Another vote for 120 Rebas. RL solo air on an Inbred here.

I like them. Big psi and fast rebound for my 15 stone and they’re super plush.

Cheap as off Merlin last year.

The sign said £140 for Hope Evo on 721 front.

    Offered £100, paid £110.

Ft.Bill WC pits, great barter destination.

It’s not unknown for an LBS to buy off CRC.

Considering for most Independent LBS the profit margin on selling actual bikes & components is miniscule compared to workshop margin, the money to keep the lights on has to come from somewhere.

Water bottles, lights & tubes + fitting ime. This is especially true in the good ol’ places customers consider social clubs with free tea and biscuits.
Buy a tube, it’s the least you can do.

There’s nothing better than being at the top of a run with that “pit of your stomach” feelin. Being aware that the consequences of failure are severe, but possessing enough belief in your skills to embrace & overcome is liberating to me.

Eg, there’s a massive boulder right after a double on Ft.Bill worldchamps that will take your leg off. I’ve never hit it, but I always think about it at the beginning.
It’s a point I mention frequently to sedentary mumblers, that it’s good to be “fearful” at least once a day. Even if you have to get in the way of harm to avoid it

Interpol, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Bright Eyes have blown my tiny mind many times.

I have some Lana//Lorde/Grimes tracks on shuffle.

What I like is the record labels pay top dollar for the beat producers in the world-Diplo,Jamie xx – to produce for them and the result is some cracking pop songs to listen to.

That new Teleman album is very, very Radio 6. And good.

Because without them OURY grips are a sweaty rubber mess.

I find many people intolerant of “spirituality” in an Agnostic sense. So often batted away with “hippie” or “nonsense”. I’m of the school of thought that deems science-quantum physics, evolution etc- a faith. There is no absolute proof.

I have A faith, my faith, but it isn’t everyones and we should just accept that.

    All of you, Seadog?

I was most displeased by Old Man John next door calling “Y’ill no need thi’ choke noo, son, motors hot Innit” over the fence. As if he was listening to the soundtrack of my flourishing masculinity.

As if I didn’t already know the proprietary function of a “Choke”……

There’s something demeaning about having a low IQ.

Having no ambition makes you less of a valuable employee.

Very strange phase in my life right now.

For me, more often than not, I only manual for a wee confidence booster, bit of style, bit of fun.
I rarely do them when necessary: puddles, cattlegrids, Showing Off For Pretty Girls etc.

Learned on a trials bike and just moved the skill to the big hardtail. I’m still a bit of a shover though, certainly no Sultan Semenuk of Flow.

“Power Assisted Front Wheel Lift”. That’s handy mind.

I would like to think either Greg or Samuel L Jackson personally footed that bill.

After screaming at Ratboy from 6ft away last weekend to jumping up and down in the living room today I am utterly inspired.

My champion of “ride bikes, have fun” and doing things your own way.

Peaty definitely gave him a slap and told him “this is your time” *picture the scene*
    Well done, lad.

And kudos to Minaar for devotion to charity, flying out to London straight after.

18 months is a drop in the ocean in the long run. That you’ve already had a break, and regret getting back together, and now doubt the future it’s probably time to go it alone.

Of course it’s difficult, but the right decision. Besides, it will give you both the opportunity to be with the right person in the future.

    Just keep swimming.

Post of the week from Rusty.

Damp Hands is my favourite tyre ever, but the good ones are so expensive I let it go and buy High Rollers whenever they’re cheap.

Ugh, the Red -from the wallride- is divine. I love it.

I’m just back from the WC and it was nice to be able to do that bottom section from a quite short push up.

The new green xc is a riot too btw, definitely get on that for a warm up if you can be bothered with a climb. All ultra swoopy bermy niceness and little doubles.

Edit: Re Northwinds bit about crossing the new trails.

That is NOT the Pitch-or a renewed model of- the bike on my “wishlist of bikes to own one day”.

Shite. Specialized make some really, truly, woeful pish down that end of the market.

Maybe one day I’ll have some moolah and buy a Maxled out tapered beast of a 1*11 ndooro ‘ting, but no time soon.

I reckon spokes are fir the **** chop next.

Having sealed bearings to keep the cement out is what you should really worry about.

Dual ply Minion DHF up front, pick yer size, and a Hans Dampf on the arse. Or a 60a High Roller.

    Works.

Remember…. It’s like evil grey sand and it hurts bits.

I got a “2.5” off CRC, dunno what year it was but it is a big 2.35 but is UNBELIEVABLE for blutac like stickiness.

If the 2.7 IS accurate, I can imagine yer front will look fatbikey.

Dangerousbeans they’re not shit, they’re brilliant in the right application. I’ve used them for 3 years and my set will go on the Mrs’ Kona.

On this bike, they’re not right anymore.

Remember we’re talking about fitting them to a hardtail here

I think that’s beside the point. It’s a hardtail that gets to go down Ft Bill Red so the stopping power is key. Not braking in rockgardens on my Five.

The bike is not gonna go to France, the brakes might.
