Bill Hicks was the first person who I saw labelled as a “comedian” but was so much more, and often less funny than just mind-blastingly thought-provoking.

I tend to put him, Stanhope and Carlin together because they all changed, in a matter of moments, how I thought about living life. And how I looked at the world and people.

Just starting with Chris Morris now.

This is definately “finding an excuse day”.

So far I have a very, very, very slight saddle sore.

The Mrs has called in sick and needs “tlc” constant attention.

I’ve already cycled to Tesco and back.

Shoes are still wet from Thursdays mud-fest.

    Hills still there tomorrow.

    I’ll get around to it………

    Probably.

This will be a night ride at this rate.

It’s the woody trails I’m really going for…. But might as well start as high as I can.

Even though it’s now morning, I’m looking outside and trying to convince myself there will be no massive headwind/flying sheep.

Ride Street/Trials only for three winter months and getting back on the proper hardtail-sitting down etc- has been miserable this year.

On the plus side, I have balance and calves.

I remember Peter Snow and Phillipa Forrester.

Infrared Vacuum Cleaners and the like…

    Am I making this up?

    I want to do this.

I do not have a full sus.

Will I get sent home? On the wait list for round 3 just in case.

    🙂

Be kind to those you meet on the way up. You never know who you’ll meet on the way back down.

    Corduroy POC shorts.

    I don’t know why either.

We have no money right now so it’s a savings job, but I’m pretty much set on a used Genesis anyway.

    Easy 1*10 too.

Also, rigid forks are definitely ok as she’s being using P2’s her whole riding career to date.

Cheers CB, it’s already on my list as that was the first bike I ever rode. It is excellent for the money, but Shimano, even bottom of the barrel, is a must.

    Very manly.

I’ve never had trouser rash off mine though.

You never know where a lighter has been. I know.

Lighting a fag off the toaster was always a late night win.

If I saw a buzzard in my garden i’d probably have a bit of a cry.

Nearly died staring at the Golden Eagle up Fort Bill at the weekend.

Can’t remember the last time I went into Evans to buy something, and somebody managed to serve me before i walked out.

    Consistently, dependably, thoroughly awful.

Edit: Not relevant to OP. Feel better now though.

    Vodka Milkshake for example.

Spot on Al, what happened last week!?

I can perceive plenty of humour divenwob, but it’s a waste of time trying to laugh.

Sometimes we all feel posting on here is dangerous, but only for fear of trolololololing from snarky folk.

Plenty of STW’s have obviously had a shitty weekend and are hating Monday.

The man wants to stick a camera on his head, good for him.

    Enjoyed working with DPD.

And that’s the info the customer gets.

In a past life I had access to the corporate distribution account (all the warehouse numbers etc)and if you have a good relationship with the account managers… anything can be “located quicker”.

I miss that job. I also hate myself for not copying that warehouse contacts pdf.

*Does what Northwind says ’cause he knows things and likes the same stuff as I do*

I like that. It’s on the list.

This is like when I thought Niner invented 29″.

Edit: Lots of options, very expensive. I’ll wait for that… Thomson elite for now!

If I ever want to have a bloody good argument, i’ll go to a “mainstream” cinema.

Haven’t been in 3 years and won’t be going this year either.

Filmhouse/Cameo for arty-farty stuff and specials seasons only.

Proper thick grease, just a wee bit.

27.2 dropper posts, other than the Thomson one, seem to be pish.

    I love 2014. The year of the 1 1/8 & 68mm. Sound.

    When my pop’s 80, he’s getting tablet.

    The butter and sugar kind.

He’s 60 and phones when “the internet breaks”.

Only been riding 4 years but the same thing happened to me very quickly.

Fell in love with cycling immediately and relentlessly pursued a “job in the trade”.

The best-worst thing that ever happened to my career was achieving that goal to work in a bike shop/warehouse/workshop.

NEW STUFF, SELL THIS NEW STUFF NO SELL THIS NEW STUFF NO THIS NEW STUFF.

I know what I like and I know what works and am loathe to consider myself part of the bandwagon making cycling just like golf.

I googled some terms looking for a picture to illustrate my own dream.

The only thing I know of is a BTR, but they’re not for me.

I’m not very old but I feel like that on the trails sometimes, shuttling up and down on the Inbred past the rich children on Spicy’s in head to toe body armour.

Then sitting with them as they sit in shock, crying, waiting for mum to arrive in the X5/Cayenne spaceship.

I knew a lad called Merlin who went there.

He had three others sharing his namesake.

Wisest most sage and dependable young man I have even met. Even though he now trades futures.

    Like all good wizards.
