[/quote] if you want the welshy ones?

I'm being given the welshy ones and don't want them. Want the English ones that I got yesterday.

Nope, aerial is pointed straight at Winter Hill, which is nearly 180 degrees from the nearest Welsh one, which is much further away, Denbigh Hills I think.

WooHoo. I have a couple of those sat on the desk in front of me, looking for a good home.

Must be worth more than what RBS is worth!!! Who wants them. First come, first serve. Mail me.

We're on our second Aqualisa. First one lasted 12 years. Super bit of kit.

Best of luck mate. From experience over many years living near to Preston, Ribble have never had a good name for their customer service. When they had the shop it was the last port of call, and even then you only went in if you knew exactly what you were after. Advice? Forget it. Unless you rode with the guys behind the counter they didn't want to know you.

Of course they have now shut the shop for "refurbishment". It's been shut for most of the year, and word is that they are only doing mail order from their wharehouse now. Doesn't sound as thought they've improved any.

I went in with a mate who wanted a pair of wheels. He knew exactly what he wanted, and Ribble told him that such a spec didn't exist. He even showed them their advert in Cycling Weekly, and they still refused to accept that the hubs existed.

    Good luck.

I've just bought some from Helitape.co.uk. Website is still been devloped so drop this guy a mail.

    duanebw@googlemail.com

£9 a metre (although just did me 3m for £23) and next day delivery. Used his stuff before and lasted longer than the frame

I've used this guy too. His stuff is good.

Got a front mech in the garage (or had last time I looked). Nearly new IIRC.

Mine is a bog standard 27.2 seat tube. No shims needed. Clamp comes with the frame. (So long as it's not hooky!)

    but he blamed the heat

Quite probably true. On a hot day, with sustained braking downhill the glue can give way. Tub off rim, rider off bike. Well known event.

Run a tub at 150 psi, and stand clear when it goes pop. It's the most sickening thing you can hear. One of my tubs blew out as the man was counting me down in the Nat 25 Champs one year. 5, 4, bang, shit, 2, 1, go. Technically I got a DNF, because I presented myself on the start line, and that's always better than a DNS. But it was a bloody long way to High Wycombe just to get a puncture.

I had an exchange of e-mails with him a while back. He'd written a route description that told you to take a non existent footpath across a major boulder field. He started quoting dictionary definitions at me, and when he'd lost the argument told me where to get off. Think he's a definite ********

(But doesn't he look hard in all those eyeballs out photos? And he never ever gets dirty!)

I believe that the figures quoted seldom bear any resemblance to reality.

If you've got a batterylogic charger try putting them on a refresh cycle. Takes about a week to work through, so don't get impatient. There is a theory that new batteries take a couple of full charge/discharge cycles to work up to full potential.

I had something similar and found it was the freehub body sticking. New bearings sorted it out. Don't know if that helps.

IIRC internal diameter is a non standard size, but I might be wrong. I've got a spare used hose (which is just a bit longer than the one I'm using) if you're desperate.

I had a similar scenario a while back. Did nothing at first which was taken as a sign of weakness on my part, and caused the aggro to increase. Didn't get confrontational, just got enough details and went to see plod informally. They went round and had an informal chat. No more trouble.

Too garish for my liking. All strong colours, red, black, white. Too much contrast between them. Could do with toning down, or introducing more colour into it. Just looks a little bit GCSE project. (Just my opinion, I might be wrong)

up over cardingmill valley (bikes banned now)

Is that kosher, or another troll?

Was up Carding Mill Valley a couple of weeks ago. Mind you it's such a **** pull up at the start of a ride that banning it might be a good idea!

Wish I wasn't banned from the site. I think I'd like to have a look at those piccies.

Mrs Musters buys our wines from Tesco. She looks for the £10+ bottles that are on offer at £5/6. Had some super stuff from there.

well done CM for using 'personal(ly)' 4 times in one para

Quite deliberate, because the knockers will be along soon, claiming to be able to navigate with three cabbage leaves and the entrails of a goat.

Personally I would always use 1:25,000 maps. Personally I can't get on with bike hike, there's minimal info on there. Personally I run both Memory Map and Tracklogs, and have a store of paper maps. It really depends what you want. Do you know how to read a map and plot a route? If so I'd recommend MM. That's just my personal opinion. Others will think differently, but then I'm a bit of a map freak!!!

(You can't get lost with an OS map and the knowledge of how to use it)

Bugger, only just seen this. If you'd posted last night…….As it is we're going to try and get to the bottom of why I'm banned from Boggies site.

From December I'll be free all day Wednesday if that's any use to you.

We are likely to moving out in a couple of years time so ripping up the grass and putting gravel down isn't really an option.

    beamers – Member

er, we have just moved in so no thoughts of moving out yet.

Which is it? Advice will differ depending on if you re staying or going.

There is certain "blocking software" on here, but it's not new, and access to boggies site has been allowed since it's installation.

Try getting to it via a web proxy

Any pointers as to where they can be found?

did your tame computer guru advise you to clear you bogtrotters cookie?

    Done that.

Can't get on using Firefox, IE or Google Chrome.

Can search and find in Google, but am only allowed to look at an outline copy of the site cached 3 days ago; I've been using it since then.

    Server not found

Firefox can't find the server at http://www.bogtrotters.org.

    * Check the address for typing errors such as
    ww.example.com instead of
    http://www.example.com

    * If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer's network
    connection.

    * If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I get the same sort of message using IE or Google Chrome. A search on Google will give me a cached page dated 22 Oct, but I was looking at it yesterday with no problems. Haven't knowingly changed any settings, and every other site is working fine, just boggies that' not co-operating.

it doesn't work with Javascript disabled

Not working with IE either. Was working yesterday.
