TSR-2 Cancelled by Harold Wilson because it was too good. His friends/paymasters in The Kremlin told him that it would upset the balance of power because it was far superior to anything they had, so it had to go. Sod British jobs when the Red Flag is sung.

I went to Woodvale Aerodrome, just outside Southport. Saw allsorts of things. The helicopter display guys were there, a Spitfire landed, Red Arrows gave a private display, what could have been a ME109 flew over, then last of all the Vulcan flew over at tree height for some wing wobbling. Much better than going to the show, and it was free!!!

SRAM 971 are good enough. CRC are selling a pack of 3 for £39.99.

It's no harder than Llandegla Black, which is generally considered to be vastly overrated. It's about the same level as Penmachno Red, and easier than Gisburn Black, but on a level with Gisburn Red, although in parts it's easier than that.

It might be the hardest thing down there, but that doesn't mean it's black graded.

That ain't a black trail. That's just routine singletrack. Not worth a special journey.

I think a Hope adaptor "A" should do the job. Give Hope a ring. If you tell them the number stamped on your caliper they will tell you which adaptor is needed.

Why not just knock what it would cost you off the asking price. They'll rip the things out as soon as they get in anyway.

The Blades aerobatic team are very good

Just been watching them practicing. Made me dizzy, and I was in the car!

Mate of mine won Bronze medals at two Olympic Games in the team competition. Moscow, and another that I can't remember. I had a go with his bow once. Couldn't draw the thing! All sorts of bits sticking out for balance, but it was still wobbling all over the place. He must have been damned good to use it, and get to that level.

I think their new P7's have three bolts as standard

Yes they do. Not sure what size they are, but probably 5mm.

Thought it might be best to give indications of desires on here so that we can decide what we fancy.

To set the ball rolling I'm happy to go to Gisburn on any date in November. Anyone else like to join a private party?

There's another thread about this here.

Doesn't seem to have been any follow up though.

Rims are DIRTY. Paint on floor, and logos and valves are not lined up.

    Shoot the man.

Is it the done thing to crash another poster's thread?

Just post a pic of your bike and see what happens. Good luck!

OK whose up for a group booking then? and when?

I'm interested in learning how to ride rock garden type things better than I can. (Actually I can't really ride them at all!) Almost any Saturday will do me. Mail me if you want to discuss.

If you're talking about the one on the skyline in the far distance that is indeed Great Gable.

Why didn't you offer to do it for her? You'll never know what she'd have paid for the personal touch.

My Pikes wouldn't accept the crown race onto the flared bit at the bottom of the steerer. Tried everything, but it just wouldn't go on. Finished up filing down the bulge. Now fits perfectly.

Ideally i would like to have a set of revs with u-turn, crank it down for climbing etc and then back up for those techy trail stuff

That's what I'm running. 140 Revs which I turn down quite a lot, and forks came with remote poplock which I also use far more than I thought I would.

I've just bought one. Damned fine bike in my less than expert opinion. Probably a better bike than I am a rider! I've stuck a pair of Revs on it and it rides very nicely indeed. Climbs like stink. If you're anywhere near NW and need a large maybe you could have a spin.

I remember doing a car rally with a stage that started at the top of the Belmont Road, and went along the rough stretch, past the Pigeon Tower, under the Pike, past the kennels and finished somewhere near where the cheeky track across the moor goes. Can't imagine that getting permission nowadays. Tony Pond came in his souped up Metro. Put the fear of God into everyone.

Pjay/Coffeeking – where do you get those plates from? CRC don't seem to have them, but I'm not sure what they are called. Any clues?

If you've got ISCG tabs on your b/b then the chain can get stuck between them and the spider when your chain goes into suck mode. That is a real pain to sort out. Anyone know a way of stopping that happening?

Correct name is George's Lane. Still classed as a road (or BOAT or whatever) and that's why 4×4 drivers keep ruining it.

That's also a 20mph speed limit zone is it not? Designed to protect cyclists and trippers on foot I think.

I heard that a lot of the problems are in the charging. Most chargers work too fast, and whilst they re-charge in a hour rhis is not good for the longevity of the battery. Look for a slow charger then your batteries will last longer.

OOOH Hammerite thinners. Lovely stuff. Ethyl methyl ketoxime is the active ingredient in the paint. Not to be messed with if you want a long and happy life, but definitely not to be thinned with white spirit.

Signs are more or less in place. There are still some missing, but the posts to put them on are in place, and the route is obvious. Best bet is to start at Tosside, then you can session the top loop, which is far better than the bottom loop.

Can I fit a chain device, a bit simpler than the one in the piccie, and keep my granny ring? The thought is get a simple device, cut off the wheel bit and use what remains as a means of stopping the chain getting caught behind the tabs.

There's only one way to deal with those two trees. Chainsaw and a stump grinder.
