Sorry, I’ve obviously been eating too much of it on my visits to the area.

There’s a world of difference between mincing down it on an enduro bike and hitting it at elite level speed on a dh bike

Tell that to the racers who moan about it being too easy, not me (winky face emoji)

I think it’s one of the best venues when it comes to support but I don’t think it’s one of the best courses, too much of it is man made IMO.

It’s great for infrastructure too, and the track doesn’t feel man made in a bad way – it’s also punishingly physical – but it’s just not got the gradient a WC DH track needs these days.

My solution is to keep enough stuff in the boot that there’s always something to nestle the shopping in between.

e.g. mine currently contains: bike toolbox, dryrobe in bag for life, ikea bag, microwive-size plastic tub with emergency bike clothes in, bag for life with spare post-ride clothes in, nice stick my son found on a walk, 2×4 thick foam matting for standing on to get changed.

So difficult to get the weight and stiffness just right.

Mine are mostly a bit too thin or too stiff so they feel more jacket than shirt, but I’ll keep trying.

Current favourite is a corduroy Uniqlo overshirt.

Another here who finds them pointless.

Are you still damaging rims, or were you not doing so in the first place?

Most of my rides involve rocks and they very obviously protect rims from damage in my experience.

Up Helvellyn on Friday AM, on the hardtail, Seldom Seen proved leg destroying on the way down..

Shoulda gone down Dollywaggon instead then (winky face emoji)

Just had a quick couple of hours yesterday PM, but with some special guests:

I just kind of stopped watching the new series of The Boys. Might pick it up again, but it’s definitely lost its mojo.

Really enjoyed the second series of Colin From Accounts (iPlayer).

Noticed the OG Mean Girls is on Prime for free, so I’ve marked that to watch with my daughter.

if you’re one of those folk who still think anything over 30lbs is “heavy”.
    That’s because it is

Do you actually weigh your bikes?

30lbs would be great for a modern trial bike like this, 32lbs would be quite acceptable. This is 33lbs, which is lighter than I expected but slightly heavier than I’d ideally want.

I’ve been very happy with the Endura Singletrack FF helmet, available for £90 here…

Was great in the Alps last year:

No idea how much Brendon’s income comes directly or indirectly from ‘clicks’ but none on this is doing him any reputational harm.

Absolutely. Even Semenuk will forget he won it before everyone forgets Brendog getting so blatantly robbed.

This will be better for his profile than another 4th or even a 3rd.

The event is the loser. I honestly think the organisers will be in crisis management mode now deciding whether or not they put out a statement and apology.

Fort William is really dull race TV wise. Speed and brutality of top section doesn’t come across and not much in the way of line choice. Riders disappear into the woods then reappear minutes later with big  time gaps, then it’s onto the motorway jumps and again little in the way of line choice and almost always by then the race is already won/lost.

Absoloutely, was dull as **** to watch for years. Recent changes improved thing somewhat but I won’t miss it as a fan.

Re. the riders “going soft”, I think it’s more that the course isn’t as challenging as they’d like. I can ride all the tech bits on my enduro bike without getting scared, and I bet I couldn’t do that at any of the other rounds.

    That’s awesome.

I thought Chelsea was the most impressive rider at the whole thing, with those two scary crashes in the same spot.

That footage is up there with Rogatkin’s famous crash for WTFness.

Well the forum is lovely and speedy when I’m not logged in, so I guess I’ve only got myself to blame for posting so much on here over the years.

Think I’ll try to cut back on my time here rather than set up a new account.

Just caught the second runs this morning.

Bloody hell I’d hate to see Semenuk’s face if he lost, he seemed miserable about winning.

Probably a bit embarrassed as he expected Godziek to win still. I can see how BS’s tricks were insanely technical, but it’s like he honed in on one strand of the competition (the opposite to Brendog) and was unduly rewarded for that.

Feels like a jumping (and flipping and spinning) the shark moment for Rampage. There’s going to be big reputational damage over Brendog in particular. I don’t think they can come back without significant changes to the scoring and possibly a public apology.

Watched it on replay this eve, it was quite difficult to find on the red bull app.

Great event with amazing riding anyway.

But Jesus Chelsea, be careful will you (scared face emoji)

Not sure if it was a pre production one

It will be when he contacts them for a comment (winky face emoji)

Keen to try one though, almost bought an Ochain but something else came up.

Is there any realistic prospect of making the site quicker?

Honestly, it doesn’t feel like it’s much of a priority for you.

Last time I did it through a scheme was about 15 years ago – and there was a £1k limit and I bought an 853 steel hardtail with fulll XT (good old Merlin).

My current employer’s scheme is still capped at £1k, and that would just about cover the frame these days.

Not sure what my point is here, other than you get a LOT less bike for your £1k now. And I suspect many employers have retained that limit.

I just want it gone before the end of the month TBH, there is a Scrappy local to my office

You can get a scrappy price online and they come and collect.

    Likely £200-300.

My ex used this one with no hitches: https://www.car.co.uk/

So the price it sells at auction isn’t necessarily the process you’ll get for the car?

Only if you accept a reduction.

You are free to say no.

Did you mention the blemishes in the listing?

Motorway isn’t a single buyer like WBAC, it will be a dealer who bids on your car and comes to collect.

My mum got a good price for her car, which the dealer paid in full and praised her on the condition. Other dealers may be more fussy, with or without justification.

Bit like selling on eBay I suppose.

Well, if you’d said it was a Farage quote, that would have been useful context for those of us who avoid online political “debate”.

Keep us updated on any disciplinary action that you become aware of, be interesting to see how it’s handled.

    I predict an awareness course.

Without context that would appear to be an ignorant thing to say, but not particularly offensive to South Asians.

Fill in the blanks for us OP?

The TruTune and damper tuning are addressing very different issues. I wouldn’t be in a hurry to spend the money on either until you’re sure that your fixing a problem.

TruTune is dealing with ramp up in the air spring. Damper tuning will affect the entire stroke of the fork (and the rebound).

    I’d absolutely agree with this.

But I’d just add that I have a Charger 3 Zeb which was reluctant to get near the full 180mm travel, at any sensible pressure.

I’ve put a TruTune in it and it has improved the air spring greatly, allowing me to use the damping more effectively.

It’s hilarious/tragic how middle aged men are too precious to just wear normal slippers, and have to have some kind of outdoorsy or hipster option instead.

Just own it and pop down M&S.

Can’t beat a classic pair like this: https://www.marksandspencer.com/herringbone-slippers-with-freshfeet/p/clp60695674?prevPage=srp#intid=pid_pg1pip48g4r2c2

I believe the typical choice is Bumble not Tinder these days.

Hinge is where the action is now.

As others have said – oil-filled rad is best option but risks escalating the situation, dehumidifier will take the edge off and be more stealthy, some kind of on-body or bed heating is possibly the most diplomatic.

and is settling on leaving it in situ for now… leave it to me and my bro to worry about later.

Probably the best option if not they are not looking to sell anytime soon.

Give time for understanding of the issue to develop and mortgage lenders may take a more lenient view as they accrue more experience of the issue.

its 65 deg on my ariel 30 with 130mm forks, so it should be around 64.5 on this. Which sounds really slack for a 140mm bike to me, but I might be behind the times.

My 120mm trail bike has a 65deg HA and it’s fine, but this seems more of a bruiser in terms of weight, build and the rest of the geometry. I thought they were going for a mini-enduro kind of vibe. Maybe I was being picky, but Hannah does reference the HA being a limiting factor in the review.

What’s to stop folk selling them without the battery (assuming it’s removable) then ‘forgetting’ to remove the battery?

That buyers won’t know there’s a battery included?

Worth noting that the 30, like other Saracens, is running superboost. How much of an irritation that is will vary from person to person

They don’t help themselves, do they?

I’d really like to see Saracen doing well, but a hefty and dated-looking 130mm bike with a 65deg HA but enduro build spec doesn’t totally make sense to me. Especially when you add a pointless new rear axle spacing. And I love a long reach, but 480mm on a medium may be a bit too much for a trail bike.

Look at cost of removal, type of foam (some is much easier to remove than others, it should say which was used on the installation certificate) and cost of a re-roof.

If the property has a 50-year-old roof as it is, then offering half the cost of a re-roof off the price may be an acceptable solution.

Looks more like a button lift, but extend it to the top of Dollywaggon and we could have a viable track.

FiveTen Trailcross GTX are indeed very narrow.

Are they the same sizing as the standard Trailcross XT, does anyone know?

I’ll just be wearing those with waterproof socks this winter though.
