Maintenance in theory hardly any – but mine had faulty charging regulators, vulnerable fuel tank and pump systems that cost as much as the bike to repair from new.

Nobody stole it despite sitting abandoned for ages. I gave up because my first used scooter dodnt work and the one I bought from new didn’t work either. Too much faff and expense.

How cerebral is she? Scooter riding is hard work. If you are not the sort of person to see riding driving as a skill dinnae bother.

We have to have business insurance, and for those where it’s part of the job we do efficient driving training which covers safety as well for those who don’t often drive hired people carriers or vans.

We get 40p per mile for work related cycle trips of which I have done a few but never claimed.

Who makes that wee RIB? I’m just getting over the discovery that Avon is now part of Zodiac since forever and all the wee cute clever boats are no more.

I bought Chinese Lego in Shanghai as a pressy for a nephew. It’s tolerances are rubbish, instructions are poor, and it doesn’t stick together very well.

I have some cat collar bells attached to bike and a comedy pet squeaker to reduce pedestrian conflict. If it’s a bumpy canal path I don’t need to ring bell.

You can get a tandem and a 27 inch wheel electric bike in a ford mondeo estate. Two bikes in bags should be a doddle.

Feels like it resets and you get one good accelaration then reduced power but not quite limp mode and no codes recorded? Could be Exhaust Gas Temp Sensor Failure, Leading to DPF filter clogging and no Regeneration.

£800 regeneration and repair for a Ford Mondeo

Drive at 50mph for 20 minutes or more in a lower gear than normal to force regens.

the science and technology museum now has a little bit of russian art made in scotland by an artist who had to leave russia because it wasn’t communist approved. amazing how the world goes round. its aimed at families and children but the scale is immense.
    french quarter is great.
to avoid hassle on busy tourist streets – just go parallel to the main drag.
Panmen scenic area in Suzhou is worth the train journey. lots of canals and old stuff

Rent the horse out? make it subsidise itself. I do this for bicycles. Daughter needs to get a job to subsidise. I did this to fund sailing dinghies.

Have a financial review and include daughters education plans. Sell some luxury goods, reel in internet and phone and holidays.

Get an electric bike for that distance. The physical/mental health benefits, time efficiency and reliability of cycling far outweigh the financial. For some people it’s probably the most fun part of their working day. I have a fun job and a fun commute!

I put some cat bells on which are great for towpaths, and a squeaky pet toy attracts attention. No one hears a bell, and then when they do they panic and scatter. In Korea Loads of bikes have a radio going.

    I reckon its yeast.

I get similar symptoms with beer and breads. Avoiding them I feel much better. Korean lager like Hite has even less effect than Budweiser.

A basic workies high vis jacket, the cheapest waterproof trousers and wellies combined with electric bike let me commute in storm condtions and I arrive drier than if I take the car and have to run across a car park. It’s actually warmer than waiting for a stupid diesel to heat up. It is Always quicker. No shower, no rapha kit. I could easily do an office based management job without offending anyone. Instead those types ruin their lunchtime with jogging, or get ill with sedentary and mental health diseases.

I have a stupid big diesel but it only goes journeys plus 50 miles, expensed miles for work, and often carries a bike for the last mile for maximum efficiency.

My dad did a few World challenge expeditions with his school but I think they came to an end because they realised the voluntary work aspect was a waste of resources and was not actually helping the folk it was supposed too. They could see evidence of previous work that had never been used and felt they were doing stuff for the sake of it. Designed to make people feel good.

Concentrate on a quarter of the country, don’t plan too far in advance. Let the weather forecast decide for you, prepare an alternative, bring a raincoat and tough it out anyway.

Maybe off street parking with charging station will become the norm. Cities will modify to suit. Even if full autonomy cars don’t become a thing immediately surely a short slow journey from storage to your house is possible.

It still doesn’t remove them from city centres or reduce congestion or road deaths or contribute to a nations fitness and wellbeing.

What are your Health and Safety responsibilities as an individual?

Workers have a duty to take care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions at work. They must co-operate with employers and co-workers to help everyone meet their legal requirements.

Quite far from MOS but the Korean Barbecue beside the kings theatre is great – and the weans can cook their own dinner on the table in front of them. Not Spicy. Unless you want it to be. Not very vegan. Better than Nandos, Weatherspoons type stuff.

Its not sound quality you are paying for here. It’s Teacher, Pupil and School Proofness!. You could get cheaper but they would be broken and stolen in nae time. The 200 quid plastic versions fall apart in no time and are a pain to store due to stupid shape.

I operate at both extremes with Childrens Theatre. We either go disposable/bad for the environment or Super Robust.

It’s a faffy way to build a shed or bike store that is not very secure. If you want timber sides, then build it from Timber and fit anchor mounts into the ground. Or buy a shed or bike store?

Scotland’s Language Myths: 4. Gaelic has nothing to do with the Lowlands

    https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2010/dec/11/ian-jack-saddened-by-scotland-going-gaelic

Two Gaelic schools under increasing demand and expanding in Glasgow, Some folk obviously interested in maintaining some culture.
The National Theatre of Scotland has a Gaelic Program and employs Gaelic artists.

I guess any language that borrows and makes words up is evolving to survive. Dismissal of any culture is just a bit ignorant.

With cars an expensive part often comes with cheap labour that fixes other components too or a cheap part with loads of labour with other bits still left to fail.

Get a pre inspection at a local independant and walk round with them when car is on the ramp. Youll get familiar with its condition and can then get parts in advance of failure.
