yeah, I know they can be blocked, but that's not the point. How do I get to see a particular ad other than by sitting here waiting and waiting. The morality of why they are there isn't really relevant. For once I want to click on one, and I don't know when it will appear!!!

    What's meant by best?

Most expensive? Lightest? Best value for money? Hardest used? Cleanest? Dirtiest?

Solvol Autosol. Cleaner for car shiny bits. Works a treat. Just a small blob will clean anything. Polishes up nice too.

By the way how do you convert lat and long into a grid reference?

You can do it in Memory Map.

I bought a pair about 3 years ago. I check them approx every 6 months but so far they've remained nice and true. Running them on a 575 on all types of terrain.

My niece has just got married and had the full photo job. She was told that with the selection of printed photos she chose she would get a CD with all the photos on it, AND full copyright would be passed to her.

    Wensleydale Creamery in Hawes.
    Aysgarth Falls.
Ribblehead, just to walk under the viaduct if you've never seen it before.
    Settle to Carlisle rail trip.
Grassington for the tripper thing. (See if you can go on market day, that really is worthwhile.)

Directional chain lube is so yesterday.

Those clever guys at Shimano have now discovered that one of the jockey wheels rotates clockwise, and the other rotates anticlockwise. They are releasing onto the market in January 2010 multi-directional chain lube which will flow both ways, so speeding up jockey wheel rotation.
Deore lube is £40 for 10 fluid ounces
XT lube is £80 for 10 fluid ounces
XTR lube is £4,327 for 10 fluid ounces.

They are already on back order, and XTR lube is sold out until at least September next year. It's reckoned that it will knock at least 0.0143 seconds off a lap of NFT in Grizedale.

The battery logic ones are the bees knees. They will charge slowly, so they don't burn out your batteries. They will also rejuvenate dead cells by slowly building back the charge – this can take a week, I know I've tried! Will charge AA and AAA at the same time. Will tell you how much life is left in your battery before recharging. They will do so much, far more than you'll need. Might be pricey, but it will last far longer and do a far better job than the B&Q cheapies.

They are the Bang and Olufsen of battery chargers.

Run Advantages all year round. Only problems I have are on steep, wet, long, grass; other than that they grip well in all conditions. Mainly ride Lakes in winter where it's quite rocky, so drain s well and there isn't much mud.

Thought it might be. Lets hope my £60 to Ed O will sort that out. (And everything else I can't do!)

1:38:00 is harder than riding a TT in 00:23:51.

Both of those times are what an average club competitor would term as on the slow side of acceptable.

Yes, I can see the benefits as to grip, until the bark wears off, but it's just so uneven, and once momentum is lost it's hard to get going again. Of course it could be that I'm a sh1t rider!!!

As long as the car is on private property then it doesn't need insurance.

No, but it needs a tax certificate or a SORN.

hi mick , all the woodwork is totally optional so if its not your thing then just ride past it , we are just trying to build something for every one , "variety is the spice of life" and all that

Even that first rough section if you start from Tosside? That always bounces me to a standstill on the HT.

I'm after a new camera too so:-

Do you want it to slip in a pocket?

    Yes

Do you want it to survive getting wet, dropped, crashed on?

    Yes

Do you want a bloody great big zoom?

    Not a massive one

Will you just view images on a screen or print them?

    Screen view only

Do you want to use it in crappy light (like pubs and clubs)?

    No, generally outdoors only.

Got a little Olympus mju 3 megapixels at present. Could do with something better. Suggestions?

(P.S. Not really a hijack is it?)

We've just gone through the same process with my back. Took an eternity to get going in the morning, and only realised it was the bed when we went on holiday. Memory Foam was discounted quite early on. Not sure why but SWMBO has done a lot of reading up on it. We finished up in quite a good bed shop, and didn't look at the budget end. Sales girl was quite open about it, and would sell us one but was quite critical of the lower end products. "Remember you spend 30% of your time in your bed – get a good one".

We finished up with a Hypnos bed, Cost about £1200 for a Kingsize. But it's good. Instead of waking up at 3AM and lying there I now sleep right through and need the alarm to wake me.

Should get 10 years out of it, so works out quite cheap in the long run.

    P.S. H M Queen sleeps on a Hypnos!!!

Sorry, too far away. That stuff is awkward to cut. You end up with it falling all over the place as you cut bits off – difficult to balance. Also watch out for all sorts of nails etc in the wood which will knacker your chain.

You'll also want oil and a mixing bottle for your two stroke mix. And chain oil.

It would be simpler just to find a guy "down the pub" who'll cut it up for you.

Where are you? I've got three sitting around waiting to be used. Don't want the wood, but a few beer tokens would suffice in lieu of petrol money.

    Attach pump to valve.

IF you can get it to stay on. IF you can get that sticky out bit to push the valve in. IF you can then keep the air going in instead of coming out sideways. IF you can release the adaptor without letting all the air out. Scraeder suck.

I've never ever run Schraeder valves. Seem odd technology to me. Also I've never ever had problems with Presta valves; they are much easier to inflate even apart from OP who seems to be doing something odd.

There's a flight of stone steps at Rivington which the guide books call the 365 steps. Supposedly one for every day of the year. Ridden them several times, but too busy concentrating to count.

I'll buy it off you in January. £1200 for the complete bike?
