I had this on audio tape. Loved it. That’s brought back some memories.

TK Maxx is a good bet for a decent wallet. I got a nice Oliver Sweeney one in there for peanuts. They were still online for £50ish as well.

It’s quite quick fire, so by the time you’ve pushed back up the hills, you’re riding again. You’ll get warm, and as has been said, the car will be a minute away so take whatever you think you may need.

I guess, he’s a bit blinkered. You could be on here saying “Dave at ABC Bikes is a top bloke, he got us out of a right hole half way through a ride”

    But instead….

I’ve spent my winter at Woburn too. The sand is a killer, but apart from the odd bog, it’s reasonable all winter.

I got VIP tickets for the darts a couple of years ago, I tried to offer some left over pizza to Will Greenwood on the next table, when he refused, I turned it over and drew a large cock on the base with the black marker from the table and offered it to him again..he still refused. Funny what a free bar does to you.

    +1.

456 evo Sektor? about £800. Nice bike. A do it all bike. You could also ask them to change the fork out for some dual position sektor coils, and you’d have a 150mm for gnarrr…and a 120 for xc/singletrack.

I bought a KS Lev in the Superstar sale for about £200. Briliant bit of kit. No loops of cable and a quality item. It’s working fine, but time will tell. I think you’d kick yourself not getting one with a remote. the time you usually want to drop your post on the fly will generally be uber bumpy and tricky, so taking a hand off the bar and crotch scrabbling to drop your post will not be ideal.

Often done to avoid adding another previous owner to the cars log book.

They do say never to look at a car away from the registered keepers address though.

Don’t be blinkeed by a good deal, if you’ve got your doubts walk away.

Meant to say, I also use the coal briquette things sometimes too. They’re really good, smokeless, and burn for hours, usually still warm after 24hrs.

I use a big piece of fire lighter, handful of kindling, light it leave door open an inch to get it roaring, chuck on a smallish dry log once the flames are roaring, and close the door with both vents open. Then keep adding as you go. Once the fire is established I wind in the vents until I get a nice consistant slow lick of flame, that way your logs last longer and it pumps out a reasonable amount of heat.

7 Weeks delay is a long time, and it’s not unreasonable to ask for your money back. Did you have any agreement in writing from them? Or did you just had them cash weekly?

OK, can’t you say offers over £X, and accept what you feel happy with?

Look at ebay’s completed items? Things generally go for what they’re worth, so will give you an indication.

+1 for Physio. Had hamstring pain before the London to Brighton Off Road last year, and within 3 sessions she’d fixed me. Thought I was going to have to pull out. Money well spent.

    Do it. Enjoy it.

Get what bike you want, not what people tell you to get. No point owning a bike you don’t like and don’t want to ride.

I did my direct access 8 years ago, and jumped straight onto a CBR600F, which was an absolutely fabulous bike. Did everything, went everywhere, B-Road scratching, touring, track days etc.

I changed it after 2 years and bought a CBR1000rr, which I still have, and have taken to the Alps, Pyrenees, and Spain. Amazing experiences.

Get good gear, and a helmet that fits properly, and never ever ride anywhere without all yur kit on.

Fit crash bungs to your bike. I almost guarentee you’ll drop it on the ground in he first year, usually doing something simple like wheeling it out of the garage. :-)

Enjoy, don’t look back. Freedom awaits!!
