As above. I’m not ok with the techniques employed, but complaining about eating animals would be hugely hypocritical of me.
    I’m out.

unfortunately they seem to have gone terrible when they gave up drugs, which I’m not advocating!

Not advocating drugs, or not advocating good bands giving up drugs?
If ‘I’m with you’ and ‘Gateway’ are anything to go by, it should definitely be the latter :-)

Also, Incubus. What happened there then?

Red Hot Chilli Peppers. From funk to terrible, weak ballads over the space of two albums.

Mr Scruff too, unfortunately. Loved all of his stuff up until Friendly Bacteria (2014).

Always had this and it may have got me in trouble once or twice..

At a nightclub once with a few friends and ended up meeting an equal size group of ladies and we all kind of banded together for the rest of the night, few drinks and dancing ect.
During the night my friends all paired off, leaving me and the last of their group sitting together in the chillout area.
It was still quite loud as she leaned over and shouted something to me, followed by a rather hopeful smile.
I heard nothing. At all. I was not even looking directly at her so could not lip read either, so just replied directly to her optimistic face with a cheerful and confident ‘Yep!’ and wandered off to get a drink.

Unfortunately, according to my friend who was sitting nearby she had actually been fishing for a compliment from me and had said ‘ Aww, looks like you got left with the ugly one then, gorgeous’.

I felt quite bad as she was a lovely girl.. Swing and a miss :-)

Actually, just been for a browse of some of the flat Earth ‘evidence’ being presented, expecting nutters yelling at each other about lizards, but was surprised to find some very well sculpted arguments with an awful lot of (terrible) proof.
And, of course, some nutters yelling about lizards.

But if you had no scientific knowledge and a good hint of gullibility, or mental health issues, I could almost understand why people could be taken in by this and other conspiracy theories.

Some people just want to believe.

    ^^^ This so much.
I know a couple of people, including a vegan teetotaler, non smoker, never taken drugs type who seems to share Scud’s mates theories and will deliver fervent lectures to all who will listen to them, along with many who try not too.

Really wanted to do a ‘The Rabbi just collects the tips’ joke, but thought better of it.

Another vote for the Aldi ‘DefinitelyNotAnEnduraFullMonty’ gloves, or troy lee xc when it is warm out.

Same way that we clean water activity stuff at work which can build up a stink in no time.
One bucket, some hot water and a couple of sterilisation tablets.
Soak and agitate for 20 mins then rinse clean.
Brings them back to new(ish), but seems to work better than anything else that I’ve tried thus far.

Don’t most road shoes and mtb spd shoes look pretty much identical apart from the sole tread anyway?

Correct, you will need a front 180mm shimano adaptor
    Like this.

Plus one for the rear like this.

OK, maybe not the most powerful, but that’s a niggle rather than a problem.

I’m always surprised how quick the 1.7 CRDI engine actually is.

Ahh, should have added that ours is a 1.4 petrol.
My other half really fancies an Optima 1.7d next, so it’s good to hear that it is ok!

Had a Ce’ed for two years now, no complaints at all. OK, maybe not the most powerful, but that’s a niggle rather than a problem.

Had great success rebuilding the legs after an accident by dropping the seat and riding everywhere standing up for a couple of months.
Even medium rides hurt like hell at first but they get strong fast!

Isn’t it more a reference to horses perceiving quiet, fast moving things as predatory, rather than bikes directly killing horses?

I both love and distrust horses in equal measure. Wonderful animals, but amazingly unpredictable, so always making them aware of our presence on approach and talking? to them as we pass carefully is good advice.

This also applies to the Terrex trail shoes

    Anyone use these?

Just got a pair off Ton on here the other week. Not the best for walking in, but they grip flats better than my 5:10 impacts.

    Love them.

Indeed it does, I would say the small model looks a bit short for 150, but the xl looks about right..
A bit of on screen measuring has the small at 115 and the bigger ones at 150mm, but it’s not the best technique.

You would think that they would just, you know, write it down in the geometry chart like all the rest!

Don’t have one, but seem to recall a 150mm headtube on all sizes.

Edit: Just looked on crc and found that someone had asked the same question, receiving the same rely, so 150mm it is.

And the back. Have had a 42 on it with lots of mud room to spare, but was too bouncy for my liking. 35 feels nice.

Edit: Nah, I think a 50 might just be ok, tyre profile dependent.

Actual gap between fork legs is 50mm, same at the seat and chainstays.

Got 35c on mine and there is loads of room to go.
Can get a finger between the tyre and frame at both seat and chainstays, same at the fork.
Spacing is standard 135mm, mine works fine with 9 speed road shifters paired with xt mtb cassette and mech.

Stopped using them years ago as there were better options nearby who actually seemed happy to have customers.
No idea what the current situation is, but the relocating sign has been up for a very long time now.

I run 26-36 chainrings and bashguard with an 11-34 cassette on a 26″ bike.

Exactly this, same setup, covers pretty much everything with all the ground clearance that I could want.

Tom – I note you still did not give a source for that graphic which contradicts Nutts work

    Just searched it for you.
    It’s from:
Development of a rational scale to assess the harm of drugs of potential misuse – Prof David Nutt, Leslie A King, PhD, William Saulsbury, MA, Prof Colin Blakemore, FRS

You mean they were given food, and decided to prepare said food?

Not quite. A terrible attempt at slaughter left the animal alive and suffering for far too long, all the time within ten feet of the other stock which had to watch and listen to the whole thing.

That was one of the least humane kills that I have ever witnessed, especially in a non survival situation for the entertainment of tv viewers.

But please don’t think that I am some hardcore vegan, opposed to all consumption of flesh whilst promoting the human rights of animals, far from it.

What should have happened is that they should have moved the pig to a killing area, away from the other livestock.
Planned their actions so that everyone had an idea of what they were about to do, in what order.
Made a clean cut and been prepared to collect the highly nutritious blood, rather than a shallow cut that needed repeating and letting the blood spill out onto the floor.
It just makes me feel bad that modern mankind has got to this point of inability, thoughtlessness and wastefulness.

Oh yeah, all of this happened (was scripted) within the first few days. Food was freely available elsewhere.

Was this the one where they were given a few pigs and decided to slaughter one (badly) right in front of the others?

If so, I hope that this was some kind of fitting punishment..
