Sorry – If dated that long after the offence, use the letter above and they’ll drop it like a stone. Or punish your wife and send off the form.

Try not to be angry with her. She has made a very brave (albeit devastating for you) decision. Living with someone who doesn’t care for you or want to be with you, would make you and your kids miserable.

After every winter comes a spring, so as hard at is is to fathom now, things will get better.

Good luck, be kind and look after yourself.

What is the date on the NIP? Irrespective of when you received it?

    Dear Officer ******,

CVVVVVVVV – Notice of Intended Prosecution

I received your letter dated *********, the references for which are detailed above. I have enclosed a copy of the Notice sent to me recently, for ease of cross-reference.

You have written to me because I am the Registered Keeper of the vehicle mentioned in your Notice. My address is correct as per the details at DVLC, and the vehicle was not a Company car, and was neither hired nor borrowed.

No Officer spoke to me at the time of the alleged offence, and no accident took place. Also, no Police person has spoken with me at or near the time and place detailed in your Notice. The written Notice is the first indication from you of any intention to prosecute.

Your Notice details the alleged offence as VV:VVhrs on *********. The Notice is dated ********, and it came to me by post, received on ********.

Excluding the day of the alleged offence, this was **th day from the date detailed in your Notice.

Following discussions with the RAC Legal Helpline, please note that the Notice cannot be acted upon as it is time-expired. For this Notice to have been valid, it ought to have been with me within 14 days of the alleged offence [Gidden v Chief Constable of Humberside [2009] EWHC 2924 (Admin)].

It was suggested I write back to you immediately with these comments.

    Yours sincerely

I’ve learned that old houses such as this don’t like to be sealed up by modern building materials, and modern windows and doors.

Original plaster would have been lime or similar and original finishes would not have been vinyl based paints. This would have allowed moisture to escape from the walls naturally, this moisture would have been vented out by ill fitting doors, windows and roofs. It worked.

Over the years people have forced modern (cheaper) building materials on old houses, locking in moisture and causing damp. Modern winows and doors and double glazing have stopped the natural airflow too.

Live with it. Ventilate, heat and as you do home improvments be sympathetic to the house by using traditional materials.

I’m a great believer that if you have a dog with a propensity to bite another dog, you should have it muzzled in public.

    Doesn’t help you much, sorry.

Write it off, it’s a pretty unusual occurrence in my experience, almost all dogs I meet are friendly to my hound, but if I ever see one on a lead, and have any concerns I’ll put mine on a lead.

ETA: You may find that he now has a bit more respect for other dogs, and in a miserable way might have taught him a lesson.

Quite a few years ago when I was an ebay newb, our company changed all it’s PC’s. They were going to be chucked so I decided to take them all, wipe them, put a clean OS on and sell them on ebay.

They sold like hot cakes, but I stupidly sold them complete with 17″ CRT monitors and guestimated the postage. A bloke in Ireland bought 10. Cost me a fortune to post them, and 5 out of the 10 monitors turned up smashed.

TV makes a massive difference. Some Samsungs almost look unnatural showing HD. My Panasonic is great, but a lot more subtle.

If you think you’ll enjoy it a lot more, that will shine through, you’ll be more motivated, more diligent and more effective. If the company is half decent, these things might get recognised and you might get promotion/more money etc…

Lowa Mountain Boot GTX. Brilliant. A bit over budget, but mine are still going strong after 2 years of abuse. Perfectly waterproof, resoleable too. Comfy out of the box.

    Indian Spiced leg of lamb

    1 butterflied leg of lamb
    about 2½ kg/5lb 8oz

    For the marinade
    finger-length piece ginger chopped
    4 garlic cloves, roughly chopped
1 tbsp each turmeric, garam masala and cumin seeds
    1 tsp paprika
handful coriander leaves, plus extra sprigs to serve
    juice 1 lemon
    150ml natural yogurt

1.Using a hand blender or mini food processor, whizz marinade ingredients to a smooth paste, then season with salt. Lay the lamb in a ceramic dish and coat with the marinade. Cover in cling film and leave to marinate in the fridge for at least 4 hrs or preferably overnight.
If you are using a charcoal barbecue, wait for the coals to become white and glowing (light the barbecue about an hour before you want to cook the lamb). If using a gas barbecue, cook the lamb over medium heat. Lift lamb out of the marinade and barbecue, flesh-side down, for about 25 mins. Flip it over and give the fat side about 15 mins. When the lamb has a dark brown crust and is cooked to your liking, leave it to rest on a board for 15 mins.

Should be able to do it by feel, give it a prod. The firmer it is, the more well done it is.

Also if you know its weight, you can roughly say that your BBQ’s gonna be about 200c indirect heat, so you can work out a rough cooking time.

It’ll blow your budget, but I have one of these for very similar usage:

    Casio

It’s solar, so won’t need a battery, it’s radio controlled so is always killer accurate (which works brilliantly), it’s 200m WR, and it’s hard to kill. Fits under a sleeve, unlike most g-shocks and you don’t look like a Japanese tourist wearing it.

The Che Guevara, The Half Man Half Biscuit and the Marvel.

I hope you are under 30, and wearing them as some sort of cool retro look you’ve got going on.

If you are over 30, it might be time to throw away all your ‘cool’ t-shirts and embrace being an adult. ;-)

I did 2 ribs in mid December 2015. I’ve finally stopped feeling the final twinges in the last couple of weeks. I could have happily ridden hard after 3 months or so, but it’s taken 6 to be 100% again.

Good fake CCTV camera pointing at the area, and a sign asking people to clean up after their dog, and that they’re on CCTV.

They’ll be local people, so won’t like the idea of being caught in the act, even if you’re not actually filming.

Is it just me that feels a bit uneasy seeing white men telling the OP how he and his pals should react to this?

    You’re assuming we’re all white?

Anyway, really don’t see what this has to do with anything. Advice is being given on the best way forward within the law to deal with this abuse, it could be any form of verbal abuse, it just so happens its racial in this instance.

Stay in Hertford. Nice County market town, good food options.

Get out around Hertford, Essendon, Brickendon – lots of Bridleways, good rolling countryside, but nothing to wow you. Easily string 2-3 hour loops without much effort though.

Welwyn also nice, lots of riding in and around the Brocket Estate which you can link up with the Bramfield Woods area.

So, they came back to their house to find a load of your crap in their garden? (you mentioned taking it to the dump, so I’m assuming it was rubbish)

I think his reaction is justified frankly.

If they’re kind enough to allow you access over their property, that isn’t in the deeds, you should be doing your level best to not rock the boat in any way.

Jack Russell – Allergic to rice weirdly, makes his skin really itchy.

Trying to find dog food without rice in it is tricky, they all seem to use it as a bulking agent.

Wainwrights, salmon and potato dry food in a massive sack, and butchers wet food. He gets a fork full of meat just to make the dry stuff more interesting. Really healthy, loads of energy, healthy looking regular turds..lol.

I’ve just read the discussions tab on his youtube account…well as much of it as I could be bothered. Looks like he’s just a first class troll idiot, seems to get a kick out of abusing random people online, he’s pissed off a lot of people.

I always thought modifying cars for the sake of it was a daft game. Either buy a car you want to drive fast, do some track days and get faster. Or go racing and modify the car within whatever the rules allow (which may or may not ban coil-overs anyway meaning your expensive upgrade is of use to neither man nor beast).

One thing I have learnt from years of racing and tracking cars is to buy one already done. You never get back what you spend to get them modified and you can get one with all the trick bits you want on it for not a lot.

I’d have no issue with defending oneself, or standing up to physical attacks, but so far this clown has posted foul comments on a video on the internet, not chucked a brick through your window or attacked anyone.

The suggestion was that physical violence might be a solution, it isn’t. It maybe a last resort if it escalates beyond the security of his keyboard and you or your friends are physically attacked.

In my experience of idiots like this, they are a different animal when not sat behind the apparent security and anonymity of their computer screens.

Report it to the police, who will take it seriously, let them do their job.

Unless the police can absolutely guarantee the safety of Gonzy’s friends when out enjoying riding their bikes, then I’m afraid the only option is safety in numbers. And if it takes having to smack a few racists about a bit..

So physical abuse to counteract racial abuse? Is one better or more acceptable than the other?

If you come out of it with the car you want, then do it.

There could be a number of reasons why that car is not available now, including the one he gave you. Mechanic crashed it going to get lunch, stolen, broken for spares by the garage to do a rush job etc etc.

Just be more proactive about keeping in touch and getting updates. If it is Goodwood Sports Cars as has been suggested they have a good rep. I have an MX5 mad friend who deals with them a lot.

Racism has no place in society, but neither does an angry hate mob of 30 people imho. Pass onto the police, call off the dogs, and move on thankful that you’re not an ignorant racist like some.
