Loved the 2004 Gemini 2000, made me into a riding GOD…
I’m lucky the enduro’s work really well for me. I’ve had a few bikes and the first ride feeling definately works on a certain test track that has everything for me, incluing drop offs of 3′ and a lot of twisty singletrack/ off camber roots. I have learnt that if I dont ‘feel’ it first or second time then the bike wont work. There’s too many bikes out there, but at the moment an S-works enduro SL is a keeper it makes me a lot faster. As fast as my 06 S-works enduro with the weight of an 04 S-works enduro.

04 575, just didnt like it from day 1, spent a long time trying to like it. If I married it I would have been divorced/marriage of convenience.

There’s an new Eskar comimg out soon, adresses the sometimes sketchy cornering, they work really well for me though. Specialized tyres are great value at the moment. I’ve got a Clutch SX for DH days and nothing makes it loose grip at the moment, only on the front mind.

Same here. Got rid of my 04 575 to an Enduro, no comparison especially on off camber stuff. Haven’t tried the new 575. The new S-works I have now is a stunning bike. You can grab a bargain on frames.

I use a cheap Nokia, never got onto being obsessed with mobile phones like some. Hardly use the thing, more money for biking.

If it helps, I’m 5’4″ longish legs short torso, on a small Enduro just the right fit. Though I’m a bloke I am a nurse…I found the top tube on the Heckler a tad too short. I have always thought that yellow coiler one of the best bikes visually for me. Everytime it’s posted I go onto Pauls Cycles for a second bike.

I have been to the Prodrive factory twice. So the smell was the Kraft place, thought it was a chocolate smell…

Don’t sell it. I had a signed Ned Overend World championship jersey with his name on the back. (I never tried it on but he was very thin). I sold it on ebay. Really regret that one now.

Very often on my Brechfa rides, yesterday nobody in one of the car parks. I find the solitude great, though I have a laugh on group rides I prefer the rides on my own. Do dogs count as souls as they are always with me.

I remember a conversation that a few trials riders used to low temp boling the oil and chain in a pan, the reasoning being that the oil would get into the chain better. Sounds logical, in practice though having a pan of oil on a cooker spells a nervous time.

    Used most.

Last year decided to stick to finnish line green most of the year and the dry in summer if we ever get it.

Brechfa/Trawscoed/Llanllwni mtn Llanybybber mtn. natural and manamde
    avg ride length 3-4 hours
every ride, clean chain when it looks bad
8.5/10 (10/10 for me would be last 10 rides, be clean and cheap)
I would like to see the viscocity of that stihl bio oil.

I started thinking I had no regrets. Had 2 careers carpenter – nurse. But my regret is not visiting my grandfather more whilst he was in a nursing home and at home before he went in. I didnt know then how loneley he must have been.

I had an anterior dislocation, basically I hit a tree Left arm went one side if the tree me the other.
Basically a few scans, too risky to have an MRI due to metalwork in my ear. Mine wasnt the classic Fractured dislocation but, Physio stated off the bike for 4 months. I was back mtbing in 8 weeks could have been 6 but as I was off the ward for 8 didnt seem right to be back on the bike till back in work. Get a good physio (difficult). From what I know (ex Trauma Orthopaedic Staff Nurse) Some can remain unstable for a long time and dislocate again and again.
I took Glucoamine and Chondriotin which definately improved my recovery.

I place helicopter tape, that wont stop cracks but after flying through the DH bits in brechfa as fast as I can, I have no worries about hitting things. (with the bike, my body on the other hand…)

A better way to tune the negative air, (though a guy at Spesh USA says not to) is use fishing line. I used the liner from a gear cable.
bennyboy any uestions just ask. I have loads of links guides etc etc. Owned an nduro since the first small in the UK

Those dual crown forks have never ever restricted my turning circle on tight switchbacks, up or down.

I have one, bought the frane only deal as I had just sold my expert SL and swapped all the parts. All the problems with forks were early problems and now sorted. The e150 fork is a lovely stiff and plush fork, I prefer it to the 09 Talas36RC2 that I had. It will suit that riding superbley. It will build up light if you get good parts and Roval Traversee wheels.

As above all good. Don’t worry about the problems with the enduro fork, I find it better than the 09 Talas36RC2 I had. Reliabilty is sorted now, makes for a great al rounder. TBH can’t go wrong with any of those. I think the Nomad is a great price if it’s not too abused.

Tell me about it. Hit a tree 9 weeks ago, anterior dislocation. My body went one way my arm the other. Didnt look good, physio said off the bike for 3-4 months etc. After 8 weeks I was back on the bike, I’m sure that Glucosamine/Chondriotin helped a lot as well. One thing I found was that I dont like walking, I found little enjoyment compared to when I’m out there on the bike.

Blackout blinds can help. I take out my hearing aids so I’m lucky in that one. I now come home from the Ward, have a cup of tea watch news 24 and after an hour feel ready for bed. I now just accept the fact, bed eat work. Keep the bedroom cool as well. If you do struggle, some nytol can help but short term use.

I’ve got a pair on order too from freeborn, very simila, thought about 819’s instead, but the reviews out there are so good i’m going to keep the order. They’ll also be for an enduro.

I live down the road from Brechfa, there about three times a week. There’s a lot more to come for Brechfa. Like any local there’s hours and hours of trails out there. The manmade trails are superb, I mix the man made stuff and natural stuff to make it challenging. The best way to ride it is flat out. I find the Bergwm ride far better than the red. I think that it does challenge your riding, the last section to Bergwm never fails to amaze me. I have noticed slightly more mountain bikes in the A&E car park recently, but a lot less than motorbikers on trackdays at the local racetrack.

What I did for an small s-works enduro sl, Bought a expert SL for 1500 sold the frame for 550 (medium frames get more) and then got the S-Works frame only without seatpost for 850.

    1500-550+850=1800. Thats ith X0 shifters XT chainset…

The bike is stiff light etc etc.
If I had been a bit taller might have got an orange 5 as my height would need a 14″ frame.
So many great bikes out there, those Lapierres, new Treks, Prophets, for better value have a look at end of line bikes.

I have a DC08 animal for the last 4 years, it’s done a lot of work, banged about we have 2 border collies, often at the beach, mud in the house etc. It’s a great performer, cheap to run. The Henry we had for a year before was OK found it good but nothing compared to the DC08. The henry is relegated to the garage.

Yes I have a few ice tool’s uite good value. I have the earlier value Minoura workstand and I’d be lost without that. Over the years have accumulated a fair few tools. Generally as I do it I buy a specific tool and go from there. I find Parktools website a godsend as well.

Mobility or lackof can affect your bowels. I know your not on any medication, but Codeine Phosphate constipates big time on certain people. I always encourage a high fibre diet.
