I thought this was another thread about mountain bike training courses?

    Have a look at this

    Primal Blueprint 101

Basically a low carb diet but it does seem to be supported by a lot of scientic evidence. Myself and 3 mates have all used it to good effect. Main benefit I found is that cutting out carbs does suppress appetite, something to do with regularising blood sugar levels, whatever the reason it's worked and 4 formally fat b*stards are not now quite so fat.

    Look at this site

    http://www.direct.gov.uk/redundancy.dsb

If you are made redundant that's what the law says your employer has to pay you (provided you have been employed for 2 years – less and you'll get nowt). So in negotiating a deal that's the minimum you should get. The only reason they mught pay you more is if they think they have cocked up in dismissing you (redundancy is a dismissal)and are worried you might make a successful claim to an employment tribunal. If it's a big firm with HR and legal advice I would guess they probably haven't cocked up. A smaller firm acting without advice may have done.
Goes back to what I said earlier really about you getting some advice. Have you tried CAB?
    Good luck whatever!

The max you could get for unfair dismissal is £76,700, most of which would be a compensatory award of £65,300, the rest being what they call a basic award. The compensatory award covers loss of wages and future loss of wages but can be reduced by any payments (redundancy etc) your employer pays you.
BUT your employer would have to have cocked up big time for you to achieve anything like this level of compensation. Treating you badly for so long might be a factor but the employment tribumal (and that's who would decide) would want to know why you didn't raise it an as issue sooner (internal grievances, why didn't you resign and claim unfair dismissal etc, etc).
Best advise would be to see a your trade union (if you are in one) or a no win, no fee solicitor, but on the face of it it looks like your best option might be to take the money and run (and negotiate a good reference), after all they have been the a*rseholes not you.

I'm in the middle of a semi continuous Munro round, scheduled to finish Sept. What are you up to?

Started my semi continuous Munro round in 1988, only got 40 left to do

Lots of people, including me have recommended these people in similar threads:

    http://www.triple-s.co.uk/

Not near you but do mail order at good prices and produce a top class finish.

Like Burls72 I think breathable jackets are overrated for summer use. Really good in colder weather but there needs to be a temperature gradient for them to work.

If it's as warm and wet outside the jacket as you are inside the jacket then no "breathing" will take place and you'll just remain warm and wet and wonder why you just forked out £150 on a breathable jacket.

Colin Kirkus used to wear a tweed jacket whatever the weather, said it worked fine in winter once the out side got frozen :-)

And another vote for Triple S

I've used them various motorbike bits. As said they do all the masking for you, provide a great finish, are good to deal and very reasonably priced, and I'm no relation

Are you sure that it's not filth in the lever/cable?. I had to have mine apart a couple of times, give it all a bloody good clean and lube and reasemble it. The spring is strong enough to snap it back into place when clean and free running, but isn't designed to drag the lever through a load of muck and bullets.

It's not the cable. I've disconnected it and when you manually turn the lockout on it doesn't spring back to the off position, which is what tpercy wants, but I don't, maybe we should swap forks!

I have the reverse problem, the return spring in the damper has stopped working. Not fixed it yet but found this thread which has some picks of the damper mechanism. Looks pretty easy to unhook and disable the return spring.

Used Triple S in Bingley for various motorbike bits and they are top quality + quote about £50 for a mountain bike frame. Here

My standard reply to any cold call is to hang up after saying "I'm sorry I don't speak english" , which coming from a yorkshireman is at least partly true.

You shouldn't send a "generic" CV if you are applying for a specific job

Such CV's are easy to spot and it looks to those recruiting that you haven't bothered researching the job. Things like education and employment history can be constants but tailor the rest of your application to the specific job you are applying for.

Go through the job description (and personnel spec) and pick out all the things they are looking for then one by one demonstrate that you have got that skill, experience or knowledge.

So if it says you need knowledge of this or that software package say how your experience has given you that knowledge, quote examples of things you have done that show you have that knowledge. Try and keep it brief (recruiters don't like war and peace type applications) and don't tell lies, maybe embellish things a bit because you should make the best of what you have.

So there you go and if you get the job you can paypal me the £350

Change the way you eat and go Primal

    Have a look here

    Primal Blueprint 101

Basically a low carb diet which has worked well for me and a few mates (just make sure you eat carbs when you need them before and during rides)

    Does this count?

I like mine, comfy and fits well but main reason I bought it was because it has a larger size shell in the XL size than most others (which use the same size shell for a wider range of fits). So if your a big heed like me it doesn't look like a peanut perched on top of your ed

You do, have a problem that is, in your case you are a cold and timid soul who knows neither victory nor defeat :D

And thanks for a great ride today.
