In our Junior school, we all got addressed as ‘miserable little squirts’ or ‘miserable little ticks’ by one teacher.

It’s his lookout. Who doesn’t google a hotel and check location, rating, facilities before booking?. He’s either a fool or a punter. Let him get on with it.

Clear, clean board and insulate the loft if required.

Work from the top down, do any work required in the loft, then the bedrooms, then the recpetions/kitchen etc, that way you’re not making a mess of your freshly painted/cleaned rooms as you go.

Yup, interest-free credit card. Spend the money, cut the card up and then set up a standing order to get it all paid off before the due date. We’ve done it for cars twice and the new kitchen.

This. Just be disciplined, cut up the card, and don’t keep the details, you then can’t use it for anything else.

Notching back on the carbs so some sort of protein, chicken or similar and a mound of green veg. Exciting stuff.

Think the original idea behind electric was partly that so we could have a shower when the hot tank was off/cold and there used to be 5 of us living there (which of course no longer applies), but also the hot water pressure is pretty feeble compared to the cold so a mixer may not be that great.

We have an Aqualisa Aquastream power shower that fits on the wall like a normal electric shower but requires a hot and cold feed. It’s great

They’re about £350 + fitting. Lovely powerful shower, no messing with seperate pump. Cheap to install.

Plug your hub into the master socket see how you go, take the extension wiring out of the equation.

Any bad wiring, pinched cable, slight crackle, or dodgy connection of any sort in the extension wiring will cause havoc with your connection stability and speed.

Just unweight the front at the lip by pushing down a little on the bars and then extending your body straight as if you were jumping (on foot) off the lip bend the knees on landing to absorb some impact, look up and straight ahead.

If you can ride off a kerb and land both wheels together you can do most drops. The skills are the same, just bigger balls required.

I had an issue with a pair of old coil forks once. The spring just wasn’t right for my weight, it used to dive under braking and bumps and pitch me over the front occasionally. Couldn’t get the right spring so bought an air fork, ran the right pressures, and stopped going OTB.

Adjust your lever position to be more level with the bars, not pointing down to the floor. This will bring your wrists down in line with the bars, bring your weight back when descending, help stop arm pump, and also allow you to ‘push’ the bars over bumps and obstacles, as opposed to support your weight on wrists bent the wrong way.

I see so many people with levers under the bars, pointing at the floor.

Airbags are bloody expensive, often cars are written off because the added cost of replacing the airbags make it uneconomical to repair. Someone crash repairing cars and looking for a cheaper option to get them back on the road, may have bought in good faith.

+1 for Powerline. Saved us at our new house, only BT socket in far bedroom, no wifi in 60% of the house, couple of WiFi powerline adapters, and I’ve got signal everywhere, and important devices plugged in via cable.

Trust me they do. He’s not been bombed yet as he has the benefit of doubt it’s just very odd and randomn. Just like the Lego and spy equipment posts, both of which replied then one of them happened to find a website selling the items he wanted. They even posted a handy link to it all.

    Fair enough! :-)

Canton DM50 here. Amazing thing. Love it. Unless you’re seriously into surround and home cinema, it does everything you need, and sounds great. Over budget, but have a look on ebay, there’s one on there now at £77 auction, 10 hours to go.

Lucky to find one with renewable bearings most machines now have to be binned when the bearings go, as they’re all integral.

Independent broker, shouldn’t cost you anything, or look yourself online and contact the lenders direct. Brokers do manage the process, though and ensure all paperwork is correct.

Make cheeky offers..why not! As has been said, the worst they can say is NO. As a first time buyer with a mortgage approved you’re essentially a cash buyer and that may make any offer you make more attractive. I offered 20k under asking price on my first house, and when they said no I walked away, 3 weeks later they phoned me and asked if I was still interested at my offer price, I was and I bought it. You just don’t know peoples circumstances and how keen they are to sell.

Don’t worry about mortgage term, you will move, you will have other houses and mortgages, just get on the ladder, you can worry about mortgage terms later.

He’s just letting the prize pot grow. It’s taken a year to get to 10K so no point resetting it now.

It’s akin to cashing out on your acca bet, he took a gamble that he might win it further down the line when it’s more money.

    Don’t see the issue.

What was he thinking!! Loads of people scrape their season ticket money together each year, to watch shite like that yesterday, and he’s struggling to spend his £60k a week and looking at his next motor. Unreal.

Thanks folks. The wiring is reasonable recent, before I moved in, not archaic, everything has an earth wire for example. Any problems I’ll post up. Thanks for confirming the faceplate thing. :-)

Yep, I get my hair cut 3 times/year in a mates salon and usually tip £5 for the girls who wash it before my mate cuts it

You have your hair cut every 4 months?? Wow. Slow grower or hairy beast?

an 8 month old Springer needing rehoming…

Lovely dogs, but incredibly demanding. They need an obscene amount of exercise to stay sane. A friend of mine works outside all day on a country estate and his goes everywhere off the lead, and does what it likes all day. It still demands walks when he gets home.

My Aunt had one, she was lazy and didn’t walk it enough it was incredibly bright and became incredibly naughty and a bit mad in the head, probably through boredom.

Our dogs always had their proper names, but then, among the various children around, would inevitably get an entirely unrelated ‘nickname’ or two.

They would always respond no matter which name was used, as they would hear them enough to know they were theirs.

    ^This.

Our dog George is known as Mr D-Q and Leelow to name a couple. Go figure.

Yes, we changed our rescue dogs name when we got him at the age of 3. It sounds reasonably similar. It doesn’t really matter, you quickly develop about 25 nick names for them anyway.

Yeah, I did see that but it minimum 25m if they’ll even deal with me. Also can’t tell if its the proper extra flexible stuff used on phones.

Call ’em. Bound to have an off cut, or ask them for a metre sample. ;-)
