I’ve never bought a NEW crank arm. Come on, who does that. I just wait for rich people to buy drivetrains and fob their discarded bits off on me.

When I worked in ye olde bike shoppe there’s was plenty to snaffle for the price of some Clif Bars. Like the SLX ones off someone’s Ibis.

But, it’s dead now with only one bolt in it and it’s gonna go snap soon.

TBH I haven’t gone round all the good pikey LBS’ yet so I’ll do that Monday.

What would I do with the hypothetical Chris King mike? 🙂

Besides, there’s the Dialled Alpine to buy off classifieds, the Norco in the cupboard, the Bfe off the classifieds…

Just speccing for myself with what I have available.

If I could get motivated enough, I would arrange for a wheelchair user, double buggy pusher and walking-aid required person to get “around the block” in my little car infested suburb WITHOUT being forced on the road.

It is impossible due to all of the cars parked on the pavement, on corners, on speed bumps, blah etc.

You should see this place on bin day.

    Council not interested.

Edit: STW has inspired me. Camera out tomorrow.

    a 26″ 853 frame with 1 1/8th standard headtube and 68mm BB.

Custom as you like, but that’s what I’d have.

Will make sense once I buy that Chris King double.

She’s not in yet, yossarian. 🙂

Well, that’s when I got the vigilante thoughts ’cause, well, who wouldn’t think about bombing past him on the pavement.

    Cue benny hill.

Loco, it’s a long haul to win the “cycling on the pavement” conversation with them.

It would get to the point where “public disorder” etc was mentioned as which point only the hardcore will continue.

As said above, unless you are feeling really contrary, on point and belligerent, and both factually and morally sound, take the lecture.

Edit BIG EDIT: Wrightyson… He was holding my handlebars! *lolcats etc*

I just wanted to get home this time.

Screw you yossarian, i debated at the traffic lights whether I am the sort who has no other course of rebellion than to pop on ones local forum for a moan.

You are right, I have lost.

welcome me in your midst whingers, for I am one of you.

That’s a surprise, I was planning to have my tea then come back to an “ultra-flame” along the lines of

Idiot in “gets told of by police officer doing his job shocker”.

Obviously not, good, let’s continue along this path>

I don’t “converse” with police. I say what I need to at the beginning of discourse and that is it. In order to hold back the tidal wave of belligerence that comes so naturally to me in such situations.

Never had a condescending lecture for drinking, swearing or *smoking* in public. The only time, in 12 years of hardly following the letter of the law, that i’ve been spoken to in that manner has been cycling related incidents. From nearly running over jaywalkers to vandalising a car parked on a corner, it’s pretty much boiled down to :

“You’re an adult. What on earth are you doing trying to stay alive?”

    *sigh*

    What happened between page 3 & 8?

Anyway, I side with the for on one and in favour of Brant argument.

Every time I phone on one their customer service is top notch.

This thread reminded me why I stopped working in retail/sales.

If you don’t believe the customer is always right, you shouldn’t be responsible for customer service.

My HTC one is been indestructible. With a quality case, you will be impressed.

Made of aluminum, which is very well sealed as it’s been dunked in a pot of boiling water no worries.

2.35 Dhf 60a on front and 2.35 40a high roller on back.

people say the dhf width isn’t 2.35 but it’s the grippiest front tyre I’ve ever had.

It must be beyond sticky in the soft compound.

    The shite retainer northwind.

I did prance out after the quadriceps compliment though.

It’s not painful, just dull soreness when fatigued. And it gave way after I stood up off the sofa.

I used to run up and down hills.

    Stopped that pretty quick.

So, any truth in the “Singlespeed Kills Your Knees” opinion?
SS all the way here. I’m very fit though.

32/19 the now cause I’m getting hill fitness back.

This will be 32/16 next month cause I can manage.

Then 32/14 for trail centre smashing.

Funny fellow I am. Proud owner of two SS inbreds and a SS trials bike.

Should also say I’ve had some welcome offers from some local physios on here but I don’t even know what I’m asking for!

Hello oldboy, aware of the possibility of arthritis. Great gran and mum had it rather bad.

Partly why I’m so keen not to have the “oh, cyclists, sore knee yeah” attitude thrown in from the medical folk but my disposable income is zero so need a state supported solution at the moment.

Also, if I was to pay a private physio, I’m concerned about going, finding out what’s wrong and not being able to go back for whatever reason. Also, 27 in May. Which, apparently, is when things start to go wrong.

Strips are brilliant but expensive. My steroid spray did nowt in the long term.

Deviated septum, disconnected cartilage, broken twice. You know the script.

It’s a cold weather bogey fest for me and I forget about it in the summer.

I suppose you could DIY menthol strips though somehow.
