I can supply halfords tool boxes complete with tin foil hats for the paranoid.

    £350 each

EH!! As opposed to just buying 2 FOR THE PRICE OF 1 = a grand sum of 300 quid from Halfords?

    Bargain

Just google shopping and those frames all seem to be 1600-1800 rrp quid, I’m amazed people pay that for an aluminium Taiwan frame when you can buy an entire Taiwan Giant for similar

Eh – it’s half that price for the Rocket!

The guy at Swarf mentioned 2500 quid a frame at the LBS ,

The BTR kickstarter mentions 2500 quid a frame

Honestly I thought the Rocket was closer to 1800 quid not 1350 which makes it the bargain (if you can call it that) of the bunch

Considering the made-in-britain aspect I also think it’s good value

Wow , this is a USP? 2.5k for a frame puts you in Santa Cruz carbon territory

An LBS near me charges 1.5 X the normal hourly rate for labour when they fit something purchased elsewhere………..Is that common practice

Hopefully it is true and they go under because folks have the common sense to go elsewhere….some shops buy from CRC also

As for other LBS stories, im no expert but would it not be a good idea to offer discounted repairs and service on any bike bought through the LBS? Perhaps increase all workshop services by 5% and offer a 10% workshop discount on all bikes bought through the LBS. Effectively giving everyone who has bought a bike through them a 5% workshop discount on current workshop prices. LBS have a massive advantage in being able to offer workshop services to people so you may as well play on it. If possible I would also try and offer a discount on replacement parts when the bike is being serviced. This also gives an advantage against workshop only competitors and generally increases loyalty and repeat business.

Is the complaint not then that people aren’t prepared to work for free wages to pay buisness to run etc etc

Bluntly if you can’t compete your going to lose anyway to the big fish that’s the monopoly they might eventually get if largely based on price.

In fact I might wonder if some of the bigger companies with supposed poor service as advertised on here can actually afford to stick two fingers to the customers who do actually take up more time than they are worth ,sales and profit for time spent and all that

You are a troll and I claim my £5.

You will need the 5 quid to spend in a shop that hasn’t realized that the marketplace is competitive

Ribble tend to buy abroad and avoid the main UK distributor (very naughty in the case of something like Shimano, where Madison is the official sole distributor), and their frames are not great quality.

Err think you’ll find this is perfectly legal according to the EU despite distrubutors throwing their toys out the pram

Bike shop owner/employee having to work for a living and not getting a sale shocker, what is it you expect some given right that everyone through your door abandons their freedom of thought

Hold on a mo reclassifying bridleways as footpaths, the only error in that thinking is that horse riding groups carry more weight than any flask carrying group out in the wilds, horseriders get uppery and don’t take shit

A good idea is to make it scientific and ban each group for x months in summer to see who actually causes the damage

Its a non issue for now , who says other great riding in the area or even in other parts of the country won’t become subject to being made to volunteer

Also if you set off from surrey to ride your bike make sure you know your banned from that hill for now

We will just have to wait till the government says to reduce accidents on the road and after consultation with motoring groups riding on the roads between hours of …am and ….pm a voluntary curfew has been put in place

The AMRC don’t have a metal printer the mercury centre had it up to last month.

The new 3d printing place on the same site is also without DLMS at this time and from what I heard direct from renishaw 3d print consistency still remains troublesome to the point they have software that checks as it builds ,kind of like live NDT

Interestingly though the new rapid prototype centre is offering 2 days free consultancy in RPT for SME’s if anyone’s interested, and no I don’t work at that site

For investing in their production facilities

Lets for a moment just fix this shall we

Cotic does not own the production facility, Cy is a partner in it and he owns Cotic and also BML which is a subcontract manufacturing company .

Are you saying you are a 50% partner and the other partner changed the locks where you work?

I believe tried or asked before finally deciding not, I just dont understand, before this there had been a dissagreement , I basically steered clear to avoid saying something I really would regret or even as far a coming to blows, the other partner tells me that because they couldn’t contact me they thought they should change the locks.

something not quite right? and its weighted heavily enough for me to say enough

    catschroedinger

A fifty percent partner shouldn’t be doing this without consulting the other 50% unless there is some other underlying info we dont know ie that 50% is doing all the work, even then its wrong and should be handled differently

I can’t connect the two myself at the moment as to what makes someone think ill change the locks and I actually do the work at the lock change site.

Someone must think I’m going to clear the place out or am mentally unstable.

Could anyone point out what they would do or what the legalities are of a 50 percent partner changing the locks on a premises or even why they would do this

    Do you have children?

When I stopped my little girl was the main reason I want to see her grow up. Stopping smoking increases that chance.
