you and your family.

Consider Steeton, Silsden or Conningley, much prefer them to skipton.

Protrek and Gshock are nice. Casio are my most trusted watch brand.
However for the more discerning gent, you really should consider a nice Oceanus:

    TITANIUM:TICK
    ATOMIC:TICK
    ANALOGUE:TICK

Also has saphire crystal and an alarm.
    Best watch ever.

Worcester Bosch combi boiler with Danfoss wireless stat/timer. Its flippin brilliant. Fitted last year with TRVs everywhere but the bathroom at the same time.
Thermostat is in living room. downstairs is openplan so we have all the trvs set to 5 (max) and let the danfoss unit control the temp. Then the bedroom trvs we set to 2-4 depending on preference.
The whole thing runs on a tiimer a is very easy to set. It has an intelligent feature where it learns the thermal curve of the house, so turns the boiler off just before desired temp is reached, meaning that the radiators are still hot enough to take you that extra degree or so to the set point….very clever!

Grating roughens up the cheese molecules and activates the micro surface, just like in the Pantene advert.
If Oakley made cheese…..so much marketing bs!

Would say Israel, but being a scientist, who also drives I would be wary of every motorcyclist for ever if I criticised them (they have nasty magnetic things that go bang if you upset them…apparently).
Tesco ARE the worst of the retailers, absolute bullies of the retail world, and deserve all they get.

Sony….will never buy any of their products ever again (ok maybe a ps4) …. proprietery locked in crap designed to be expensive and redundant before you can breath. At least Apple support for years.

    loving this thread.
My dad always said that the fox and grapes pub on the A64 near leeds/york was part of the nuclear network, either for coms or near a bunker. Never believed him as a kid, but the location is perfect for something!

He said “you deserve all you get” he didn’t specify execution.

Presumably there is no limit on “all you get” and it can include anything……….rape, torture, death,

If you break into a house and the housholder is home, I would set a very high threshold of what was classed as excessive in how the housholder chose to respond. Kinky, probably not, lethal? Hell yes… if threatened.

Booked to go to florida next year, peak time.
For four of us including midsize car and reasonable hotel its come in at just under £4500.
Then theres theme park tickets and spending money on top.

Bloomin expensive, but next year is a once in a blue moon treat!

(Still good value compared to my recent £2200 business class to Dubai).

    bwaarp…no great frontiers?
    Pish!
Scientists and engineers are smashing down frontiers at a faster rate than our species has ever done.
Theres more to frontiers than colonising space. For the 99% of us that are not pushing these boundaries, thats no bad thing as progress needs a society to develop in, and you are society.

Dont buy new, its crazy dead money. Buy a nice 2 to 5 year old car and keep till its 10 (or first huge bill after 10).
I do all my own servicing and most repairs and like volvos as they are nice to work on. VAG group cars are also well made. Wouldnt touch Nissan or french as I know too many people who have had big bills from these.
Currently running an xc90 and an audi A2.
Before that had a 14 year old V40 with 175000 miles….only sold it cos the xc90 arrived!

Would never take a dog to a trailcentre on a weekend or bank holiday, but my lab bloody loves riding with the bikes. After first five minutes of giddyness she is very well behaved and runs to the wheel. Of course taking her isnt necessary, but neither is adults riding bikes on manmade trials.

Never had any problems with her or the people I have met when out with her.

Captain, I have found that the reported speeds can vary from actual real world performance by quite a bit.
So I have a selection of 4gb to 8gb cards of varying speeds. I test them by filling the buffer up in the slr by continuous shooting and then seeing how long it takes to clear.
The few sandisk ones i have from 7dayshop.com and amazon have been fine.
The sevendayshop other brands are more patchy.
Toshiba branded cards that i have are great.

In real world, Most of the modern fast cards are utterly fine, but there is a need to have your best card always in your best camera!

It’s weird, I too believe that Leeds has the best fish n chips in the world, even better than the ones from the coast.
Apparently, there are some good ones up in the NE too near the coast.

have a feel of the bag all over to see if there are any clumps of feathers hiding! The feathers are loose and can be unevenly distributed. Have a couple of alpkit down bags and they are nearly as nice as my two rabs.
