A friend gave me his MBK in about '88, horrid multicoloured green yellow and whatever. He brought it back from France so at least it was authentic!

Terrible! and I think she needs to be told. Ask your friend where she will be next and i'll see if I can have one in her shell-like

I'd say no to Asus and Yes to Dell, if only for their fantastic customer service. My last 3 laptops have been Dell and unless their is serious upset, so will my next 3.

I also have 2 of the Acer Aspire One netbooks, but only run Linux on them and don't use them for any heavy apps, but they have been fine for what they are, especially if you go large with the battery

    I did

The pay cut is OK, but probably because the change freed me up from having to be in the South. My wife and I worked out how much less we would need to maintain the same lifestyle if we left London and the result was astonishing.

    Try it

But you might die horribly when it breaks, with shards of carbon shattered throughout your body. Then you'll feel daft won't you. Best give it to me now and save yourself the embarrassment.

Do you need someone to look after or store the old frame for you?

Although Titanium 853 steel frames are expensive, they … will last a lifetime; something that can’t be said of a lightweight carbon fibre frame.

It seems like you'll need at least vehicles anyway to get you there. So the bikes will only require £100 extra. Or did you have a different plan for getting people there?

If you have the money buy a set of Snap-Ons.

Don't however, do what I did, which is to misread an offer and buy a set of Strap-Ons. You get a completely different set of tools, most of which will be of no use in fixing your car.

the guy on second chance will think you shilled him. He bid up to 79, but if the withdrawing bidder hadn't bid, the sale price would have been much lower. I rarely pick up second chance offers for just that reason

Good God! Next they'll be doing away with the twin triangle or allowing gears or some such

On that basis, bikechain. Do you reckon your carbon bike would last longer than my pasta one?

Discs? Do they allow discs in cross nowadays?

A good friend of mine swore by titanium, on that whole 'last a lifetime' line. The frame snapped on a fast downhill and the top tube went straight through his heart. So, not quite a lifetime, but maybe only a second short.

None of the above is true

How a bout a dartboard? The cheaper ones are made of compressed paper!
    Maybe not

However, Paper is the traditional theme, the modern is Plastic or Clocks and of course pearls are the associated gemstone.

You could offer to give her a pearl necklace for your anniversary. That would be a present you could both enjoy.

But back onto paper, why not write her a poem / love letter / etc. on fancy paper?

I'd charge £250 per day minimum. Given that it will have to be your w/e or evenings when it is done. That time is expensive. I'm in a similar game (you may already know) and have charged £400 a day regularly. Don't forget after tax etc, you need to find a sum that you are happy to have in your pocket in exchange for blowing off a day

I'm with you in spirit, though that new romantic stuff was arse. People like to trash 80's music because of the Stock Aitken Waterman Era and that was pretty crap, but let's not forget all the stuff in the early 80s, the New Wave post-punk, the reggae, especially the midlands scene, and the SKA / two tone, folks like the specials. Then there was the emergence of rap, and later acid house.

What have you done since huh?

psychle is right. Take it back to the shop. Even if the warranty is out, EU regs state 2 years, the reason we do not have 2 years is because we have the 'reasonable' expectation category and that is more than 2 years. Check with CAB. If the shop refuses to fix (which is very unlikely) go see CAB

Besides, i think the athleticism plays an important part in this, all the birds in here are fit looking in the true sense, we’re admiring the female (or male) for which is a result of dedication and training. not just ogling pneumatic stylised models.

shoefiti, i know it may sound strange thst we seem surprised that a stranger on the internet scams us. However, given that most of us have made many such transactions successfully, it is surprising and disappointing when one goes wrong. One of the reasons that this is a thriving community is because there is a degree of trust and i’m still happy to trust folks on here, albeit with a bit more caution.
