As regards kicking a dog – it shouldn't have to come to that. A responsible dog owner will have his/her dog under control at all times. If one is off the lead and comes near my kids at pace (which does happen occasionally), then I reserve the right to kick it away. If the owner wants to kick me for doing so then that's a bridge I'm willing to cross.

Having said that, I actually like dogs (well behaved ones). Never want to own one however, because I don't have the lifestyle to look after them properly and hate dog poop. Also, if a dog owner gets fed up with my kids running around in restaurants, they would be correct to moan as that too is pretty unreasonable.

I'd like to think most people understand (macho posturing aside) that there is a difference between kicking/slapping a dog and a child…

Although these discussions are always heated, there isn't much between the arguments – sensible/considerate dog owners are rarely a menace. However, the completely irrational defence that "my dog could never be involved" in a situation like the OP mentions is ludicrous.

This shop has an online workshop pricing list – puncture repairs from 13.95 – 27.95! Can't see a specific reference to "gear maintenance"? Perhaps they don't need return customers?

Hypnos make good mattresses – wait for a sale though! Very personal thing buying such an item, you have to try first

We had this – first time they came out as planned but when questioned, the guy said that the words "annual service" were a bit mis-leading – they just carry out a safety check! I'd had a local company service a boiler at a previous house and it was stripped down and new parts installed – nothing with BG! The following year, the small print changed and if your boiler is of a certain age, they won't replace if it breaks down – they will just knock a grand off the price of a new model!! Binned instantly…

wouldn't it still be classed as distance selling therefore giving you a cooling off period?

I don't live in London anymore but used to use buses now and then down there. Can't remember a single driver that even made eye contact – hold up a pass and get on. Think the Oyster system may have changed that…

Local ones to me now are all as bad as the many stories above and like those other 'professional' drivers – the taxi mob – have no courtesy, common sense or respect for speed limits. RUSSTY – do you all hate your jobs?

I think you're being very clever – this could never happen in real life!! Mother T would have chinned such a character by now. You should send this to Viz, you'll get published…

Presumably the length of the fibre for recycled cf will be dependent upon the process used to reclaim the material at the end of service (1st time around)? Have no knowledge of the mfg process – do they use a resin to bind the material or is it just heat that is used?

Tuner has a great rep for this kind of thing. Do you think its just them or USA service in general. I ask as Oakley have always been great with me (UK as well) and Hayes (in the States) sent me a spare part for my bleed kit foc when the UK importers couldn't give a toss.

That sounds an expensive rate to me. Might be better advised to choose a car from a dealer that is offering 0% finance (and fund the deposit via cc). You might end up paying more than 8k for the motor but may end up paying the same overall after 5 years (and possibly have a better re-sale value on your car)?

If you can afford it…pay the bill, she's your daughter not some random acquaintance. Nothing wrong with chasing Orange and pleading – haggling seems to be a part of modern life and there has been the odd bit of good advice on here – especially the proof of usage suggestion. I assume you will ensure that the same mistakes are not made again as there are ways around situations like this but we all balls it up sometimes…

Bit like Ryanair though aren't they. It may say Munich on the booking form but a 10km minibus journey later and you arrive at some desolate industrial estate…

Isn't there a requirement for the seller to inform the buyer of any known problems? Of course they can deny it. Small claims court is the route to go…

Them getting XP doesn't bother me at all – if they want to play with themselves in a corner then fine and I just leave the game (after a bit of 'advice' over the mic) but last night it was EVERY game! One guy joined in the mic abuse and we all went hunting them which was fun!

Just picking up from before – one of my problem areas was the left ankle (turns out I had broken it years ago without knowing so that obviously didn't hep). Some manipulation from a good physio and it has improved beyond belief – she just focussed on getting some movement in a particular joint. She is/was NHS – just luck of the draw as the previous one I had used was hopeless. I would repeat the acupuncture suggestions as well. I see the physio every 6-8 weeks and concentrate on the problems areas – she does both the acupuncture and physio.

I was a sceptic before, especially when she started talking ying and yang!

Damion – one has been topped previously, the other (smaller one) not. Tbh I'd be fairly comfortable chopping the smaller one down myself as its away from the house. The larger one is close to the house and a bit on the big side for me to handle. The nearest road is just the other side of the house and waste would either be lifted over a fence or around the side passage of the house and through a standard garden gate.

I have it. Just moved into my hands which is quite depressing…(eventually) diagnosed about 4 years ago

Now on disease modifiers rather than just anti inflams. Had it bad in the chest wall which made sneezing most unfunny. Acupuncture helped with that area – try it. There is a new treatment which has shown good results but its expensive so the quacks try and avoid prescribing it. Can't remember the name but it involves fortnightly injections at home or quarterly in hospital. Talk to your rheumatologist – assuming you have one assigned.

email in profile if you have any specific questions.

I bought a 15 month old 2.2SRi Vectra Estate 07 plate for 7,500 with 15k on the clock. Would have preferred diesel but 2k premium at the time (I need auto). Its a Vauxhall and you have to decide whether or not you can live with that but it does everything you said you needed. 18 months warranty left – you won't get much else for that kind of money.

Its not a WiFi problem – just p*ss poor signal on the mobile at home. Seems no reasonable cost solution exists – the repeater is more than I would pay. Thanks for all the suggestions though

Same as Orangista for me. Exercise (certain types) and anti inflams help but flare ups happen still. Now on disease modifiers, occasional physio (NHS – so very occasional!) and acupuncture. Strangely, I have no SI joint pain anymore but hands, ankles, neck and knees hurt like hell! Hope that cheers you up!

Well worth a mention to your GP about AS – it may not be that of course but my GP was and still is clueless about it. It was a surgeon looking at potential back damage (I had private insurance at the time) that recognised it and referred me to rheumatology.

I bought a Klein Mantra! Most people hated the looks of that. However, I loved the looks but grew to hate the ride! In my defence, when I tested it I loved the ride as well but it was my first taste of full suss and I didn't realise how many scars it would leave me with – became known as "ejector"!
