I have the french app, and it allows to scan qr codes to check their validity.
I could try scanning uk ones to see if they are recognised.

I worked in the UK hospitality industry for 20 years, till I moved back to France in 2017. Wages are only one part of the problem for British people. Unsociable hours are a bigger issue. Very few British people want to work on a Saturday night when their mates are going out.
And to be fair to the debate, finding good chefs in France this year is very difficult. With Covid a lot of experienced hospitality staff have changed career and don’t want to go back. It is not just a UK problem, but Brexit certainly is not helping.

Years ago I got some of those animals shaped blow up bouncy balls. It took lots of emails to get it sorted and shipping wasn’t too bad. We already had a soft play business at the time so it was easy to sell the first few at a decent price. Then a lot of people started selling them and I got rid of them as a job lot.
Certainly enjoyed the learning experience of shipping and buying in China and made money.

We have an Intex pool in the garden. 5m by 3 and 1m40 deep.
I swim with bungee ropes and can manage an hour.
In the town we also have a 50m Olympic pool, with diving board etc…
And compared to the UK, the diving board is pretty much a free for all. No need to wait at the bottom.

Despite not living in Uk anymore I still take an interest in UK politics . Very disappointed with Starmer .
I am not even sure he mentioned Brexit since signing Boris deal .
With PMQ , he is not far from Corbyn bus timetables level . Food exports to the EU down , Deloitte consultants paid 1000s a day , and he talks about foreign aid and size of the army ??

If he carries on like that he will never win an election .

    another view from France , and a very rural part ;

I am 46 and got the Astra jab last week . Supply is slow but people who qualify and who want a jab can have it . But some many people dont want it , Astra or other .

Sadly it is all political .

I have had 8 tests so far , and there is no way I would want someone untrained to do it . It is bad enough as it is .
I am not sure I would be able to do it to myself either . Surely a lot of those tests came back negative as people didnt push them far enough in their nose !
    Not Uk based .

After living 20 years in the UK, I can call myself bilingual in French and English, but my southern France accent is still strong.
We are back living in France and my 12 year old daughter, can speak and write both perfectly. Last year her French teacher at school could not believe she only moved to France 3 years earlier. The only thing she struggles with at school is writing with letters attached.

Would your Swedish girl friend be allowed to live in the UK without regular job and income?
I have spent 20 years in the UK, but now that I am back in the south of France, no way I am going back.

I snapped 3 in a few years, 2 rides a week. So not dramatic but annoying when it happens and no spare.

I had one, and it was fine for ages. My son used it as a jump bike and smashed both chainstays on a bad landing.
And yes to mech hangers, stupid design.

@ Pondo , 100% true . We live in same town . Millau south of France . He started as an ambulance driver .
I ride past his house regularly , he has a huge garage with lots of his old race cars , including the Toyota the year he became World champion . they gave it to him .
his son is a fighter jet pilot and his daughter a dancer in New York .
very simple and down to earth man .

Other way round for me, ordered some bits from start fitness yesterday to be delivered to France. It now says that prices are exclusive of vat. They add charges so not sure if I will have to pay something when it arrives.
Still their Scott products are so much cheaper.

A plastic pipe with a clamp you can do really tight , like on a hosepipe . Same on the other end attached to a pump .

It only needs pressuring once or twice a year .
