Cycle switches, check for corrosion on relay terminals, sandpaper and grease if necc. check relay is functioning, check cabling. After this LBS!!!

    Motorcycle electrics are crap.

TJ – you mention water heating panels work in scotland, I’d like to see some tests done on that – I dont doubt it but I’d assume you needed a fairly large array to give any form of payback?

Not really – 5 panels provide enough hot water for 6 people in the summer and top up to 30 degrees on a grey day in the winter. You can see them here (well you cant actually but they are the 5 conservatory roof panels) It was a new build. Savings may have been nulled a bit by modern build quality of the boiler though!!

xan! see me after class! (he is sort of right but hopefully he doesn’t work for the CAB!!!)

Its VOSA not DVLA to get it replated/V5 updated. Nothing will get you into trouble if its done well and correctly, it’s just inspection, administration, and testing fees.

I suggest a telecoms or rail van. They will already have heaters, sinks and storage and seats in them and they are not ragged stupid like the post office vans. They mostly sit parked up all day. Also avoid anything with a towing diff. Check for disintigrating Dual mass Flywheels and not just on Transits either!

Centrifugal Paint roller cleaner – well improve on my design anyway. It paints the room quite well though…and yourself and the windows.

Depends on the kit fitted. but sounds optomistic for a 75 to 105….martin at http://www.vantuner.co.uk would answer any queries. He can also be found here too. http://www.fordtransit.org You never know he might have done the remap!

Some of the plug in gadgies are very generic and enthusiastic with their figures whereas a proper remap for torque/economy might be better.

I 2nd the Napier Deltic – pluttery chuffing on the west highland line and Collared doves combine to make the unique sound of home.

I also like my transit TD at 50 mph, it sounds like a fire engine.

Quicktime Pro to edit (well its nearly free)

    or mpeg streamclip to convert.

(MPEG streamclip also makes it possible to convert hard disc camera footage into something that premiere and FCP can deal with.)

We had Yoga Beats at the Bridge in Easterhouse last week. From David Sye – Frankie Vaughan’s son.
Culture and Sport are much cooler than you think!

If you try a bit harder and give it a chance I’m sure you will find all the facilities you want and need in Glasgow. We don’t really “do” people with preconceived notions. Some of the best public facilities are to be found in the poorer areas.
Glasgow is no worse than other big city.

Shoddily fitted poor design which we excel at in the uk.

There is probably a seal or insulation vibrating like a reed. Fill up the gap

I lived in a house in NZ that blew rasperries when it was windy.

I seriously considered changing all my accounts because of Howard – I still mention my annoyance at any bank interaction. I ask if they have sacked him yet. He seems to have gone quiet recently.

I put a book down on top of a computer keyboard attached to a Lighting desk Back up unit. It was on a shelf up above my head so I couldn’t actually see what was there.

The unit took control, Ran a cue and plunged Charles Kennedy and the liberal Democrat conference into near darkness during a Live TV broadcast by the BBC.

I unplug all keyboards attached to lighting desks and put them in another room when shows are on now!!

We have a Vertical platform lift. It can be tipped over to fit through doors BUT it needs to be placed on its lowering arm first. This requires humans to plan ahead and attach the arm.

    My Boss has dropped it
    I have dropped it
    Contractors have dropped it twice.

I have tried to drive through a roller shutter too. But cant beat my pals who took a Luton Van to….. a McDonalds drive through. They got their burgers, but did bring a bit of the height restriction barrier home with them.

In govanhill we used to sort our plastic paper and alu. into separate bins. Then they tipped it all into the SAME truck and resort it at polmadie with with their big fancy sorter. Now they have just given us one wheelie bin for paper plastic and alu. The bins all need to be in the one place. The Glass is out on the street.

There is no hope for our lovely asian neighbours that just chuck their black bags out the window.

I only really know the theatre business. You are about to get “Notes”

1 You no longer have to have an equity card or have done shows to get one. Anyone can have an agent. But they like you to make money so they can get their cut!

2 Am dram is one way to gain experience. If you are not prepared to gain any experience this way theatre is not for you. If you don’t know your USL from DSR you are screwed. Can you operate a door? Seriously. can you remember which way it opens. actors forget these basic tasks!

3 Life experience – the best actors have lived a bit, travelled, observed. But you don’t want too much of your own personality otherwise you will only get one type of job.

4 Do Not Work for Free in a professional show.. Theatre and TV have been relying on this for too long. One or two short jobs for experience but you will get exploited otherwise.

5 If you don’t get any work – write your own and prepare to be good at funding applications and finding sponsorship.

6 You can do it part time, a famous scottish panto dame I’ve worked with was a pipe fitter when he wasn’t acting. When he wasn’t a dame he was in taggart.

7 Training can take a longtime 3- 4 years, mature students do it as well. You need to be good at Voice, movement, history, fencing, dance, literature, music, singing. The busiest actors can do everything and may direct as they gain experience. Some retrain even if they are already working.

8 You have to do a lot of networking, and finding the right pubs and theatre bars to find your next job.
You could start off with some hard graft in theatre in education, Rural tours, being dead bodies in taggart. (Dawn Steel and the like all did this)

8 Equity minimum is about £350 quid a week. You do get overtime – but a 50 hour production week is not unheard of. The technicians will be doing 60 hours plus.

9 RSAMD, Rose bruford, WCMD and some of the london ones are all pretty similar for acting training. Once you graduate you will probably still have to work in a cafe or call centre though.

10 similar will apply to the film industry. make your own, join a film workshop, make contacts etc.

The arty writing is hard to read and its 3 clicks to find out what you are selling.

Notice the mature trees are relatively unscathed and its the undergrowth and the houses that are burnt.
I wonder if recent droughts has meant controlled burning has been put off . Urban areas will have expanded too.

    Its still tragic though.

    Duster hockey

    teams of 6 numbered 1 – 6
1 massive foam or cardboard dice
two bits of rolled up paper for sticks
    two goals

umpire rolls the dice, number X called, numbers X dash to the appropriate end, grab bats, score goal, carnage continue ad infinitum or till you break something.

or you could hire my special bike….linky in profile.
