I was impressed with Gavin Harrison when I saw him with King Crimson on their recent tour.

A stick of rock with the company name running through it would be my suggestion.

Result. I dug out my old version of Metal for Muthas but also found my long lost copy of the controversial Sanctuary single by Iron Maiden. Get in.

I’ve been caught in the front end of a Hurricane and once ended up in the eye of a tropical storm, all very interesting.
The worst experience though was in the North Sea, someone thought it was a good idea to try a seismic survey in January, this using a Russian vessel which had been modified and the stability calculations messed up (found this out later). We got caught in a severe storm, which sunk another vessel, we rolled so much the bridge wings were dipping in the sea and the majority of the crew spent the night wearing survival suits etc. I stayed in my cabin clinging to the bed, my toiled broke free and was smashing around the bathroom all night. We had to heave too into the weather for a day because we would have gone over if we’d tried to head to shelter.

It was nice to eventually get into port for a beer 😀

2 flew over Saltburn late this afternoon. Low and very loud. the dog was startled. Couldn’t make out if they were Russian or not.

There’s a lot of that, that sounds like me playing about with my looper pedal. 😀
What you’re doing is a great way to learn how to put musical parts together.
Is Abelton a recording studio app or a backing track writer ? I’ll have to check it out, it sounds decent.

^^^ made me remember buying this when I was about 13….Muthas

I’ve still got that album in my vinyl collection, I’ll have to give it a spin, Praying Mantis are on there I think, they supported Iron Maiden in 1980 the 1st time I saw them.

The first album by far, for me. I still listen to it a lot now.
Back at the time I was a massive Maiden follower and was mortified when the “the air raid siren” was brought in from Sampson.

Dalby is a good solid ride, you just need to be fit enough/ pace yourself and fuel up a bit during the ride. If you start flagging during the latter stages it can be a real dirge but if you have something left you can have a really good go at the end sections and its good riding.

It a 2 banana, 1 piece of flapjack, 1l of water ride in my little world.

I was there last Friday and it was still 7 quid to get in.

Hopefully the recent rain wont have created many puddles of grind paste for you to collect on your drive train.

Guisborough forest on a fully rigid Diamond Back Apex, 1997 I think would have been the year. Back then they had a longer black route signposted and I had zero concept of any mtb riding techniques so made pretty hard work of it especially all the rooty bits.

I wouldn’t feel bad about taking the holiday, you’re the uncle not the dad. I don’t like being railroaded into buying presents off lists esp for a birth, just send a card (stick a gift voucher in if you feel like it) 🙂

I can’t remember much about the main courses at school, but the puddings were great. Chocolate sponge with pink custard being top of the list.

What is the movie that’s out, is it a film of the recent Wall tour ?

If you live in Great Ayton you can ride from there. Go upto Captain Cooks monument then down and up onto the moors behind Guisborough forest, from there you can head into the forest and maybe along to the top of Highcliff Nab. There are so many trails around the area you’re spoilt for choice (it should be your default riding area :D) but maybe for starters check out Stripes, The Secret Path, Les 1,2,3 and Nomad on Strava and join them up into a ride.

Also Strava Global Heatmap is your friend 😉

Lots of riding ENE of Stokesley at Guisborough forest and on the moors next to it. Trails all over the place. Check out the strava global heat map.

You can’t have enough guitars 😀

There’s a difference between a baritone guitar and a detuned regular guitar. Baritone guitars use heavier strings (e.g. 13 to 72) on a longer scale length neck with beefed up construction. They’re like a halfway house between guitar and bass.

I’m glad I watched that, I was going to give it a miss expecting a routine win for SA. Totally gripping stuff.
