We have an inflicted one too. I’ve also seen some pics of totally bald blackbirds. Apparently it’s mites

I find the Humvees quite thick and heavy, and the Humvee Lite much more comfortable.

Ever since a PSA on here about reduced Zenith shorts, I bought two pairs and they are always the first shorts I reach for when dressing for a ride.

Edit, with the Zeniths I did find, along with some others, that the gusset/crotch seemed quite high, which is noticeable when first putting them on, but not noticeable when riding.

Looking great, and a wonderful piece to have to remember your dad. My dad passed away recently and his only watch was a fake quartz Rado with a big chip in the not-ceramic case. I’ll keep it to remember him by, but will never wear it.

Lovely. Such great looking bikes. Is the 155 different to the Contour?

Dirt jumping attempts yesterday. Today it was an XC bimble to scope out possible commutes:

It’s still there, they’ve changed the gaps into tables. Smooth, yeah

Seems petty much the same as before. The first two lines were never gaps AFAIK. The third is cordoned off and a rubbly mess (in the process of changing gaps to tables?)

The left hand lines are still doubles as before:

    And some evidence of arseholery:

I unfortunately I have quite an expensive taste in watches, so I can seldom afford to buy them. I’ve just seen one I really like for £60!

I’m going to go tomorrow morning. Last time we went there we just did the red and the downhill bit, assuming that the dirt jumps had already been flattened.

If it’s really important, you could shell out for a GPS cat collar tracker and use as a keyring.

I’d agree with the blast ‘n’ powder coat advice.

I got this old pub table from FB marketplace and had a chap blast and powdercoat for £40.

It’s been in the garden for four years now and still looks great

What’s been going on with Bitcoin? I appear to be significantly up over the last 36 hours!

Edit, actually it’s my smaller Dogecoin holding, which I had pretty much given up on, seems to have doubled overnight!

I hang mine by the dropper at work (always extended), first a Reverb, then a Bikeyoke Revive and both have been totally fine.

@kryton57 so you went for a ride after three hours on an indoor setup?

There’s a lot to like about the Pegalos. Even though I’m not a bracelet man myself, the clasp alone is a thing to behold, better than anything at that price point and beyond.

I can see why Tudors are so popular at their normal price range, but spending tens of thousands on a precious metal one? Fanboy stuff only IMO.

The new Tudor chronograph is right on trend too, actually nicer than the Daytona imo, and thankfully has a sensible quantity of text on the dial.

I’ve done many as part of a company who made rustic farmhouse tables. The original plan was to use scaffold boards, which we did. They were filthy to sand down, and many came back having moved after time. We ended up using planed CLS deliberately roughed up to look aged. That could never quite capture the rustic splits and patina though.

If doing a one off, my main advice would be to make sure they are fully seasoned before making the table, ie not wet from being left outside

Also hats off to the video editor; the speaker is constantly switching yet the story flows beautifully.

I wouldn’t be assuaged by scripture written on a lump hammer, I’d think ‘nutters’

I’ll just add an update here in case it helps others in the future.

A wonderfully helpful Bikeyoke gave me some advice.

It was a simple case of stanchion stuck through corrosion/non use. I ordered the recommended Ballistol* (I’m sure GT85 would have done the same thing but wanted to be safe), applied liberally inside and out, then carefully ‘freed’ with a mallet.

Did a lower service and all is good again.

Old School time. Going through my late Dad’s house, I came across this ladies’ watch in a dresser. It’s very corroded – possibly steel, but I’d like to have it restored for Mrs CB to wear. The crown is missing, but I’ve wound it by pushing the ratchet wheel and it runs for a short time before stopping again.

In my novice view, a new crown, a clean and lube and a case refinish and we’re good to go.

    Any recommended restorers out there?

Knowing very little about Liz Kershaw, I looked her up. This is my favourite bit of trivia:

“In 1984 Kershaw formed a band called Dawn Chorus and the Blue Tits with her friend and neighbour Countdown presenter Carol Vorderman”

RadMac should never have been moved from weekdays (Although was MR’s health issues anything to do with that?)

I’ll happily listen to Giles, Kershaw and most others, just please get rid of Cerys and Steve Lamacq

We looked at an online estate agent (Purple Bricks) Buying through them was a good experience, with the booking of viewings and messaging with the sellers via the app. One offputting factor was that they were not ‘no sale no fee’.

As a buyer, I much prefer being shown round the property by the owner as they know all the details.

I won’t go into details about how my friend thought that a photo booth worked, but suffice to say it would need to involve a quite small and not-claustrophobic employee.

An early start as I was riding from the door and meeting friends at 7am. A lovely full moon.

We had a great time on the DH trails at Watchwood, my first time on the MTB since December.

if I recall correctly, your tax will run until its expiry date regardless of MOT. As long as you get your MOT done before you need to renew, you should be fine.

When you try to tax a car, it will search the illuminati database to make sure your MOT and insurance are in order.

edit , or just read andrewh’s answer

I have 2.25 skinwall WTB Rangers on my gravel bike and love them. Rolling resistance is minimal, and I’ve had plenty of grippy fun on dry xc and trails. Just avoid mud.

My mate’s house had (overhead) gas pipe leading into the greenhouse at the back for heating. Something like that?

Or just trying some XC tyres on the Whyte.

I’d go with this to start with. My Sherpa (which ticks many of your boxes BTW) was originally kitted out with plus tyres and I immediately disliked the rolling resistance, more sluggish acceleration and more muted feel. It feels so much more playful and direct to me with some 2.3″ tyres

Which has reminded me of “Under The Skin” – now that was a film which stayed with me, and I wasn’t even sure why.

Because it’s so damned good! Love that film, and much better than the book IMO

Thanks folks. I think I’m going to give them a whirl. If I feel they are a liability on the bike I’m sure I can use them for other activities.

I also found There Will be Blood to leave a lasting impression on me.

Also, these two, but in very different ways:

Nil by Mouth – Gary Oldman – bleak and harrowing.

Cinema Paradiso – Giuseppe Tornatore – joyful, wonderful, tragic and beautiful.
