Saw a couple going at it just beside the BMX track in Avoriaz. Yes, I nearly crashed.

On another ride I warned my sister about a bridge with parallel boards that a bike could get stuck in. She tootles merrily across the middle….Genius all knowing brother proceeds to drift into the slot, slowly go over the handle bars, across the side and into the snow bank down below. Cue much hilarity and "He knew! He knew!…he even knew, He told me! ahahahahah!"

I think paddling would be easier in a real sea kayak. Boat would be lighter as well.

I've got a hobie mirage drive coming but I know it will be slow and fat in comparison to a real kayak. but it fits in my van and I like pedalling! It can sail too.

My folks have an Aleut 2 and they are both in their 60's. they camp in some luxury for days at a time in that thing and can range up to 25 miles with little effort. 5 knots easy.

As with bikes try before you buy, get a used one and save cash. prices cheaper at the end of the summer.

No good for a single person local shop. our somerfield became a lidl. The demographic has totally changed and the staff are not as friendly.
Less choice, No scottish beer!! I’m sure its great for families and buying in bulk though.

I’ve toured shows to some. They didn’t seem like they had a lot of cash.

I’m sure they educate as well as anyone else and probably more opportunitys for the less academic. I’m sure I would have excelled at one!

There appears to be an increase in light and wind tolerant species this year on the west coast.

It’s still not bad enough to stop you coming. Check your dates and avoid Golf tournaments. Far more carnage from them.

A boring fact – Number 3 in the UK Communist party at one time….My Grandpa! Taught himself russian and everything. Some Real russians stayed with his son once and were apparently in awe…. “You mean THE party?”

They went camping on Arran a lot. Pretty much like siberia out there in the summer.

Grading and Inspection to ensure it is up to standard. Ask your tourist board – They will tell you what you need for your level of Grading/Stars.
Pointless Dressers, mirrors, chairs, hairdryers and Suitcase holder will all be on their list. However daft and irrelevant you think they might be other people (Americans especially) expect and do use them and you do actually want to make a profit!

A graded establishment can charge more and get a better quality of customer.

How are you going to Guide as well?, Clearing breakfast, changing beds and cleaning takes until about 11am. Then the day is yours until 5pm when the next lot arrive.

Gawd I’ve turned into My Mother aaaaaaaaaaaaaaghghgh!

    Bike snobs on STW shocker!

Don’t knock it till you try it….
When the bike snobs are all a bit older I’m sure the STWelitepro will be snapping up electric bikes to extend their cycling careers. They are beginning to look quite elegant now too. (The bikes not the STWers) For short range hooning around I’m sure they would be great fun.

Electric bike show in wales this weekend. Cosybike will be there. Planning ahead for the bike snobs inetivable demise!

Braehead seems to be fine. You do know bike shops are there to actually make a profit and are not government funded services?

Evans Cycles Rethreading a crank or two. When everyone else was SHUT! Apparently they are all left hand dreads. Sorry Threads. Cosybike has Cool Mechanics. They wouldn’t take any money either so I will promote them.

No it sounds just about right.

but he should let you know where he’s going, what the back up plan is and take a mobile. Common sense is often learned by faffing it up. Although it sounds like he had plenty of initiative to get help anyway.

The HDrive stuff is a bit of a faff at the moment, and for some of the consumer ones, quality is worse than tape.

mpeg streamclip for mac and PC is handy.

I’d consider a wee mac mini from ebay purely for the video editing. The good stuff is dear but is so worth it. Downgrade the version of Imovie too. the new one is pants although it does HD natively.
FCexpress is only £126 and leaves so much more time for actual mountain biking!
