Thanks guys, I understand the uplift stays open to the end of Oct weather dependant. Any more route suggestions welcome, don’t mind driving for half an hour to pick up another trail. Cheers.

Hey mate get a set of coil shock Rock Shox Domain, they are heavier but with steel stanchions so will be alot more durable, I had a set of lyrics, they started to wear and got rub marks.

I replaced them with a set of 180 domains, they are bomb proof if you dont mind the extra weight.

I would recommend the nuke proof mega. built mine up with fox dhx 5.0 air shock and 180 domains, nice set of wide bars, I have used it for riding up snowdon, uplift days and all day rides in the peaks and lakes.

    Awesome versatile bike.

I have a nukeproof mega and ride it pretty hard up the lakes and peaks, sounds like they will do the job.

    Cheers for the feedback.

How do you find the 1 1/8 steerer, do you get any flex out of it?

good feedback guys. I am a bit nervous of running a 1 1/8 steerer tube, would prefer to have a tapered steerer with 180mm domains……………do you think that would be too slack for all day rides, i do alot up the lakes and the peaks?

    Cheers

I have a tappered set of 160mm lyriks, however I am considering a set of 180 domains.

    with a 180 mm fork and a 44IISS are you limited to a 1 1/8th steerer tube?

as said before internet price match them.

Chillfactor branch gave 4 free spokes so that I could mend my back wheel…………..I have no issue with them.

I usually ride the Hope triple 8 route and the Ladybower route, I’m Manchester based. Some of those descents look pretty awesome, would love to ride them.

Nukeproof Mega, 150mm on the back and can take upto a 170mm fork. I have a 160mm Lyric on mine. Climbs like a XC and descends like a mini downhill, awesome bikes. Got my frame for £950 with an anodised finish. Would highly recommend.

No that was what they were willing to give me cause they couldn’t locate a frame, I suppose as an offer of good will. The shock alone is worth £260 rrp.

Good point, though I do reckon it was a dodgy frame to start with, my best mate is a mountain bike instructor in the Lake District and has the same bike for longer than me which is well used with no issues.

My main gripe was the lack of like for like replacement.
