Assume the link is to the army wardrobes? Handy for locals – not so much for anybody else!

Previous rules encouraged laziness – there are ways to deal with the fines that this regulation was aimed at.

The boing boing thing was interesting. Hadn’t thought about a ‘foot rest’ before – for when stood up. I get just as uncomfortable standing after a while as sitting. My issue is arthritis rather than a ‘bad back’ though.

OK – thanks all. The price bit (warton – ouch for your mate!) seems consistent in that its too high but any other suggestions for where to sell, what photos may be missing or details that roadies will expect to see in an ad?

Its covered a few hundred miles – no more…

I have an uppy downy desk – hardly ever stand, just forget to do it! If you do stand, you should remember not to fill the void under your desk with things that might get crushed when you decide to lower it again…

I’ll do the stem thing – it does look a bit odd! Thanks

The running from half way bit was done by the Americans in a previous incarnation of their ‘league’. I would favour normal extra time then golden goal with 3 players being removed (leaving 7 if you started with Joey Barton) if its still all-square.

Get a receipt from a ‘mate’ that shows it was bought 2nd hand here in the UK. Job done.

Don’t doubt you alpin. Just didn’t want the hand wringers on here accusing me of being judge and jury!

Sounds like an appointment with the beak would do her anger management issues no harm at all. I would however, say that from a personal point of view, I would be concerned she may be ‘advised’ to claim that you had extorted money from her at the scene…

I’d leave it and spend the spare cash on beer tokens for your holiday…

Surely she assaulted you? Forget more money, agree with the others that you have that bit settled but if you feel strongly enough you could still report her for the criminal action*.

*if indeed the facts of the case were to prove that…

emsz – I think you have something that they don’t understand…called common sense. You need to think more about points scoring in personality clashes and less about the OP’s original question.

Why no pva? Interested to know as I was told that was a good way to prepare before painting.

I used to hitch from Uni at Lancaster to home in Hampshire. Quicker than the train on most occasions! Is it legal now as I never see hitch hikers in motorway service stations anymore?

This is the guy who smashed a teenagers face in during a town centre ruck, stubbed a cigar out in a team mate’s face and kicked another team mate in the face during training. If he evers plays again, it’ll be too soon…

As Grum says, seems to be an example of the morally bankrupt practices that are almost ‘encouraged’ by the UK’s business framework.

Your lease ended less than 3 weeks ago but that is still too long to notify you of any problems (IMO rather than law!). I would be miffed about that rather than fighting it as ‘wear and tear’ as has been suggested. How much is the landlord wanting to keep? Is that the only issue?

If your deposit is where it is supposed to be (schemes as stated above) then there is no point getting flustered about it – just lodge the dispute and let the arbitration people sort it out. Your landlord has responsibilities under those schemes to keep to timetables for return of deposit.

Would have to package into crates or similar before that would work – fairly loose material.

Maybe I’m wrong but that sounds like she may still get ‘done’ for the offences, just that she doesn’t have to attend court.

I agree with the above – if you want to be an MP then it should be a full-time job, no other income. Not happy with the salary then don’t apply.

Lifer – it may annoy you but this is internet conversation – I’m not running for office, I don’t ned to resort to stats to justify an opinion. OP was concerned that the value of his house would fall – it will. If I were him I’d oppose it for that reason alone. Quoting figures or at insinuating that large numbers of mental health patients are successfully active in the community doesn’t change that.

Sharkbait – thanks. Having now found the pump and said valve, I have learnt, just a little but nevertheless I know slightly more than I did! I am happy with that – certainly no intention of being blown into next door’s garden! Now, when the plumber comes I am a bit less likely to get shafted (not that I am expecting to but you know what I mean).

This place always has helpful advice for the uninitiated – in fact I often wonder why a ‘trade’ service isn’t set up. Somewhat irrationally, I’d be more comfortable paying a tradesman off here than ploughing through the Yellow Pages…

slowoldgit – nope but been there!

Surely this just boils down to the ‘need’ for such a facility in the location that OP is talking about. Rural location unlikely, larger population centre more likely. If the objections are sensible, everybody has the right to oppose a planning application.

To those in the mental health sector (workers, not residents), you have my admiration but arguments based on checks and balances that “should” be in place wouldn’t convince me not to oppose such a planning application. Plenty of examples of things going wrong, which is almost a given when considering the lack of budget available for such care.

The point that philc makes of serious nutters on day release from prison is well made and shows that ignorance is bliss.

globalti – there’s plenty of things I knew naff all about before I asked questions on here. There’s now loads of things I know a little about. I like learning…if that’s all right with you?

The rads have been bled so pretty sure that’s not the issue. Pump would be where? Near the tank I assume rather than in the boiler housing? Is it a case of taking it apart or just listening?

There is even a programme of introducing a bug into the UK to deal with it.

I’m on Omeprazole permanently too – for AS. I Only get issues occasionally with the anti inflams and I just increase the omeprazole dose to compensate. There are numerous anti inflams available though so just ask your doc for another flavour, assuming you on anti inflams long term.
