Oh and 10 laps of the Volcano should be acceptable.
Its the Royal Pump Room 8 you want to fear in a race situation! (especially with the non race aerotuck)

Good luck trying to get organising rights on Zwift… Its nigh on Impossible. Even British Cycling only got limited access.
Newbury Velo are one of the only real Cycling Clubs on there, and thats mainly because the Chap in charge headed up Zwift Power (until Zwift took it over last month).

When I did my series, I was lucky enough that the team at 3R allowed me a slot and then set the events to my choosing. However, this means ANYONE can enter. If you have enough riders you will dominate and all is ok. but if you split the categories out and only 10 turn up in each race it looses the community appeal.
Private events are very rare, most invitational stuff is unavailable to normal organisers.

The race element was added to Meetups for pretty much the reasons we are using it. But it needs tweaks on the start procedure and would be much easier for Robbo if you could download results no doubt!

Great “fun” yet again guys! Thanks for organising Robbo, having done some myself I understand the pain of setting it up!

10min all time best and 2nd best 20min…
legs are pretty cooked right now!! Not quite a pb on the climb but was chasing Dan Fleeman for that!

Enjoying how the handicap really shakes it up again and gets rid of the raw differences.

Next ones could actually be more tactical than this.

Going back to the supertuck question the Zwiftinsider article strongly suggests its worth doing! https://zwiftinsider.com/speed-tests-supertuck/

So the issue you have here is that this is not a race and therefore it will use standard dynamics…. Although Robbo is running a race and results, I’m fairly sure this set up gives standard tuck not Race Tuck.

You’d need it to be an official race with start pen etc for the supertuck to work.

Great work Robbo and thanks for putting the effort in to organise!
Will try to make it back for next week.

Might need some different tactics on the climb, especially with the crazy long descent and flat(ish) run into the line!

Having run 2 leagues via ZP for the South West this summer, I totally appreciate the work put in to run this.
The great thing to see is a large number of entrants. How you adapt and change to suit will be interesting.

The Idea of riding a TT bike could be fun, but unfair on the others. Could work well on a flat course to prevent people sitting on. ;-)

Charlie – yours was one of the times I checked and my predicted time was near enough bang on for what you did on a race on the same course (or reverse course I cant remember now).

The drafting does add some complexity but you should end up with some similar riders to race against in any case. You can choose a TT or a road bike (or mountain if you want a disadvantage).

I will list the results in terms of zwift ranking A through D as well as overall time and the handicapped time. If I find the predicted times are way of the actual time recorded then it will be an issue but hopefully we can see a good correlation. I will add the zwift category to the spreadsheet as well (based on the info you have provided not historical races or zwiftpower as not everyone uses that).

I’ve no issues in the time gaps, looking forward to the challenge! be interesting to see how the splits break down as thats what normally happens in the first 5 mins.
Fairly flat course this week so it should bunch up. Innsbruck could be different!

Wow… Pulling 12 mins out could be fun over 15 miles.
Might take Monday as a rest day!

If you’re running and past the 5km is mark then this App has been a brilliant training partner for me.
Have always really struggled to keep running, or not get injured.
Then over the summer I lose it all to cycling!

£2500 to replace a frame 2 days before I flew to Majorca for a weeks training?
BB shell had fallen out the carbon and delaminated completely.

No chance Orbea were going to turn it around in 1 day!

Bought an S Works Tarmac and havent looked back, best bike purchase in years!
    Lucky really.

Dont race what you cant replace rings very true…

However, you bought your nice bike to ride and race so just use it!!!
Ive been racing the summer bike in the winter and using the training bike just to train.

You can get Accident insurance that covers you for racing, but its not something that is included within any of the BC insurances given with a race license.

Archetype Rims have been fantastic and I’ve been racing Elite RR’s on them over the winter season in 32/32 on Hope Hubs.

25’s will come up as nearly a 28 (4 seasons are 27.7mm) they make 28’s like MTB tyres!

However, they are soft… I can get about 2 seasons out of a pair before the rim has worn pretty bad. Thats on about 500-750 miles a month.

I dont even use a saddle bag in the summer…

Known software glitch with the buttons too… My lap button works but doesn’t flag up on the screen and the start/stop gave up this morning until I switched it on and off then it was fine.

Vectors now include a crowd foot in the box…
I moved from shimano, to speed play, to vector (keo) with no problems.

Just bought an M109c as whyte have no 29er cs’s left….
Its rapid and should be a little nicer on the longer days in the saddle.
It feels a little hard work if you let the gear get on top of you, but once you give it a kick it really flies… Gives me a safety net over the hard tail and is a little more compliant when doing trail centre days.
Lots a lot of weight by moving over some xtr and going tubeless on the carbon wheels.
Maybe not the best short course xc race bike but it’s going to be fab come the longer summer rides!

Still have my 829 which I might make 1*10 for the shorter stuff however it’s got a old fox evo fork which isn’t great and it means switching end caps on my hope wheelset. Shame they don’t do a 142*12 set of dropouts for that….

I bought one of the first sets of vectors in the uk and have now had them nearly 18 months.
Great bit of kit, however there are lots of concerns floating around from people who don’t have them…

I’ve used a torque wrench for most installs and regularly move them around 3 bikes. You don’t need to use the torque wrench and I now only use it as a check once installed to make sure they are over the recommended.
Aligning the pods and speeding up install comes with practice but I now have it nailed. As long as you do them up tight you’ll be fine. You can’t really over tighten them and cause an issue with power, under tightening is where the numbers go weird.
Never had an issue with balance, it’s off but I’m pretty sure I know why I am not 50/50 now.
The new metrics are fab, even better if you have an edge 1000.
The only issues I have had are with premature bearing wear… I’m 83kg with a decent ftp of mid 300’s so put some good load on them and others have seen no issues at all. The pedals get a slight knock on the axle where the bush moves and wears a bit, Garmin have exchanged them within a week each time.

I’d buy them again tomorrow over the other options, certainly if you have multiple bikes!

Sonos? My customers sell it and rate it very highly in Jersey (lots of cash over there).
Have various systems, small speaker units, audio hub to link to a bigger separates unit or the ultimate in invisible, the showroom is done in 5.1 ceiling speakers which give most average kit a run for its money when used with a decent sub!

I’ve read most of whats been written and really not sure what to say… I cant even begin to imagine what it must be like.
I found some candle lanterns the other day… I probably wont be able to launch it during the day with work and all but ill tie a little tag to it and get one sent up the evening of the funeral if thats ok…
Ill make sure I get a photo and post it on here.

We we’re probably on just before you then, we had the 10-1 slot with BCDS at Newport.
I suggest trying to find a private session with a coach, this is how I do it.

Accreditation is only needed really for open riding and drop in sessions/racing.

Im not accredited and ride in an advanced group every month through the winter, however I cant do any of the drop in sessions. I looked at it but it seemed a faff to complete it when I was unlikely to head up and do any of the drop ins anyway.

Have a look and see if you can find a club that go more regularly and dont need accreditation.
Oh… and the rules are only there for good reason!

6 (miles) divided by 34 (mins) = 5.6666666 according to my Busicom BS-7938CX Dual Power 8 Digit calculator.

    Ahhh, should be 6.4 miles = 10K.

It now says 6.4 (miles) divided by 34 (mins) = 5.3125.

Bin the 10 mile TT = evens idea disco. You’ve got no chance.[/quote]

If he did ABOUT 6 miles in ABOUT 34 mins then surely he must have been doing ABOUT 12miles an hour no??

    To correct your maths – (60/34)*6.4 = 11.29 mph

Nor do i…. but you end up with fairly meaningless numbers, says i’ll lose 50lbs or more in a couple of weeks. Seems ok if you dont do exercise over an hour or so/just use the gym…

Only problem is, everytime I go for a ride I end up back at the start of my calories for the day!
Did a sportive the other day and it wiped out my calories for a week!
