Have you considered the ‘sail’ type affairs? Bit more stylish perhaps?

Footflaps – my stove behaves in the same way. I close vents right down then crack the door for 20 seconds, then slowly open to put a new log in. This minimises the smoke into the room but doesn’t eliminate it. Never had it on other stoves so I was assuming it was because of the curved glass door.

    Thanks all

I think IKEA do some 450mm depth cabs that are quite cheap – I have nothing to recycle into the garage unfortunately.

I will look at the US Pro.

Door is good – new insulated roller.

That’s a good point re the shape of the cabinet, was thinking that they would all be totally squared but you’re right, the sides might protrude back a little.

The wall is by no means sopping wet but I have noticed some ‘glistening’ on the brick surface occasionally.

Will check out the IKEA wardrobes as well. I think IKEA also sell shallower kitchen cabs as well, 600mm will fit but could make the space a bit tight

Tbh, its not going to be huge weight, more thinking of any damp that might seep through the outer wall and whether I’d need a single baton at the top or multiples. Probably over thinking this…

Its 2m high cabs rather than 2m from the ground

Drive the Deal had Calis brand new recently at £50k and Grand Calis at £60k. I took a look and specced a few extras, the Grand Cali wasn’t far short of £100k!! Admittedly some of the extras were poncy paint jobs etc but still!

I see the appeal if confidence in residuals remains high but it would be painful if they don’t. We’re lucky that a good friend lends us his conversion a couple of times a year!

Can insulated plasterboard just be stuck on to a single brick thickness wall – inside obv! Or would the plasterboard get damp?

Chapaking – My Enduro is the 29er like this…

    https://www.specializedconceptstore.co.uk/product/2362/2016-enduro-elite-29/

So this means the 650 yoke is the only option for me?

EDIT – seems to be around £100. Any idea how significant the ‘slackening’ is?

Does this work with all bikes or only some headsets replaceable in this way? I have a 2016 Enduro with a 67.5 degree head tube angle. The headset it comes with is the one below…

Hella Flush, 1-1/8″ and 1-1/2″ threadless, Campy style upper w/ 1-1/2″ lower, cartridge bearings

Would someone like superstar sell a slacker version of that?

we use a VF router for wifi, which is patchy in some parts of the house, especially with the kids at home. From the router we have a network of cat cables that service some rooms in the house and my garden office. Stunning planning means that there are some rooms that have no cat cable and patchy wifi!

Would one of these mesh systems play nicely with my existing set up i.e. would all the cat cables still work where they currently do and the mesh things just fill in the gaps?

Ocado more than capable of screwing up orders but its ususally the driver not unloading enough boxes! We’ve used them for years and if they get it wrong, they fix it. Yet to meet am impolite or surly driver.

The whole ordering online interface is the best that I have used (Waitrose, Tesco, Asda and Sainsburys) and we pay 2.99 per month for mid-week deliveries. Limited to 1 per week at the moment, which is fine.

I’d be interested to know what happened politically with this all Nepali team – thought I read that they didn’t start out that way and joined together later? Was that because their ‘guests’ failed / changed minds or were there multiple all Nepali teams from the outset?

Would have added to the Neff fanbase a few years ago – all the stuff we inherited when we moved in was ancient and still mainly functioning well. bought a load of Neff appliances when we re-did the kitchen

Oven – fine but trims and logos etc all shoddy, really easy to get drips between glass on doors which means regular dismantling and cleaning (or living with it)

MW / Combi – apart from trims and logos as above, no problems

Warming drawer – failed just out of warranty, known issues all over net, Neff Customer services rude and completely dis-interested, for what we paid I expected the opposite!

Dishwasher – all very fancy with its projected lights on the floor but utter crap at cleaning stuff, way worse than its 20+ year old predesessor

Its like the VAG of the appliance world so hard to avoid them…but I’ll be trying in future.

Crippo – interesting. Does the Union issue trump everything for you though? That’s what intrigues me, could the Tories do anything that would make you change your alligence? I guess I struggle with one issue politics, whatever flavour.

I would disagree that the current cabinet are liberal, social or democratic but that’s an aside. Good Conservative politicians exist but they are ceratinly no longer welcome in Cabinet.

I had a work colleague that voted for Brexit purely because of the fishing issue (which he declared way before it became such a hot topic late on in negotiations) and he had no interest in any other aspect of EU membership or any other pros or cons.

FunkyDunc – certainly not a Labour is wonderful thread!

I agree with Jonba in that the time of the coalition Government “didn’t seem that bad”. More in terms of less pettiness and public squabbling in Government and adoption of a more grown up approach to politics. Some poor policies admittedly but they pale into insignificance compared to today’s extreme approaches.

The way in which Johnson and his half wit ministers behave is just shocking, Corbyn and his quarter wits even more so. Why are we not seeing any interest at all in the middle ground? Why are the Lib Dems so quiet? Or are they just not getting a platform?

It goes back to the original point, the current Government is shockingly incompetent yet that poll posted above sees no reduction in popularity. Why do 43% of those polled still think they are better off voting for this lot? It must be more than politics, more ambition for ‘social postioning’?

    Why pointless weeksy?

I’m interested in ideology versus performance? What does it take in order for one’s mind to be changed?

We saw a lot of Red votes ‘being loaned’ to the Tories at the last election. Ignoring the likelihood that these votes will be reversed, could we see a ‘loan’ in the other direction?

How bad does an imcumbant Government have to be in order for their own to turn against them? Are we there yet? Is there time for the Tories to recover, with or without ‘the man of the people’ leading them?

thepurist – not sure I’m expecting this or any other thread to ‘achieve’ much tbh. Your comment about reliable electoral barometer was the catalyst for posting however.

Was curious as to whether we really are a bunch (maybe 90%) of anti-Tory lefties or whether most recent politcal (and policy related) threads indicate a sea change within the greater population? In other words, are many people regretting their 2019 electoral choices?

I do realise that asking on here if ‘here’ is representative is a little naive…

You’re doing the right thing getting the advice!!

We took the plunge on a GSP pup who is now 8 months old. We figured that our workloads would be dropping, for various reasons rather than just CV19, but it hasn’t turned out that way. Even though we both work from home, its proven far more difficult than imagined but partly that is the breed, he certainly doesn’t sleep 22 hours a day!

Your choice of breed sound like it will be a better fit for the life style that you mention, they are sprint sleep types!! However, it you have doubt still, then leave it for a little while and reassess in 6/12 months.

Also, if you’re neat freaks, be prepared for mess! Our garden is full of mud and holes, the walls are marked everywhere downstairs as he rubs along them and lots of things get eaten!

Sharkbait – the new tv will be less fancy than the main one. I’m sure it will have much of what we need but I don’t know until I choose something. Just wanted to know if the Apple box coming our way meant that I could esssentially use the tv as a non aerial ‘dumb’ screen i.e. just a plug to the socket and an HDMI to the Apple box?

Existing tv is Freesat and we still use ‘normal’ way of accessing BBC, ITV etc. To be honest, I wasn’t even aware that all bbc content could be streamed live via the iplayer until I was told up there, I thought it was just their own selection of programmes that they offer for catch up!

    Russell – it says VDSL

We have two landlines because two of us work at home but I think also at the time we assumed that we would have to! Maybe it was to keep the orginal number, I can’t remember.

Tallpaul – sounds like that could be the way things have happened. Question is, can we get the broadband changed over to the other line?

    cb
    Free Member

    OK the mystery deepens!

Using the wholesale link I have tried entering both of our home numbers.

Our home landline that we have always had suggests download speeds of up to 80 are available to us and gives the number of the cabinet that we are attached to.

Entering the number associated with the broadband ‘landline’ number suggests 17 is the maximum and is connected to a completely different cabinet!!

Any BT employees on here that might have a clue!?
