You should find approx 400 threads all dealing with this if you use the search function. To save time the answer is numatic or the unknown oreck, dyson et al are crap.

I’m beginning to think numatic are astroturfing singletrack.

    pain in the ass.

The glasgow Fitter based in Hillington had no cone adapter to balance van tyre. Ended up with a 50 mile trip to another blackcircles fitter. Then 30 minutes of phone calls and persausion that it WILL be done at no cost to me.

The hillington place inspired no confidence and looked like a fire waiting to happen. I doubt he is still in business.

You might find your LED’s will run from 9V batteries.

Maplin also stock Slimline 12v lead acid batteries for emergency exit signs. Stored in a bum bag one of these would run your LED’s for Days!

Arts funding is already cut and has been for years…but It’s important for the nations wellbeing. Governments are not totally daft. So it still gets money. We don’t just do Opera and “Cats” and build stupid sculptures all the time you know!

Could you live without Music, poetry,Film, Lit. Design, Architecture….?

I couldn’t. There are some people who never get to see this stuff. They are too poor or have never had the chance. What makes these people less deserving of any fun than you? Are we not allowed to feel good about ourselves. We are gonna need all the arts stuff we can get when we retire.

Red road Flats. Due for Demolition. They seem to have the most Homely Community centre ever. Its not new, its not fancy, but its working! The asylum community is actually pretty strong and tight knit too. As usual you only get out what you put in. (Note the carry outs!)

They are a rental agency, no yer mother!

Out of hours number would be for Fires, extreme flooding etc.

They are only gonna call out a locksmith on your behalf anyway and then charge you a cut on top of his bill.

    I suspect funny noise overreaction.

Wiggle stuff. is it loose? is there stuff pissing out? Have you lost control of anything? loss of power? If no it’s probably fine.

My van belt chirps and squeaks and rattles but all is normal. You could clean the belt with alcohol but who could be bothered.

Is a cooling fan running that you may never have heard before?

My timing chain rattles a bit if its been sitting a while. There is no specified service interval for that and they go on forever. If it constantly rattles and gets really noisy then change it.

There is some useful stuff at the ford transit forum. Coconut knows his stuff.

I have done this in Tiso’s twice as they were unusual at the time in not handling your card. Now its more common for noone to handle it I remember to take it with me.

Both times they kept the card securely but disabled the chip but wont destroy the card. Perhaps the shopkeeper did this by entering the pin three times to activate the lock.??

    Probably

I have a a couple of pals that will only go to organised pay for stuff like this for their entertainment exercise. They don’t like taking too many risks or getting too dirty. This would probably be the only way to get them on a bike or do anything slightly adventurous.

Xscape seems to do well. I can’t abide that sort of thing. Its expensive and full of PEOPLE!

It doesn’t happen often but TJ is wrong!!

There was always meant to be an office structure or development there. There are other M8 junctions and flyovers that were never completed though. Eg the Junction to Bishopbriggs, Inner Glasgow ring road down high street to gorbals…I could go on but you’d get bored.

    Your kidding on right??

Does Broadband sent via mains not get broadcast everywhere anyway?
Early systems had security issues for this very reason.

Most providers need your router on all the time as the exchange will register a fault and reduce the connection speed.

The cat 5 crimpers cost about 7 quid. The first one you make is footery, after that each one gets better.

PS STW clubbed together and have ordered you a Faraday cage and some Physics lessons.

PC – What is your valid reason for carrying that kind of knife on a bike ride?

Mountain Biker – It’s for cutting cake?

    PC – You’re nicked mate….

Little sis, the lawyer advises – The reason must be valid. extremely valid. Blade length will be irrelevant by the time it gets to her. Even if it’s “legal” it can still be an offensive weapon. And it will be a police officer that will decide.

For example if you buy a knife in a shop you must take it straight home. If you go via another shop, you no longer have a valid reason for carrying it. In real life you would think some common sense applies but obviously lawyers have dealt with such cases.

Ken Smith now writes the diary
Tom Shields is old school. I doubt you would ever see him on a bike. Halt Bar more likely.

But Mike, I am submitting your post to the diary so I get published AGAIN! Ken would love to be confused with Tom and it would mean he has achieved legendary status.

If left sitting for a while its good seamanship to pump the bilges before turning on batteries/starting engine, even when dry to exhaust any low level gases. Keeps the bilges sweet too. A good hand pump moves enough air to do this.

Bigger craft may have dedicated bilge blowers and a gas detector is a good bit of insurance but remember the detector head is in a hostile place!

The Shotover Jet boats in NZ run on LPG.
