As much as it goes against everything they stand for and despite the april fool I can see American style restrictions and policing coming to places like Loch Lomond and the Peaks. The funding will have to come from access charges or tourist taxes.

Average Joe just doesn’t care. He’s the inner tube dumping, gel wrapper dropper and camps bedsides roads and leaves his barbeque behind.

Real Men start with Timber and let it become charcoal, cook, and then have a fire again after to keep the midges away. Your average barbie from B&Q will melt under these conditions so you build your own in the traditional “Broch dry stane dyke” style using no mortar and filling the gaps with rockery style planting.

More reservoirs? Will not help much when a lot of your southern water is pumped from the ground. It’s that bit that is struggling to cope.

Washing up bowls are for decadent camping, Defrosting fridges, being sick in and washing things remote from a sink.

Sinks are for washing stuff in and are almost self cleaning. Why do you need to put a smaller bowl shape inside a bigger bowl shape? Bowl users sink’s smell bad which indicates bacteria. The plastic gets all greasy,
you tip it all out and still have to clean the sink anyway. Weirdos.

I fill bowls and plates individually with water camping style and rinse the plates. But mostly use a dishwasher for a whole week in a oner which saves water. Energy consumption must be even stevens..

Have you seen how musicians treat their own audio and power cables! Stuffed and tangled up in a Tesco flight case (plastic bag). all crackly, held together with tape, power supplies modified to fit with tin foil. “yeah it does that, if you wiggle it like this its fine…see?”

As long as it’s not tiny wire anything works. Most folk listen to MP3’s all crunchy and horrible. Our venue PA is not flattering to any highly compressed source. I’m trying to educate Dance schools and failing.

Clamp it with a drill chuck on the end of an impact driver or adapted to fit a lever.

Some penetrating fluid and patience. Bash the wheel a few times.

The Ivy? But if it’s caused a reaction, the dog is unlikely to make the same mistake twice. If it does, Shoot/Train the dog to “leave it!”

The ivy is worth removing anyway just for its invasion factor. It can be pretty toxic even wearing gloves and a mask. Do it when the soil is damp. I removed dry ivy once with the above precautions and felt pretty nauseated afterwards.

The lambs ears and ferns are probably innocent.
    Red berries another candidate.

Join a Union – Like BECTU and use their PLI deal. £40 or so quid for a year. If you aren’t really a technician, I wont tell them if you don’t.

    Wedding insurance exists.

I bought one day of extra PLI insurance for £50 from my existing supplier once.

    For HD on youtube I Deinterlace 16×9 25 FPS H264 2000kbps

Could it be you are making a massive file and your computer is playing back a preview version? My GF’s laptop does this. After upload to youtube the HD is perfect.

Streamclip and it’s varients are usually good.

You need to convert to an uncompressed editing format to edit then output to whatever you like. It can take some experimenting to find a natively editable format for what ever software you are using. The codecs you have in your machine are important too. You can download these too.

If it is on DVD is it already compressed and playable on a dvd player? or is it a file from the camera? You can rip DVD’s but it’s a footer. (PITA)

My solution to this problem is to only use AVCHD or Final Cut Native Cameras or Mini DV tape.

Yep, no one can corner these days. Its frustrating especially if they have a big powerful car. Tourists and small motors can be forgiven.
I’m guilty now too in my underpowered van that is guided rather than steered but I will signal left for folk to pass when it’s safe. Another bit of etiquette that seems to be forgotten about.

There is a timer device on ebay for 20 quid that works for some canon and olympus SLRs.

There are also some webcam apps that do something similar.

If it starts ok (ie no debris in the starter) I reckon its the release bearing rather than a failing DMF.

But the work required to get it off means you might as well fit a new clutch anyway.

    Rum is the original spelling.

Rhum is the modified spelling of the Victorian land owner who didn’t like the association with the demon drink.

Don’t be British. If they are crap. tell them. It’s the only way we can improve Britain’s mediocre attempt at the service industry.

But be constructive at the same time – Are they visitscotland members? Have they taken the opportunities for training and considered grading to maintain standards? If not. Perhaps they should join. They should also consider contributing time and effort to any local Tourist assoc. or marketing group.

I think the german style “excuse me” indicator flash should be adopted here, to wake up the slowcoaches. Flashing headlights is frowned upon.

No one seems to be able to match the speed of the traffic when they are joining or leaving and they often slow while still in lane 1. These folk are often in big powerful cars. With some planning ahead I can easily do it in my non turbo diesel, why can’t they? Then they pass me cause I am in a van and then they slow down. Mildly irritating.

The M8 was designed as a ring road so you are technically driving on an off ramp as the main road.

I dont reckon this exists unless you make it yourself.

What about some alu extrusion? Or Just be tidy when you cook?

Every few months all I do is pull the cooker out and give the sides a quick wipe. Cant say I have ever noticed any manky carnage down there. But my worktop is pretty flush with the sides.

Who cares if it’s late and well over budget and has handgun silhouettes on the outside. We are stuck with it now and what happens inside is the important bit.

Speaking of late and over budget…

They make hellish powdery ash and don’t last very long.

There is another type of compressed log that has a chipboard texture. It burn longer and the ash is heavier and more like timber ash.

You get them from Brian and he arranges delivery all over the place.
