Lomond shores…hmmmm   as a local  I can recommend the Maid of the Loch and the winch house for kids and adults.    Looks like she will be running within a few years too.

The Shopping complex however is a shithole, but appeals to a certain market.

Id go to to Portavadie, Oban, anywhere in argyll, for a better experience.

I went from 206 sw tardis to mondeo estate.    Considered sticking with a big Peugeot but mondeo came along at right price.

Huge whooshy smoothness.  Can fit a recumbent trike in the back with no disassembly.   It’s less tardis like and a tiny bit less practical in some respects than the smaller car.  Lower ground clearance and parking for example.

No.  Dog shit everywhere especially around well off areas. Dog owners all say they pick it up.  They all lie.   They also suffer from alzhiemers as they leave it in little bags “to pick up on the way back” and never do.

The Urban canine needs to be banned or taxed heavily unless it has an actual purpose.  Dog toilets provided in parks instead of using areas where children roam.

They smell.   They make the owners and houses smell too.   even the tiny clean ones still smell.

The number of doggy daycares and walking services shows that the wealthy just outsource the problem to other equally irresponsible people.   There is a woman in edinburgh that walks up to 14 dogs off the lead at one time .   Thats a lot of shit she is not collecting.

Gold brown Jaguar doing 80mph down the M6 today with an obvious dangerous collapsed suspension or bent axle or something.   swerving on everybump.  Jesus Christ I hope he got pulled.    bliddy idiot.

Its like the budget for traffic policing has been slashed or something…oh wait..

Time for some grown up sex and internet education for all parties.   Try not to let your hangups transfer to them.     Don’t patronise.    Do it earlier than you think.  Children and young adults are more sophisticated than you think, and sometimes more adult.  But you must advise and help.

Ive been to mali losinj.   Very Nice.  Great sailing but let down by lack of shore access.  (When you come from Scotland everywhere is an access disappointment)

Its usually pretty accurate for a large area.    Your own experience of local conditions and ability to read a pressure chart makes it even more accurate.        All forecasting compnies have been spot on since January – In Truro the other night they were accurate within an hour for rainfall over a 9 hour period.

Dundee is actually pretty awesome.   It has its highlights like every town.    Its a perfect size for electric bicycle commuting.    I commuted over the bridge for a month.   Its pretty exposed but drier than the west coast. nice and quiet over on the south side of the river.

Chuck them in the bin and buy a barely used Oreck or numatic for £30 that actually works.

For geniune incidents I can see their usefulness.    The people promoting them or users with youtube channels  appear to have a lot of incidents, or are incredibly bad at planning ahead and keeping out of trouble.      I suspect a lot of people that buy them may be of a similar bent not realising that half the trouble may be their own driving skills.

I concur.  Do the south west 200, the south south west 300, the trossachs and cairn gorm 9000 instead.

And watch out for Potholes – The roads have been hammered this winter.

I reckon its a similar effect to super cooled water that remains liquid until its disturbed like ice cubes in your fridge and freezes instantly and/or the fluid evaporates taking the last bit of heat out of the window and freezing it. It’s a known thing in Scotland – I don’t use the washers until there is a good bit of heat in the window. It can even happen with a strong solution.

The fish and chip shop is really good and does good seafood, the places on the pier are good too.
Go south to crinan, tayvallich for more seafood, beaver spotting and nice views and prehistoric stuff. Seil island and bridge over Atlantic good. The highland arts studio is terrible but so bad it’s worth a look.

No. No one with any sense would do it. You would need lenses and heat sinks designed for an LED to replace the point source halogen sitting in a reflector.

I ask that question by default. Seems reasonable before wasting either parties time. Often it is sold and they just haven’t got round to deleting their ad. But since it seems to offend what do you suggest instead?

I like decisive proactive buyers that move fast. I try to buy myself in the same style. and often you get sellers that don’t offer a time for collection, then get annoyed when you make that decision for them. I also give people time to get organised.

Be civil to them when they come as well. Nothing worse than taking the cash and abandoning folk in your garage when they might need a hand.

    Basically Chill.

Tayvallich, Lismore, Gigha, Rum and Eigg for the more adventurous. Don’t rule out the Mainland. Calmac have island hopping deals.

If you can get to Treshnish the puffins and other seabirds are pretty amazing. Philip at https://www.lochvisions.co.uk/ runs a great tour for the super keen photographer. Slow boats also leave from oban.

    I tried twice

Both androids I had became slow and unable to make a phone call without crashingj within a short time. They had no media and few apps. Every iphone has lasted a good 5 or 6 years and I never get the most recent.

How do you make android use an external memory card? It’s never worked or its half worked and you have to manually move stuff about. I want it all to be considered as one space.

    Sticking to iphone the noo.

Getting a new washing machine is cheaper than the plumbing/insurance involved to maintain a potentially disastrous fault.

But it’s your house. Do what you like. Or Turn off the mains water when you leave?

It happened to me as a visitor once for resurfacing, but their on street notification was poor, there were no cones or anything in place and the reception I got from the road crew despite moving it as soon as I was informed meant I had a good case. Take pictures.

I leave my car where I like. If people have Territorial attitudes to road outside their house that’s their problem. I still anticipate and try not to step on anyone’s toes Though. Unless they are dick about it. Kicking your door in though….we moved house after that.

Just fitted amtico in my girlfriends new flat.
Its warm under foot and looks good. My folks had it in their house (Busy B&B) and its maintained appearance for 15 years. It would have lasted longer but the house builders were unfortunately not of a similar quality. Needs a nice flat floor which can be achieved with a ply layer. Much better than drafty cold floorboards. They are using it again once the house repairs are complete.

It’s only going to open 80 something degrees and then bash into the wall/door stop which knocks off even more aperture? You’ll need narrower doors for the new frame? Sounds like max hassle for minimal benefit.
    Pictures would be handy.

I’ve got out a van before a reverse to check its clear at the rear, but you can’t account for an idiot nipping right up behind in the the time it takes to get back in the cab. I bought a camera that day.

Its also very good as a rear view mirror. I also operated in Parks and places where there were loads of pedestrians and people being banksmen are often not very good at keeping in your eyeline.

I find Long vans are easier to reverse than short ex BT Box vans. Van mirrors are still awesome.

My iPhone cover has the magnets in it. Just took it off and experimented. No effect. Apparantly iPhone 3 onwards has magnetometer.

Cold house? long nose pliers also work. And change to LED and save some power!

The Christmas lights in George square used to suck in water and reseal and still operate fine for the two months.

I think common sense would apply. If you live there and it’s safe enough, use it. If weather forecast is dodgy, plan ahead, and leave car where it’s safe and then walk home/use your mountain/quad bike even.
Chat up a farmer and club together and grit that section yourselves? There are probably grit bins along it for your use. If not ask for them or sort it yourself if its that system critical.

    Or hibernate?

Most of you complained about your fellow travellers, not the actual transport and failed to recognise the difference between transport for social purposes as well as commuting. Not everyone is as fortunate as you.

You hate people, not the transport. Try being civil and maybe improve the experience for everyone. Naw?

School Buses, in fact any bus and children – proceed with extreme caution. Even my sensible chum was killed at school. Driver was doing 35 in a 30 limit.

Every surface street should be 20 mph.
