The blue trail at Whinlatter is decent as well, pad the ride out by doing it in between the north and south loops.

Megatop Phoenix by Big Audio Dynamite, an underrated classic album.

I was up at Hamsterley earlier today and didn’t notice if the bike shop (shed) was even open. I’d guess it might only bother at weekends at this time of year ?

The riding was good by the way. 🙂

I just gave it a go and it worked perfectly. Should be pretty useful.
“Put the kettle on” would be a good name for the app 😀

You’re not going to get any fitter in the few days left until the race, so let your body spend it’s time and energy dealing with the cold.

American motivational talks don’t do it for me I’m afraid.

    I had this happen yesterday.
Turned the wifi off then held the power button in to turn the computer straight off. Restart ran anti virus, which actually came up clean. Restart chrome but don’t take the option of restoring previous session.

    Job sorted.

I’ve got Reggatta de Blanc if police records count.

    A combination of :-
    yr.no – I like the graphics.
Accuweather – seems good apart from the wind strength and direction which can be way out for the NE coast.
Magic Seaweed – as accurate as professional forecasts for wind/wave and weather patterns.

Rafael Scheidt when at Celtic had a rather obvious one.

A skills course ? or does it have to be something tangible ?

    Reinventing the Penny Farthing 🙂
Sounds like it could be interesting.

I’m partial to midget gems when I’m full of cold, I don’t have an explanation for the reason.

I’ve got the G Form knee/shin combo, very comfortable but I can’t vouch for the padding as I haven’t managed to come off while wearing them yet (need to try harder :-))

Jason and the Scorchers – Lost and Found is a good pick. A superb and criminally under rated band / album.

I’m about ready for bed. On the MTB yesterday and today plus a few to many beers last night. All good fun though.

Not many hotels have decent free weights, I use the local sports centre gym for mine.
You can try bodyweight exercises. One legged squats are pretty effective I’ve found.

I’ve spent the last couple of months doing squats and deadlifts twice a week + some low stroke rate rowing on the Concept 2. It seems to have made a big difference to my leg power on the mountain bike.

The Style Council riding bikes springs to mind, can’t remember which song/video it was though.

I prefer the stand up model BigButSlimmerBloke, but that would do the job 😀

A large plastic sheet from B & Q does the job for me. Just line the boot out with it and fold the rest back over the top of the bike. I’ve done that for years with hire cars with no problems.

If yourself and the buyer are known to the LBS it’s not impossible that they can help you get something sorted. Just a thought as you’re obviously very distressed 😀

See if you can get in touch with the person who bought the bike, if you can get them to trust you they might let you have a quick go on it.
