Get it looked at by an upper limb specialist, if possible.
I had a nasty off in 2004, resulting in arm dislocation and a grade V/VI A/C separation, among other things. The separation was missed due to soft tissue trauma and the dislocated humerus. In the end, it took four bouts of surgery to repair and restore some functionality.

It is still a long way from right, though it is at a point where
    I can live with it.

Apparently, the biggest contributing factor to the long term damage and slow recovery was the fact that it was not operated on within the first four weeks. This is the case with all A/C injuries that require surgical attention.

Early physiotherapy to help with the other dislocation may have actually made the whole thing worse.

I would get it checked out thoroughly before attempting rehabilitation, as the severity of mine was missed on the first set of x-rays.
It is always nice to be sure.

Tried that on mine to no avail..
Next plan is to gently tap the pivot rivets with punch or something in an effort to close them up slightly.
This is in no way a recommendation, though!

2×9 xt here. Mine just started doing the same… I now have a passionate hatred of riding over cobbles :-)
Tbh, I think it has just worn out. The pivots seem to be a little slack, allowing some play, so I adjusted the top mech stop to be in firm contact when in the 36 ring. It helped a bit, but I think it’s pretty much dead.

    Go on, then.

Not as pretty as some of the others, maybe..

It can lead to odd reactions in some people. A friend all but cured his chronic eczema by cutting out both gluten and dairy. Cutting out one or the other did not help, so he missed the connection for years.

    gut flora can be altered

This is true, but it is dependant on the sufferers level of the condition.
Mild(secondary) lactose intolerance is not an well defined condition (possibly not a condition at all, maybe more of a ‘sensitivity’). Lactase production can be stimulated by introducing lactose into the food intake in some individuals, but the effectiveness of this is limited, as the production increase is usually small and takes time, but this is dependent on the capability of production in the first place.
The introduction of probiotics seem to allow short term tolerance, but the bacterial colonies that make this happen are often short lived, requiring regular top-ups.
This is what seems to be happening with your wife. As soon as the specialised bacterial colony loses its food source (lactose), they are rapidly out-competed by their bacterial neighbours, hence, back to square one.

Did you know that intolerance is the basic setup of most mammals, post weaning?
People who continue to produce lactase in the gut into adulthood are the genetic mutations! Freaks…. :-)

Yep, have been all my life until fifteen years ago when I discovered Lactase enzyme tablets.
One before a lactose containing meal and no probs.

Your gut cannot be retrained, though, no matter what you eat. The inability to digest lactose is a genetic anomaly where the gene expression responsible for lactase production is effectively ‘turned off’.

Not just you! I found a crack in my full suss so went for a second hand Cotic Bfe (Thanks to samjgeorge86 for a great deal). Love it! No plans for full bounce in the near future!

And most of us know somebody who’s died of cancer , I don’t think your friend dying really should have any bearing on this situation

    Especially as he didn’t smoke…

What pressure are they at now? Should be around the 50-80 psi depending on how you like ’em.

    Looking great, Stoner!
And after spending the last three hours clearing local trails with a stick, I think might just have to have a go at one too..

Cotic again, but a vote for the BFe this time. Tough as you like, and can be built quite light.

Upping the front to a 180mm will make a difference, both in power and modulation however, rotor/pad contamination or even slight caliper misalignment will dramatically reduce stopping power. Maybe try changing pads and degrease everything to see if there is an issue?
My deores of the same era could happily supply endo’s on a 160, and I weigh the same as you.

If they are becoming too much of a problem, I suppose a jetwash might do the trick :-)

My last two wheel builds have borth been 521’s. They just don’t seem to break..

Although, someone else will be along in a sec to say the exact same thing about Flows :D

I’m just wondering what they could do to harm a laurel. They are pretty indestructible.

Try just collecting them in a jar and drop them somewhere nice when out on a ride, perhaps?
Also, Moths and butterflies are pretty much the same thing.

With you on that on, JoshVegas. Much less work in the long run than elimination.

You don’t! It is recommended to plant something else that they like and move them to that.
That way there will still be plenty of butterflies later in the year.

I look on them as temporary pets.. :D

That is great work, vader. I have been meaning to cast a bronze knife for ages.
Where did you source/how did you make the bronze?

I would leave the willowherb.. They will keep coming back, no matter how well you weed.
I like them around because the bees and hover flies seem to enjoy them.

    Looks lovely, Countzero!

Ta, globalti, I tried to get the pattern of the wooden stand to roughly match the lines of the knife. Kinda worked..

I never seem to take any picture of stuff I make..
Only one that I have is of this one, for a mates birthday..
    Apologies for the terrible pics!

Unknown wood, with red deer antler pommel. The blade was made from re forged block of 1095 steel.

Honestly, it did look much nicer than the pictures show…

The stand is a piece of cherry root.

For context, a Habanero pepper is 150,000- 500,000 scoville.

Weirdly, it does not taste of anything in particular. Bit hot, mind…

Nah, works fine without the ferrule. They are generally added to toughen up the work end and to make it look nice. You can easily file out a bit of flat brass/aluminium/steel then glue it to the end once the tang fits if you want.

Also, I tend to drill out a space for the end nut and then cover it over when tightened by hammering a wooden plug in over the top and sanding it back with the rest of the handle, especially on work tools.

Voila! fully hidden, and no blisters on the hands from the pommel!

    cdoc

The normal way to secure a hidden tang/rat tail is to drill out the handle to about 6mm down the centre, then heat the tang and tap it in, burning the wood to make a secure to fit. The blade should normally be secured by threading the last 10mm of the tang and bolting it together

However, the tang looks to be a little short for that, so either just use a good fit and lots of epoxy, or drill a small hole through both the handle and the tang close to the blade and pin them together with a bit of brass rod or similar

Edit: Just noticed that it is a 30cm ruler in the pic! That should be more than long enough to thread and bolt.

They look almost identical to the deity decoys above, ticsmon. I love ’em.

Looks like a good idea. Will have to wait and see how it deals with dinged rims, though.
I have dents in my wheels deeper than that rim height!

Apologies, pic is of the decoy.
I meant this one.. Skyskraper, although I have used decoys too and they feel almost identical.

The website has the rebuild kits, but mine have not needed it as yet, so have not looked at ordering.

I am loving my Deity flats. Very grippy and very thin at 11mm.

Seem to be very similar to the superstars in shape, but come up a little lighter, I think..

That’s what I have been using for the last few months. All good so far!
The ardent allows a little slip and slide fun, whilst the front end stays planted. Took a couple of rides to get used to the high roller, but it turns out that it just loves being leaned over.

Also, with a 60a compound on the front, they roll brilliantly. Very stable, no ‘squirm’ in the corners.

I much prefer them to the previous mountainkings, although as I have just moved to a hardtail and am now considering a hans damph for the front as it has a little more volume than the HR.

Bear, I am confused now :?

10 days ago those socks were fetching £50+ with lots of interest yet now the similar listings are all at 99p or unsold!

Are they out of season now?

Also, I recommend replacing the output capacitors with something a little more hefty. Cleans up the sound no end and allows higher volumes without clipping.
